His attack had not connected as intended. Then again, Yondir was only testing her.
As much as Valery is testing him, and them, by extension. All of them would learn.
In the end, this was all a test, a trial; not a competition but that challenge of will.
That essence of being guided by the Force, by each other, yet not so as to kill.

A Knight was versed on Soresu. A Ranger, however, adopted no simple stance.
He had attacked, aggressive with balance, banking on his partner, and analysis.
Valery had evaded Yondir’s blade as expected, but she had not blocked outright.
Instead, she jumped up and away, fast and strong as a griffin before the Knights.

Before her feet had even arrived on that stone pillar, however, Yondir recognized.
He knew her intention: she would attack at least one of them. A Master would fly.
Her feet would spring for her leap, while Yondir would already be moving yonder.
He knew his best defense was to stand breast by breast with his Knight partner.

The last thing either needed was to go solo against the very Sword of the Jedi.
Yondir dashed, keeping Valery’s acrobatic preferences at the back of his mind.
She could change tactics in a heartbeat, quite like Yondir’s Soresu for Djem So.
Arwen’s Soresu for Makashi in turn; yet the verses of teamwork mattered most.

Valery landed, bringing with her both swords for a downward strike against Arwen.
At that moment, as Yondir’s partner defended, the former arrived with his weapon.
A telepathic connection rested between both Knights, just as Arwen had intended.
Yet, Yondir, the Stranger, Ranger or whatever, was moving with his own intention.

Now is my time. The Knight would strike. Arwen targeted Valery’s mid-region.
Yondir would suddenly appear from behind her, swiping his blade side to side.
It would come behind Valery’s back in a diagonal slash from his left to his right.
Hilt held two-handed, blade swung upward, to catch her if she jumps or spins.

A faint grin touched Valery's lips as her blades connected with Arwen's, and while they clashed, she could already feel Yondir moving back with the intent to support the other Knight. It left Valery trapped between two Jedi, who both made their moves with more aggressive intentions. But as a strike came for her mid-section, followed by another from Yondir from behind, aimed across her back, Valery decided to show them one of her signature moves.

At the moment their blades were supposed to connect with either her blade or her body, they passed through air like she had never been there at all. Valery had tapped into the Force, and phased her way through both their strikes, and re-positioned herself off to the side, hoping they'd crash into each other as a result. This was a highly demanding skill to use, and not one she typically tried more than once.

But whenever she did, it was typically quite effective.

Whether they managed to stop themselves from running into each other or not, Valery closed the distance and only if they hadn't collided, she'd aim a sweeping strike with each blade towards them both, hoping to exploit what would have hopefully at least brought them off-balance.

His eyes widened at the ability Valery had performed which enabled her to phase through the strikes of not one Jedi, but two Jedi. He knew this action would come at a cost as this force ability was both mentally and physically demanding on the user, and even though Valery as a Master she was no God. As a student, Arwen excessively studied holocrons with his mentors throughout his years of learning to improve his connection with the Force and to further his own education with the knowledge provided. All the hours of dedication had seemingly paid off, he knew Valery would need time to recover and this was his chance to strike.

“Impressive, Master Noble!” he exclaimed.

Arwen’s lightsaber was inches from Yondir’s chest region after Valery managed to avoid both attacks from the partnered Jedi Knights. A swift rotation of the wrist that held his weapon allowed the lightsaber to skim against the fabric of Yondir’s clothes before expertly blocking the attack that was intended for Valery, preventing what would have been a fatal hit if he was in a real duel. However, he was unable to prevent the next sweeping strike, catching him off-guard, grazing his right shoulder as he instinctively twisted away.

He regained his footing after losing his composure momentarily. He marched forward to meet Valery, unnerved by the single attack that had made connection with his shoulder. With a fluid motion, he unleashed a series of elegant strikes, aiming to exploit the vulnerability of the Jedi Master he was facing.

Yondir had swung his lightsaber at Valery’s back while keeping his distance, balanced in a stance. Yet, his slash had no impact. Brilliant! The thought was genuine as his opponent phased through his blade in an instant, his attack missing Valery completely.

All the while, Yondir’s partner, Arwen, had evidently been rushing forward toward Valery and lunging, only for his own sword to stab at the empty space between them. Before his saber could reach Yondir, the latter was already moving, keeping his clothing intact and preventing an accident.

Neither Jedi Knight collided but lightsabers might. After his own saber missed Valery’s back, Yondir reacted fast, stepping diagonally forward toward his right to realign with her position off to the side. Giving them both her attention, Valery swung one weapon toward Yondir.

Defending against her two-handed again, Yondir swung his saber diagonally onto hers to block. They would cross with her blade closer to the base of his, still above the hilt. He intended to bend her blade away while placing his own onto Valery's arm in the same movement. Even a touch would be enough for a stun.
