Ignited by avarice, fundamental differences in culture, or simply a desire to rule, this inferno burns ever brightly across the stars. Yet, surprisingly, many of this era regard War as something deplorable. It is often viewed with disdain. It is often used as a last resort. Most are blind to the truth of what War is all about:
Glory.
While there are those who are ignorant to the true nature of war, a small collective of warriors have banded together specifically to pursue it. Through Blood, they see the potential of obtaining untold heaps of Glory. Through War, they aspire to see their names hallmarked for all eternity. They are the Vanguard: First to Charge, First to Kill.
Basic Overview
The Vanguard is a militant organization headquartered in the Outer Rim. Sponsored by the southern-based corporation Stargo Defense Enterprises, they are thoroughly equipped for the task of waging war in the name of Glory. There is no complex structure of rank and file that defines the Vanguard, as all members are considered equal. Leadership is conducted by those with the experience to do so, and each individual is grouped together with others based upon their skills. There is are but three "titles" within the organization: Harbinger, Blooded, and Unbloodied.
The Harbinger of the Vanguard is simply responsible for keeping the organization on track. This individual settles disputes, coordinates the acceptance of missions, organizes the various squads, etc. In essence, if any member of the Vanguard requires anything, the Harbinger is who they ask. On another note, those bearing the title Blooded are considered full-fledged members of the organization. They have proven themselves through battle and are considered an equal by all. Likewise, Unbloodied are fresh recruits to the Vanguard. Their skills and mettle have yet to be tested, and as such they must prove themselves in order to be fully accepted into the organization.
Missions, in the form of mercenary work, raids, bounties, etc., are accepted by the Vanguard quite frequently. The greater the difficulty, the greater chance that the organization will eagerly respond. All spoils are evenly split amongst those who are dispatched to handle a particular venture; for once again, all are considered equal and are entitled to their fair share.
The Vanguard will accept any and all into its ranks, regardless of origins, creeds, or any other traits. Furthermore, the organization will never be tied down to a singular entity in a servant's capacity. The Vanguard will, of course, offer a degree of loyalty to those who commission their services, but never will it become subservient to any nation. Of course, the Vanguard will remain loyal to its members above all else; and expects the same of those who fly its banner.
What are the Benefits of Joining?
To begin, there are very few who see War in the same light as the Vanguard. Those who seek the opportunity to obtain Glory and Galaxy-wide renown will find themselves fully enabled by the organization. The Vanguard is both a professional and supportive environment: the aspirations of the members are treated with the same importance as the aspirations of the organization.
Disposition aside, the Vanguard provides its members with a wide variety of assets. Having been sponsored by SDE, each member has full access to the totality of the corporation's ever-growing inventory of products. Furthermore, there is an abundance of resources for Force sensitive training present as well; from experienced Masters to compendiums of knowledge.
Lastly, the Vanguard fully intends to operate and remain as a minor faction. This choice opens the door for its members to feel at ease over the issue of "multi-factioning." Never will a member be forced to choose between the Vanguard and their factions of origin. Never will a member be subjected to inter-faction political jargin or other trivialities. The Vanguard exists for a singular purpose, and controlling portions of the known Galaxy does not contribute to it.
