Setzi Lunelle

Searching for Eleos's Altar
0KmQw5nl.jpg

Out of all of the planets in the Outer Rim Territories, Drongar was probably one of the most inhospitable. Toxic spores clogged the breathable air. And if that wasn't bad enough, the world was subjected to monsoons, electrical storms, dangerously high temperatures and constant humidity.

But despite the harsh conditions life thrived on Drongar. To be fair, most of it was as hostile as the environment like the venomous purple stingwort and the irritating fire gnats. But at one point the planet produced a plant called Bota which could be used as a healing medicine but was also said to give Jedi a more powerful connection to the Force. Eventually the bota mutated and no longer grew naturally on the planet, but with the right conditions, science and nutrients, there was always a possibility the planet species could be cultivated to thrive again.

Setzi Lunelle arrived outside of the atmosphere in her Mobquet Medium Transport, a ship donated to her by AgriCorps so she would be able to transport supplies, a makeshift research facilities and other materials to set up a small colony to Drongar. She christened the ship The Pirate's Foe because of it modular components made it very difficult to hijack. For example, if a pirate entered the ship from the stern, Setzi could seal that part of the ship off and even jettison it if needed.

Other Silver Jedi were accompanying her either on the Pirate's Foe or meeting her in their own vessels on Drongar.

"There's currently an electrical storm in our landing zone, but the sensors say it will pass through in about five minutes. Then we can head planet-side," she said, turning to Chastity. This trip with her sister was a little reunion of sorts, and she was looking forward to catching up with what had been going on in the younger Lunelle's life.

"Utinni!"

The Jawa of Justice leapt across the chasm, bravely braving the gap over the solar reactor. The intrepid adventurer Jono Jawa had stolen aboard an Imperial prison transport in order to rescue...

...the small Nautolan stopped, pausing as he tried to think of that part of the story. A small action figure depicting a Jawa wearing a fedora was held in one hand, as the youngling flitted about the small corner of the ship where he'd settled down to play. He was making up the story as he went, of course. Sound effects, dialog... it was a very involved cinematic process, the comings and goings of a youngling's imagination.

Standing up on his knees, the green-skinned boy shuffled over to where toys spilled out from the inside of the small backpack containing the items he'd brought with him for the trip. His toothbrush and other essentials were packed in there, too, but the most important part were the essentials that would keep him entertained on the voyage.

As he rummaged through the pack for a proper damsel in distress to further flesh out this harrowing tale, the boy set aside the children's datapad which contained a colorful cartographic display of Drongar -- the world that they were headed to. There was some basic demographics on the planet too. Which, the fire gnats sounded totally astral. They weren't here for cool bugs though, the AgriCorps was doing something with a plant called a Bota... or Boda...

...whatever. It was a plant and was good for medicine, and the Force, and kittens and rainbows. You get the idea.

In other words, it was a boooooooooring plant.

But, service to boring things seemed to be part of the whole 'Jedi schtick' and so Zak was along in order to learn more about the Agricultural Corps and how the Jedi served others, yadda, yeadda. Same speech, different class.

In the meantime, Zak had toys to keep him occupied at least.

Anastasia worked with the Silver Jedi on occasion. This time she was help the AgriCorps attempt to establish a colony on Drongar and do research on the planet. She was happy to be involved in a more peaceful type of project. This was something she needed especially after all that had transpired as of later. She hoped it would be a nice break from certain things.

The Force powers that she had grown into had to do with plants which she used to grow in her garden. Ana was far too busy now with the restaurant to properly care for her own garden but still worked with the products of such places. It made her own of the more uniquely qualified individuals on this mission.

Hovering over the planet's atmosphere Ana waited for others to arrive. Since her husband was currently on a mission of his own with the Ranger Ana took the second of the couple's ships which she had filled with needed supplies. A few biosuits along with medical and food supplies and other odds and ends. Ana of course had her weapons with her incase of danger as always but she hoped for a peaceful mission.

The Jedi that were coming on this mission with the Rouge Master she had never met before. Since they seemed to all be of the same mindset Ana wasn't concerned that they wouldn't get along. If all else failed she heard that Coren was coming and they did get along.

The electrical storm had nearly passed. Setzi programmed the landing sequence of the Pirate's Foe, but didn't engage it until she knew the coast was clear. Instead, she leaned back in her seat to watch the small Nautolan Jedi play with some toys out of a backpack. After observing [member="Zak Dymo"] with amusement, she came over to see what type of things interested him.

"I wish I had something to give you... oh wait!" Setzi said in mock-surprise as she pulled something out of the pocket of her flight suit. It was a small wind-up, toy droid. She had no idea where she had picked it up, only that it had been fortuitously stored in her suit all this time. She wound it up and placed it on the floor in front of him.

"You can keep that, Zak."

Then she noticed the information on Bota which he had been looking at on his large-text datapad. "Bota is a very powerful plant. Especially for someone like you, young Jedi. It will be great if we could return it to it's original, natural state." She began to think of a way to make him understand but was distracted by a noise from the console. The landing was perfectly clear now. She went back into the pilot's seat and hailed [member="Anastasia Rade"]'s ship. Rade was a fellow Silver Jedi who had come to help with the AgriCorp mission.

"All set, Anastasia. The storm has cleared, and we can begin our decent."

She engaged the landing procedures, and the Pirate's Foe broke into the Drongar atmosphere. As the ship made its way down to the planet, the padawan checked her itinerary. First on the list was to visit the research facility of [member="Cerita Sarova"]. If Sarova would allow them to, while the AgriCorps group began to establish a colony and salvage materials from any Republic Mobile Surgical Units that had been left on the planet, they would use her facility to experiment on Bota to try and combat its mutation. Simultaneously, the group would seek to develop a vaccine for the deadly, native spore which made the planet mostly uninhabitable.

There was a lot of work to be done, but Setzi would consider it a triumph if even just one of these goals could be accomplished by AgriCorps during this mission.

Damian didn’t know why he was here. You know except the fact that the Lunelle sisters were hot. That was the [member="Marek Starchaser"] part of him. He shuddered as that part emerged for the brief moment.

His lightsaber was at his side, along with his trusty blaster. In addition he had a survival kit with a large number of small portable equipment and food for a week. Should he be stuck for longer on planet he’d need to work out an alternative food source. For that he kept a datapad with local information. Then again, the expedition seemed pretty well equipped. If they wanted to start a colony they would need to be.

None of this was getting him closer to Kana. “You know,” Damian spoke up at the mention of Bota. “I know this little kid who has a farm of it. Big money in the smuggling world for samples, but its hard to come by because once you pick it you need to freeze it in carbonite before it loses all its pazumf.” What pazumf was, Damian wasn’t sure, but it sounded good and really that was half of what language was.

Damian smiled at [member="Setzi Lunelle"]. “At least no one is shooting at us yet.”

Yeah, Kaia wasn't part of the Super-Secret-Silver-Jedi-Sanctum-of-Starship-Pilots-And-Non-Jihading-Light-SidersWho-Let-The-Sith-Run-Rampant (SSSJSSPNJLSWLTSRR) for short. But she was part of the Frontiers Corps, sort of. She flew with them, helped pilots in need out and made sure to run supplies. Sure, that was probably mostly due to her association with the Levantine Astro Academy, much to [member="Boo Chiyo"] 's pain. She was a Starchaser at heart, the real kind, not some clone of a failed Starchaser. And she knew her father wouldn't be here at this mission. He had other things to do, so that was why when it came across her datapad for a mission of running supplies that the AgriCorp could use, she took the job.

The Frontiers Corps was making a few business deals with manufacturers in the Techno Union, the seperate companies, now the conglomerate, they weren't sell outs, and that granted them use of the Armadillo and Stingray vehicles. Specified out for exploration, and cargo. They'd help with identification of resources and mapping.

She lead two Laekia Freighters down to the surface, and made to park the three vessels near one another, around where the AgriCorps, the Little Sibling of the Frontiers Corps were going to park. From there she'd help with unloading the vessels. Who was she supposed to see here? Right! Setzi!

Montana was one of the main tenders to the Silver Temple’s greenhouse and garden. It was simple work but fulfilling. He’d find it especially so when working with plants with which he was unfamiliar. That was probably the biggest reason he found himself signing up for this project with the AgriCorps. His other reasons being it made him feel closer to his homeworld, closer to his people, and closer to nature. It also wasn’t bad that mutated Bota would provide a challenge that temple plants did not. It was also a beneficial challenge, so long as everything went according to plan.

Nevertheless there Montana was… looking at his reflection in a window. A window that peeked out from the Pirate’s Foe into space. In the window he adjusted himself, making sure his bangs fell how he wanted them to and opening his white and black flight jacket so it exposed his black t-shirt. He also tightened his belt, making sure it held up his black leather pants and kept his lightsaber secure on his hip. Vain and clean, were two words that could describe Montana. He gave his reflection a confident wink before making his way into the next room, where it seemed most of this expedition’s participants had occupied.

Whoosh

The door slid open and Montana entered the room quietly and posted up against the furthest wall. He didn’t pay too much attention to anyone, which wasn’t him being antisocial, it was more like he was distracted. And he was. His mind imagined Drongar. He was eager to see what it was like and get to work.

As a former farm girl from Aduba III, Chastity Lunelle was a perfect candidate for the Silver Sanctum's Agricorps group. Her Master, [member="Connor Harrison"], had encouraged her to go on their first mission to Drongar, as she had been so engulfed in her training, she barely knew any of the other Padawans. Plus, her older sister Setzi was leading the charge, and the two had not had a proper chance to catch up since they both joined the Order. So here she was, ready to help out in anyway she could.

Chastity had been so busy monitoring the radars of the Pirate's Foe, making sure that a watchful eye was kept on those electrical storms, that she hadn't paid too much attention to her fellow crew mates. Now that the worst of the storms seemed to have passed, she raised her gaze around the ship. Setzi was there, of course, and she was all business as usual. With them was an adorable Nautolan child named [member="Zak Dymo"] who seemed content to entertain himself by playing pretend. There were also a couple male Padawans on board. Chastity had not yet met them, but she knew their names from around the temple. The gossipy eighteen year old knew who everyone was, and if someone told her that something was "none of her business," she took it as a challenge to find out as much as possible about it.

Chastity was dressed in a grey jumpsuit and combat boots, with a lightsaber on one hip and a blaster on the other. The Padawan stood up from the swivel chair and stretched, flashing a friendly smile at both boys, [member="Damian Starchaser"] and [member="Montana"].

"So, what's the plan when we reach the surface, boss?" she said, giving in to the irresistible urge to tease her older sister. "Are we staying together or splitting up?"

“No one is shooting," Setzi replied to [member="Damian Starchaser"]. “But after we’ve had our fill of poisonous spores, firegnats and eating wrigglers for dinner, we may wish there was a stormtrooper or two to shoot at. There’s a reason why no one lives on Drongar anymore.”

Setzi looked at her viewscreen to monitor the ship's descent, and she saw her friend [member="Kaia Starchaser"] with her freighters also making her way to the rendezvous point. She then turned to assess her passengers, noticing another AgriCorp volunteer [member="Montana"] was also taking in the view. A Silver Jedi Zelosian, he had been fairly reserved so far. Once he was introduced to the scientist, Cerita, perhaps he would come out of his shell as they discussed how to reverse the mutation of Bota.

The padawan turned to her sister, raised an eyebrow at Chastity’s teasing tone and replied: “Yes, it may be better if we split up. I know Montana will probably want to get to the research facility of [member="Cerita Sarova"]’s. We have a colony to start setting up. There are also salvaging opportunities. What do you think you want to do, Chast?”

In a way, Setzi hoped that she and Chastity would split up, as the girl's bravado would only be a distraction to her older sister. As usual she would be fretting about her whereabouts and completely distracted from the task at hand. Maybe Damian would keep an eye on her if Setzi could not.

When the Pirate’s Foe finally touched down on a makeshift landing pad adjacent to the female Zelosian’s research building, Setzi engaged a couple of the ship’s landing claws to keep the ship steady. From the transport’s viewscreens the passengers would see the electrical storm off in the distance, beautiful but menacing, yet not close enough to do harm.

“Before you exit the ship, please put on your envirosuit. Unless you have a natural immunity, the poison airborne spores will make breathing difficult and eventually kill you.” This was said with a nonchalance that betrayed her own anxiety over being exposed to these unusual toxins.

| Imperial Prison Transport on approach to the phrik mines of Ord Mucktel

When last we saw the living legend of legendary legends, the epistellar adventurer had stolen aboard an Imperial prison transport in order to rescue the Ithorian princess, A'corn. Bravely braving the chasm of doomifying doom, the death-defying daring do-er of good swung across the gap above the ship's solar reactor. Red blaster bolts sailed by, as Imperial stormtroopers wrestled to squeeze their armored frames into the maintenance crawl spaces where the Jawa of jawbreakers slipped neatly through the innards of the vile, villainous vessel of villainy!

Meanwhile, back at the Legion of Doom...

"I wish I had something to give you... oh wait!"

Blinking, the Nautolan found his own imaginary cinematic experience smashed as a young woman's voice interrupted the scene wherein the small boy was setting up one set of action figures and then moving on to the next.

The human's face was reflected in the child's large, black eyes as the inhuman youngling stared up in some confusion. Not only for the fact that reality was now trampling on his fantasy, but also because he had no idea what the dark-haired lady was talking about. Sitting back, legs folded beneath him so that the boy's backside was resting atop his ankles, the child just waited curiously as the lady dug through the flightsuit that she wore.

Which, why was a Jedi wearing a flightsuit?

She was a Jedi, wasn't she? He thought that she was, but he wasn't sure if she was a real Jedi or not. Like, all Jedi were real Jedi, but not all were, like, Jedi Knights and stuff. Like Zak wasn't a Jedi Knight, but he was kinda-sorta a Jedi. The dark haired lady seemed like she was about the same age as [member="Nefertari Sovint"], Jedi Knight and the boy's Council appointed master in the Jedi Academy Network, so he imagined she was the same.

When she presented the droid toy, a BB-8 series astromech -- which would be perfect for the prison break and Jono Jawa's signature light freighter, the Moldy Mynock.

Popping up so that he was standing on his knees, the green-skinned aquatic accepted the toy with a toothy smile. "Thanks, master!"

When you were nine, everyone in the Jedi Order was 'master' to you. The knights were masters, the masters were masters. If it wasn't a droid and was older than you, 'master' was the rule of thumb. Plus, wasn't she kinda in charge of this whole expedition, grow the plant, save the planet... thing? Field trip, lab class, whatever.

Jedi Gardeners. In SPAAAAAAAAACE!

Hmm... now that he thought about it, that could totally be a thing. Jedi Gardener. With lightsaber pitchforks...

As the boy's imagination started to run away with him, the lady made a comment about the datapad that had dropped from out of his bag. "Yeah, bota... bota's like, this Force super aloe," Zak remarked, sliding back down so that he seated on the deck of the ship. He made the trademark spooky gesture of old horror holo-flicks as he added, "But then... then, it... like... became this mutant plant! Arrgh!"

Doing his best, Oscar-winning death scene impression, the Nautolan toppled over before giggling. But, as he straightened back up, it was clear that the dark haired lady was now distracted by someone that was calling the ship on the commlink. With a shrug, Zak picked up the wind-up droid and began to set the stage for Act XXIV: In Which The Hero Springs The Prisoner!

It was only a few minutes later before the lady was back, and reminding people about the environmental suits. Zak started packing his toys away at that point, before changing into the Sasori children's line of hazard wear for adventurous Jedi younglings in the Order of the Silver Jedi. Which, he hated having to wear a helmet ever. No one made helmets with head-tails in mind, and so his tendrils always felt like they were crushed up against his head. And the rebreather air dried out his gills as well.

Maybe they'd get out to one of the oceans though, and Zak could go swimming.

For an aquatic, oceans and salt water were always somewhere on their mind.

Maya spending more of her time in a meditation. Coming on this trip once she heard of the planet. With her own specialty in herbs and plant healing. One like her wouldn't pass up the chance. After all she had started the gardens on Voss now looking so lovely and sharing that love with others young students. It was good to use as a tool in teaching. Even more so that having watch some change in front of them unbalance and wild. With that she made her way to the others. There was it was in her normal dress, as one came to see here as something of such a figure.

Finding her way over to [member="Setzi Lunelle"] smiling, "Im here Setzi how are we all fair thing this storm." she didn't have to see it or hear about it to know it was about them. It was her own way of with the force. Finding that there was there that had gather that she didn't know who they where. Giving each a smile and nod. "Greeting all, I Master Whitelight but for this mission I'm Maya." ,

Judah was in a different transport entirely, yet in the same holding/landing pattern as the rest of the Silver Sanctum. He was in a salvage vessel, a crew of roughly a dozen from his own company, Salacia Consolidated. Yet they werent here to make money for Salacia. Instead it was a project for the AgriCorps, trying to get a planet back to habitable status.

There wasn't much he could do on that front, however.

Word had come down that the Silvers needed someone to rummage through what was left behind during the various forms of occupation of the planet long ago. Judah wasn't sure if there even was anything left to salvage. The planet seemed like a beast. The jungle alone could have swallowed up anything useful long ago. Yet he liked a challenge. There was something about digging through forgotten buildings he found exciting.

Slowly, they began their descent towards the jungled surface.

"I'd like to go salvaging," said the Padawan with a confident nod. It was petty, but the more time Chastity spent around her sister, the more she felt like she was standing in Setzi's shadow. After a whole flight of listening to her older sister boss everyone around, Chastity wanted a bit of a break from the other Lunelle. There was plenty of time to catch up later.

Along with the two male Padawans, there was also Maya Whitelight on board the Pirate's Foe. Knowing that Agricorps had such an adept healer with them was quite a relief. Who knew what kind of dangers lay beyond the landing ramp. Poisonous spores. Man-eating flowers. Swamp creatures. Drongar was definitely not on any top ten lists for vacation spots.

A majestic display of lightning could be seen outside the ship's view port, making Chastity's eyes widen. By the looks of it, it was a wonder that their little ship even made it through the electrical storm in one piece. Once she had struggled into her environsuit, Chastity tipped the shield down over her face and asked a muffled question.

"Is anyone else coming along for the salvaging mission?"

Setzi Lunelle

Searching for Eleos's Altar
Setzi made sure that everyone onboard had an envirosuit and helped the passengers check for wear and tear. Especially the young Nautolan Jedi with the huge, dark eyes. He was so excited to recieve her toy. Such innocence that it tugged at her maternal instincts momentarily. He had his own special hazard suit, built for a child. Super Force aloe, he had said. That was one way to describe it.

"Maya, how does your suit fit?" Setzi asked the pink-skinned Zeltron healer who was also aboard the Pirate's Foe. She felt lucky that Whitelight was going to lend her services, not just as a medic, but also with her knowledge of plant healing. That would definitely come in handy for the Bota mission. Maya introduced herself to the rest of the crew and Setzi left them to converse.

Turning to Chastity, she said, "You're in luck, Judah Dashiell is leading a salvaging mission. Once we de-board I can point you in his direction."

She addressed the rest of the AgriCorps volunteers. "Salvaging mission volunteers will follow Chastity to meet up with Judah. Bota and scientific research volunteers will come along with me."

Once she double and triple checked that everyone had their envirosuit on, Setzi opened the hatch and went out of the ship first, tentatively placing her feet on the Drongar soil. While the atmosphere was humid and her lifesuit was bulky, the planet was really just a simple, jungle planet. Nowhere did she see signs of these harmful insects and parasites that she had read about in her Drongar guide.

Dressed up in his environmental suit, the small Nautolan took one small step for younglings...

...and one giant leap right into a mud puddle.

Which, wasn't nearly as much fun when you were completely sealed off from the environment. Jumping around puddles was meant to get you wet and dirty. This just splashed up the bulky material of the boy's trousers. Stomping around, looking down at the ground for a few minutes, the small Nautolan fell in behind the dark haired Jedi leader-person. The one doing the bota research.

"Are there... are there, like, really ways that the Force can, like, change the way plants grow, master?" the child asked, as the momentary curiosity traveled through his random collection of thoughts. He'd heard that there were people who could grow plants from seeds in seconds, but it sounded like a lot of hocus-pocus to him.

“Ewwww,” Montana said as he shook off the blot of muck on his new, shiny, black leather pants, and boots. “Stop splashing, Zak!” He glared at the little Nautolan, annoyed. But the look wouldn’t last. After all kids would be kids, and boys would be boys. Montana knew this to be true, having once been and or currently living as the two. “Nevermind,” He sighed. “Splash away, man. Just don’t get any mud on me.” He smiled as he walked around the boy and on the edge of splash range.

That’s what Montana got for leaving the ship without a suit, granted he didn’t need it. His genetics managed to make him one of the few people immune to Drongar’s deadly spores. This, he found out against a blood sample back at the Silver Temple on Voss.

Following in Setzi’s footsteps onto the humid jungle planet, Montana examined his surroundings. The jungle was lush and green. It was all typical for a jungle but still a marvel to see, especially for people like Montana who had become used to Forested planets like Voss, and his homeworld Zelos II. He walked out a little farther past Setzi and the others, wanting to get a look at the saplings that dotted the beginning of their expedition.

He examined the sapling with his eyes, looking at it and it’s older counterparts. “This is a species I’d like to bring back to the temple. But I guess I’ll deal with that later. First is the colony, right?” He looked at Setzi and then the others who had joined from their respective ships.

A bit of work to be done, right? She wasn’t running anything for the Underground, just AgriCorps because she was testing into shuttle pilot license, without going through the Sanctum’s military training program. A civilian, and rarely, if ever a combat pilot. She’d let her brother do that, but getting in and out in the Wandering Star or her Spark Fighter, yes the one that was black and yellow, she could do. She knew enough about combat flying to teach, but she wasn’t one for her fighter pilot wings.

Her father was able to do both, her brother was too, but typically if you rated in a TIE you could fly Lambdas, and Niathals. But she came bearing gifts, so she was escorting the Laekias down in her Star. It was a simple enough trip, and dropping some of the AgriCorps workers off. Apparently they were coming from around the region for this little shindig.

Dirt.

And worms.

And lizards.

Oh Force, what if there were Hiss-Hisses here?

Luke H Skywalker, that’d be bad.

The faux-dark haired girl had one of the Silk ExCon suits on, and was ready to take in the world, for about a minute. She figured she’d check in with Setzi, see what was going on with her, avoid Damian, see who else was here, and maybe take an Armadillo for a quick spin. Learning about the galaxy, that was what the Odyssey was, after all.

She didn’t worry too much on the storm, she had Frontier Corps gear. That meant she could just about go anywhere. And the rest of the ships, the Laekias were also Frontier Corp, doing the heavy lifting, dropping off vehicles, and crew. She was watching the AgriCorps and Frontier Corps leads discuss the vehicles, rental rates, or something, and definitely repairs. Right, avoiding that, she turned to watch the ships come in.

Maybe she could see if Setzi needed her, if not, a quick drop and run would be fine.

There might be worms here.

Or snakes.

Getting envirosuits on was always a pain. So was dying of some horrible, untreatable disease. Not dying seemed worth the hassle of checking oxygen scrubbers and various seals on each suit. Once everyone had checked and re-checked the status of their suits, the hatch was opened and the group came wandering out.

Humidity hit him like a ton of bricks. It had recently rained, evidenced by the youngling playing in the mud puddle. The boy reminded him of his own son.

Coming to stand on the wet jungle-like earth of the planet, the Salacia crew stood around murmuring. A few already had tool boxes in their hands, ready to work. Several seemed to be taking bets on what they would actually find. Most of the consensus leaned towards rust, but one would never know what they could find if any of these buildings had underground areas. They tended to be a bit more stable.

"Anyone for salvaging?"

Setzi Lunelle

Searching for Eleos's Altar
Setzi turned to the Nautolan boy to answer, “I think so, Zak. Your best bet is to ask Montana. He is one of our resident botanists. But I do know If we can return the bota to its original state before it mutated, it could help the Silver Jedi in our fight against our enemies. Have you ever fought against the Sith?”

She couldn’t even imagine a child going into battle against Sith and Vong forces, but padawans were trained early and sent out to fight even at a young age. Setzi was glad he could be on a mission like this with her. As dangerous as it was, they didn’t have to contend with darksiders, their maddening illusions and thirst for blood.

At least she hoped.

She watched Montana walk ahead, interested in the various flora on Drongar. Catching up to him, she also inspected the saplings, touching one of the leaves delicately.

“It’s fine to take samples now if you’d like. But I’m very interested to have you meet with our head scientist, Cerita. The research facility is right there,” she said, pointing to a building nearby.

The padawan lead the group to the laboratory where they would begin to study the bota. The colony would be established in an empty facility nearby and would need to be prepped for sentient inhabitants.
