All roads lead to rome...
Regardless of how they approach - via the central elevators, via the artifical rear entrance or via the tunnel complexes in the stone that lead down through immense maze of the temple-factory, following the pull of the force leads down hundreds of meters below ground, they all lead to the same location. The one bright point of lightside energy, another dark, both immersed in the dark sea that is a dark side nexus.

Getting there requires travelling through a complex web of construction chambers and ritual points that all seem dedicated to the construction of the droids that swarm through the area.

The droids themselves are ancient, but for all that remarkably deadly if they get into close combat range - they're not a challenge for hardened Jedi, but they have a disturbing tendency to get back up again under the influence of the dark side energies permating the structure. Thousands of years ago, these might have been top of the line battle droids intended for an army of conquest, but thousands of years of entropy and dark side energy has taken it's toll on their structue.

The final (if it is the final) chamber is immense, towering up over the heads of anyone in the interior, lit by the dim rivers of lava that run in channels through the ancient geothermal power structures to either side of the room. The centre is filled with a monolithic structure seemingly constructed from a technological, sithspawned nightmare from which much of the dark side energy and power sources in the structure radiate. Behind this structure stands an immense war-droid, on par with some of the ancient building-size construction droids used on Coruscant, the droid appears unfinished and powerless - a final masterpiece that never recieved the gift of life. Around the base of the structure are workbenches, shelves that once contained books and other signs that someone use the centre of this immense labratory as a workplace.

Sitting on one of the desks is a Sith Holocron, dull and lifeless currently, but clearly complete.

Stood in front of this holocron, seemingly lifeless and locked in place are two much more modern and much more advanced droids - some kind of female-gendered human replica droid seems likely, both wearing tattered remanants of thousand year old jedi robes. They seem to be frozen in place as if locked in combat, one of them ([member="Solari"]) is frozen in a look of desperate sorrow, one hand containing a beautiful songsteel saberstaff (deactivated) drawn back as if recovering from a strike, her other hand seemingly reaching into the chest cavity of the other droid where a glimmer of crystal light can be seen, who has a look of frustrated anger on her frozen features and a pair of (deactivated) lightsabers in either hand, as if about to strike a killing blow.

The source of the light side and dark side energies come from this point - the two frozen Iron Knights (it doesn't take much to determine the angry one radiates the dark side, and the sorrowful one the light) - and at least one of their reasons for immobility is obvious, if confusing: at this distance both are clearly radiating the characteristic emanations of individuals in some sort of force stasis or hibernation from their chest cavities.

Tana rolled his eyes at the young boy, "Ahh don't worry about it, I was just trying to have some fun, no harm done if you don't react, as for my sister, yes you are right, mentioned something about you and her on Kassyke, and some drunk Padawan, not sure what the whole story is but sounds interesting, now hop to it, I need ya to drive this thing".

He placed his arms around Reggies torso as he claimed on the speeder, hugging the Padawan a little tighter the necessary, the duo following closely behind Matus and her Kiriko as they headed into the ancient structure/ruins. The entire place being a marvel for sore eyes, massive entrance way with halls of some sorts, that from experience probably lead off into a labyrinth of corridors and stairwells, ancient looking machines and parts lying around, a place that even the most knowledgeable of explorer would probably glee over.

As the speeder can to a stop Reggie offered the shall we phrase, excitement evident in his voice and face, "My your such the gentle man", Tana reach out clasping onto Reggies hand, stepping off the speeder in on smooth action, eyes planted on the massive structure that lay before them, "Something tells me this will take a while to get through".

The sounds of blaster fire and the distinctive humming slashes of a lightsaber could be heard from inside the large chamber, clearly emanating from one of the doors leading into it. The sounds became louder and louder, to the point where blaster bolts were actually hitting the door. Finally, the door hissed open, and two battle droids fell through the entryway. They still glowed and smoldered from where the lightsaber had sliced through.

Cautiously, Cassius Droma lead the way into the room, his lightsaber pointed forward in his preferred ox guard. T-4D4 brought up the rear and broke off a little to the left, his oversized hands holding an A180 blaster pistol. After a few moments of silence, both forms lowered their weapons, Cassius extinguishing his lightsaber’s blade and clipping the hilt to his outer belt.

“Looks like we’ve found our source of energy…” Cassius said, referring more to the Force signatures that he knew his mechanical friend couldn’t detect. As he stepped forward, it hit him that it was warmer in this chamber than others – must have to do with the flowing lava. Of course. It was the Sith that had built this place, after all. So far, the temperature wasn’t unbearable, but if Cassius stayed in here much longer, he would probably start perspiring if he didn’t take off his larger, outer coat. The more pressing worry was the immense amount of dark side energy concentrated here. He felt like a lighthouse on a stormy night, a flickering flame in a dark cave.

His attention was immediately drawn to the two figures in the center, frozen in time as though they were statues. They appeared to be droids, but they wore clothing… and the Force signatures came from them, rather than anything else in the room. He was drawn to the one who had a light aura, the only other light signature he could feel this far down into the depths. Both of them looked newer than this temple, that was for sure.

Drawing closer, a small glimmering red light caught the corner of his eye. It was pyramidal holocron – Sith-made, to be sure. Reaching out to it, his hand hovered for a moment. Carrying around such things of immense power could be corrupting… but then again, something once said to him echoed in his mind. An object cannot make you good, or evil. He scooped it up and put it in the small bag slung over his shoulder.

Turning back to the droid, he looked over the light-sided one, getting very close, as if he were inspecting an artifact. His gaze followed her arm as it was reaching into the other, darker droid. A crystal light…

“They’re Shards,” Cassius remarked, like a scholar would remark upon a small discovery. His mind flashed back to some time ago, when he saw similar beings on Commenor. Unpleasant memories, that was for sure. When he’d looked up some cursory information on them later, however, he knew that the Iron Knights were originally built to serve the light side. Hopefully, it was still true. “They’re still alive.”

“I’m not detecting any power in them,” T-4D4 said.

“They’re alive,” Cassius nodded, determined. “I can feel it.”

Placing one hand on the droid woman’s shoulder, the other hovering over her chest where the crystal – her true form – was housed, Cassius closed his eyes. He opened himself to the Force, feeling it flood through him like a faucet had been turned on. His abilities in psychometry might be able to tell him what happened here, but with the amount of dark side energies here, he didn’t want to take that chance. Inhaling deeply, he reached out to the Shard, calling it.

“Awaken.”

“Awaken.”
To anyone not skilled in the Force, the resulting consequence would have been distinctly anti-climatic. The two frozen droids remain where they are, their eyes lifeless, their limbs fixed. Lightsabers do not ignite, a frozen battle centuries old does not restart into sudden blazing life.

Which makes sense really, after all, these droids have been down here for... quite a long time, it seems likely the power reserves in their weapons and bodies are at best on standby reserve. Looking at both figures briefly, their lightsaber studs are in the 'active' position, the weapons long ago having drained their power cells.

To anyone who can sense the Force, the effect is somewhat more dramatic. The shimmering ripple of the dual stasis effect ends at once as soon as [member="Cassius Droma"] speaks the word and extends his will, the Force rushing through his intended target and awakening them from stasis and slumber - but also awakening the other shard, for no stasis effect can last as long as this one has without sacrifice, in this case the willing imprisonment of the individual performing it.

The visible shard in the heart of the dark-side machine glimmers softly with a dull, almost angry hue, a confused range of emotions transmitting out from it. But before anything else can happen, the presumed other shard in the light-sided droid reaches out swiftly with a stasis effect, trapping it's... sister? It's fellow? In a prison of the light again - but this time a temporary one.

There is a brief pause, then a gentle request for a telepathic connection to anyone within immediate range - certainly [member="Cassius Droma"], but if size matters not, distance matters not too. So anyone in the thread who wishes can hear the broadcast, perhaps amplified by the nature of this dark place beyond what it should be.

<Hello> The Shard doesn't speak basic, and doesn't sound female exactly when speaking via telepathy - although there is a female hint, as if it's an identity it has picked up. It's telepathic presence a crystaline chorus of serenity and chimes, with the sensation of a glittering sunrise. <I identify as Solari, Knight of Iron. I sense/feel/understand that there is one who can touch the Force/All-Power. I request their identity. There is urgency. My growth-mate Qixoni will escape me soon, and when I remove my hand it/she will once again have control of its body, it's power reserves are still active, my shell is interupting the flow. It/she can command machines using a technique I do not know, but must not leave this place. It/she is lost/confused/fallen/dark>

There seems to be more it wants to communicate, but while it is clearly strong in the Force - no padawan certainly - the toll of suddenly reawakening clearly prevents it immediately communicating more.

It was at that time seem to appear to be in a state of both awe and growing uncertainty that in itself brought a foreboding hint of uneasiness in him. That Ronin then began to slowly but tentatively enter and walk down the path before him. Still unable to shake the strange presence that lingers ever so gently yet thinly in the air much like the fluttering ancient dust of time that appeared cover every inch of this place. To which only when he had gone but a few yards yonder that he seems to come the realization that as ancient this place looked. There seem to be no evidence nor traces that is as far he could see other than the faint presence that seems send a low shiver down his spine. Much like as one would expect as say akin much he could recall feeling just once. When he once found himself working in lieu of fare on a starship standing so close to the open power generator of a ship.Thought this case, there seem to be not a single soul nor traces of any possible or close source of such machine. That he could help doubt if it were all just a figment of his imagination.

38c99862be12f27597be418ed2e3e0f1.png

That is until he turns a corner and there stood much to his surprise a machine. It red glows eyes still seeming to rage still due to some old and all but forgotten battle that it was engaged in. From a time that was past his time and was unbeknownst to him stem from a bygone era. Which at first he would easily dismiss as it just stood there frozen before him as with saber in arms reach. He stays his hand till by some strange coincidence that as he briefly turns his head hear some faint explosion alongside unmistaken blaster fires in the distance. That the machine comes to life drawing it guns as it was soon joined by even more machine. That drove him to choose.....between fight or flight he ops to the latter as more came out of the shadows. Driven back he soon found himself trying to seek a vantage point when just as suddenly they came they cease to move. Once he seemed drawback to one the opposite halls. Just outside of a doorway heavy with the scent of sulfuric fumes of the unseen river of lava.

Where someone ahead of him appeared to had stumbled into ( [member="Cassius Droma"] ) and awoken the ancient being from their slumber. From where a lone message came forth to reach his consciousness started with a greeting.

<Hello>

That for whatever reason, perhaps more so due to his unique heritage came him appear to be as clear as day. That he froze where he stood looking around puzzled as he sought to see where the voice came from. When it after brief pause came to his reply as he somewhat still looked perplexed...

' umm, hello...who.....where...who are you?'

And it was then soon after came a reply back.

<I identify as Solari, Knight of Iron. I sense/feel/understand that there is one who can touch the Force/All-Power. I request their identity. There is urgency. My growth-mate Qixoni will escape me soon, and when I remove my hand it/she will once again have control of its body, it's power reserves are still active, my shell is interrupting the flow. To which heeding her or its words as he senses the mix of concern draw him further down the hall. Whereas he inches ever closer to the hall that from under his cloak the small sliver shard hum to life. As if recognize or resonate with the odd energy of the speaker.....as thought its meaning or significance still eluded his understanding at that time. That the small shard....the only remaining memento he was able to salvage of his father legacy. That which he had been his secret personal sojourn of late.....that he slowly entered the halls shy of a few yards off to the other Jedi that enter flank. Frozen for a moment as he came face to face with the scene before him....that of the enormous mechanoid ahead and the outline of three figures not far off. Two seem from his vantage point lock in battle while another stood close a hand outstretched onto one them.

"This temple reeks of the Dark Side, but I suppose it is to be expected of an ancient Sith ruin." His saber ignites into a long blue blade, "We must be cautious and we cannot split up, this temple will most likely try to lure you away with hallucinations and attempt to turn you, so if you see something unusual stay away from it, it is most likely a trap." Alex then entered the looming ruin, turning on his HUD in his helmet to filter out any hallucinations, the Dark Side may be able to fool one's mind but it couldn't fool sensors and electronic optics. "Stay close to the group." His B-X series Commando droid hopped off the speeder bike and followed him, it carried a cortosis reinforced vibroblade and a modidied E-5 blaster rifle, upgraded for better accuracy as the standard variant was notoriously inaccurate, even in skilled hands.

OOC Note: Apologies for the delay.

The corridor ahead of Xaedrin clearly displayed the ancient heritage of the structure, with architecture that spoke of centuries gone by. Metal statues of Sith warriors and droids lined the hall, weapons sometimes held at the ready while at other times sheathed or nonchalantly carried. The hair on the back of Xaedrin's neck stood up as he walked between them, a nagging feeling growing inside of him the further he moved into the eerie sepulcher. Lighting sconces provided enough illumination for him to navigate the corridor, although one in three was dead from years of disuse. Apparently motion activated, the lights followed him through the hall of statues. As a healthy fear grew inside of him, Xaedrin embraced it, ready for a possibility that he now suspected as reality. He stopped midstep, a medium stride held in repose as a low thrumming sound issued from around him. It grew, the floors vibrating under his feet. Dust shook from the statues around him, small stones falling from the ancient architectural designs that criss-crossed overhead. Then his growing certainty was confirmed, as the statues began to glow with an iridescent, red light; subtle runes along their worn surfaces coming to life briefly before they lurch forward from their pedestals.

With a roar, Xaedrin called his lightsaber hilt into his hands, its red-orange blade springing to life even before his hand gripped it. Xaedrin didn't take the time to count his enemies, instead leaping into action with passion and fury. He didn't take time to center himself, nor did he take time to mentally prepare for the fray. He simply moved, all of his emotion pressing him into a battle fury.

The first construct that he attacked wielded a scythe like weapon with jagged teeth on the inside of the blade. The Force-fueled monster raised its blade in jerky motions, clearly intending to cleave Xaedrin in two. It hadn't expected a swift response, however, allowing Xaedrin inside its guard. With a side to side slash, Xaedrin's blade cut through the droid, its top half falling forward from the weight of the blade. Xaedrin turned seeing two more stepping in toward him. The first carried a long, thin blade; slightly curved back toward the attacker with a jagged hook on the end of it. It was already swinging, forcing Xaedrin to somersault backwards in order to escape. Reaching out with the Force, Xaedrin clutched at the scythe weapon the first had wielded, and mentally threw it at his new attacker. The scythe spun, catching the blade-wielding droid with the serrated edge around its neck. The droid's head was sheared from its body, and it staggered backwards in response. With a spike of panic, Xaedrin felt a hand grip his ankle. Looking down he saw that the first droid he'd felled was crawling toward him and had his hand in its tight, metallic grip. Xaedrin slashed downwards, amputating the hand and then used the Force to throw the severed droid hand at his oncoming attackers.

Realizing that the droids could reanimate themselves to some degree, he tried to think of a new strategy to handle them. Unfortunately, the rage that filled him kept him from thinking clearly, so he simply leaped back into the fray. Dodging a strike from the headless droid, he thrusted his blade through the chest cavity of a second, which wielded some type of mace equivalent. Xaedrin crouched and turned, gripping his lightsaber hilt (which was still lodged in the mace wielding droid behind him) over his shoulders, and then dragged it upwards, its blade meeting slight resistance as it carved from center of the droid's chest up through its neck and right through the middle of the droid's head. Xaedrin stood tall, and shoved backwards with the Force. He heard the droid he'd just mangled fly backwards, crashing into two others. Xaedrin then reached out with the Force and pulled the headless droid back towards him, a flurry of strikes dismantling it as he neared. He smiled, carried away by the carnage, until a sharp pain in the back of his left shoulder reminded him of where he was. He turned, throwing his lightsaber behind him and then reaching back and gripping a bolt that protruded from his back. He screamed in pain as he ripped it free from his flesh, blood dripping to the stone floor beneath him. His blade spun towards three oncoming droids, shearing the first in half before the second slapped it out of the air. The hilt clattered to the floor off the wall, blade extinguished. Xaedrin reached out a hand to call it back to himself but was struck from behind by a heavy, blunt object. He turned to see a larger droid, carrying some type of wicked club. It was covered in spikes, although one edge was worn, the spikes rounded by the passing heat and air inside the structure. Force-be-thanked that was the side that had hit him, else he'd be dead.

The corridor seemed to shake around him, residual effects of the blow he'd just received. As the large droid began to move toward him, he searched wildly for his weapon in the Force. He finally found it as the large droid raised the club overhead, prepared to offer a death blow. He pulled it to himself, activating the blade as it flew, but then pushed it upwards in a spin. The blade sheared through the giant club as it was held overhead the droid. The heavy, spiked top end of the club fell onto the droid, crushing its head and forcing it to the ground. Xaedrin stood, shaky, and looked back and the three remaining droids moving toward him. However, they were behind him now, and their movements were slow and restrained. Perhaps losing the power that animated them?

Let someone else deal with them, he thought as he switched off his blade and sprinted deeper into the bowels of the ancient structure.

As the trooper talked, Reggie couldn't help but agree with what he said. Even though the new allies that he encountered seemed like they could handle themselves, It would be unwise if they were to split up. There was no way of knowing what resided in here. He examined their surroundings as they began to explore the ruins, intrigued by the ancient machines that still occupied the structure and the halls that they walked through.

Reggie's focus was broken when he heard a message slip into his consciousness. As he listened closely to the message, he began to feel uneasy. He was sure that his allies heard the message as well, so he didn't turn to tell them. This was something to be concerned about, which meant that they would have to hurry.

"We have to hurry."

Reggie had a feeling that they weren't close to whatever sent out the message through the force, which meant they didn't have the time to explore the ruins. They would have to reach their destination as quickly as possible.

Alex entered the temple, pulling his rangefinder antenna attachment down in front of visor to activate his night vision sight. Suddenly a lumbering behemoth of a droid stepped out from around a nearby corridor, "Contact left, looks like an ancient security droid." He fired a few blaster bolts at what looked like the thing's faceplate, the thing sputtered, crackled, then collapsed with a loud *THUMP*. The DC-17 was especially designed to be especially effective against droids, having every bolt it fired hyper-ionized, causing a droid's circuitry to short out when hit by a bolt. "Looks like they're vulnerable to electrical and ionized attacks, they don't seem to have the insulating factor of more modern units."

He blinked as the Shard actually spoke to him. She – was she a she? – introduced herself as Solari, a ‘Knight of Iron’. A small smile crossed Cassius’s face. He was right after all – she was an Iron Knight, possibly one of the original ones. Hello beautiful, he thought to himself, careful not to broadcast it. Cassius hadn’t been much of an archaeologist long, but he knew that it was rare for anyone in his profession to have their artifacts actually speak to them. The somewhat unnerving sight of mentally hearing a voice come from a body that wasn’t even moving was overridden by his excitement.

As the Shard went on, the situation became more serious. The other droid – Qioxi – had apparently been kept in stasis by Solari this whole time, and if she removed her hand from her true form, she would reactivate. That was certainly a conundrum, to be sure. Apparently, Qioxi had the power of Mechu-deru, and with that, she could very well spring to life more battle droids for them to contend with. Then again, if Solari had fought her sister – growth mate? – this evenly until this point, an extra hand could help tip the scales in their favor.

“My name is Cassius,” he spoke verbally and telepathically. “I am a Jedi, and I am here to help. Together, we can defeat your sister.” He hadn’t even considered the strange notion that a crystal could fall to the dark side of the Force.

“Tee,” Cassius briefly looked over his shoulder. “Get ready.”

“Okay,” T-4D4 nodded and turned around, gripping his blaster and squaring his shoulders. Then he paused. “For what?”

“Is there a way I can deactivate her before she wakes up?” Cassius asked Solari, hoping to avoid this conflict before it started in the first place.

The thud of the fried droid resonated through the halls, Alex made his way deep into the temple, dispatching several more droids along the way with relative ease, some being sliced in half by his lightsaber, leaving no room for them to continue functioning, or were fried to the point that their circuitry was nothing more than broken, charred wires and burnt-out microchips, his B-X following closely behind, it went about making sure the destroyed security droids remained down. Alex's footsteps resonated through the empty halls near Cassius, the sound of plastoid armor boots hitting the ground.

Upon stepping off the speeder Tanas mood changed drastically, he could afford to act all wishy washy now, this place was a old Sith ruin, and if experience had taught him anything is that bad things came out of this sort of stuff. It was not hard to feel the darkness radiating from deep within the structure, trying to seep into his mind, and most likely those around him, fortunately though the dark sides illusion and tricks where not effecting him, for now. Tanas new force infused robes radiated with the light side of the force, pushing out any dark influence that might try to lure him away from the group, allowing the young Jin the ability to keep focus on the task at hand.

Alex came to a stop, a single droid rounding a corner before being blasted by a wave of green electricity, Alex had used the force technique of Electric Judgement onto the droid, the light side of the Force's equivalent to Force Lightning, not utilizing the anger and hate the other used to fuel itself. The droid shuddered and crackled as green electric sparks passed between its twitching metal limbs even after the barrage of electricity had ceased, Alex then looked around the corridor in greater detail, noticing that the force presence that had been coming from within the temple was nearby, he made his way toward it.

It then seemed as if much like a whisper in the darkness it seems a call to him. Faint at first thought as he inches closer does it grows strong before fleeing back to a faint lull much like the ebbing of the ocean tide. Draw from him a faint curiosity as much it was a curious lure which played ever so gently that he somehow couldn't help but give chase. To that which seem more like a shadow wraith in the back of his mind that drew to send a slight electrified sensation to the back his neck. Enough that it drew some the fine hair upon the nape his neck to stand that seem at that moment he dares not have taken notice.

That what drew him was not that from the voice that spoke to him but that of the other. She who was the ebony of the ivory speakers twin who perhaps having faintly sense the tainted pent up darkness within him. Which he at best had only but recently gotten under control....of which was a memento from a seemingly forgotten past which his mind could not yet fully fathom. As such it kept much of its finer detail under wraps in the deep recesses of his subconscious mind. That he soon found himself approaching the figures in the shadows as he soon comes to find himself standing behind it who he overhears be called Tee?

“Is there a way I can deactivate her before she wakes up?”
<I am afraid that our motive droids exterior shells are constructed from ultra chrome plating. I had the access code to her/their maintenance ports, which is how I presently have access. But those codes were changed as soon as she/they saw my ruse and the primary power supplies for these units are not within that accessible area.>

The shard named Solari transmits an impression of deep sorrow. To be awoken was remarkable, she/they had expected to die here. But to find herself trapped in much the same situation she had been in before she had plunged them both into stasis was... sad.

<Any attempt to gain immediate access would likely result in catastrophic damage due to the nature of ultra chrome degradation under energetic assault. I would rather she/they be preserved, she/they is misguided, not evil. The Galactic Empire has been hunting us for some time as a consequence of our assistance to the Rebel Alliance, and bereft of the Force/All-Power we are but droids.>

There is a moments pause, a sense of consideration. The shard reached out with the force to survey the surrounding area.

<I suggest that you recharge my own power source - it is long depleted, indicating I have been in stasis for some time. If you can move my thumb from my lightsaber's activation stud, you should also be able to change the power cell in that. Then she/they at least will be without weaponry to harm us directly, only the products of those obscene factory.>

Another pause, there were several force-sensitives within a very short range - short enough to be sensed over the blanket of dark side energy that coated the chamber like dank oil.

<These are advanced model droids, based off Project Decoy innovations. But these are not combat models, we are exceptionally durable and faster and stronger than a human, but not to the same degree as a battle droid chassis. We should hurry, there are others nearby.>

A frozen droid cannot turn, but [member="Ronin Wendigo"] could feel the weight of the shard's attention on him as he approached, a gentle probe through the force, doing as little to disrupt it and its will as possible, directed sensing or farsighted.

<Greetings.> Both of the people in the room could hear the message, and the directional impulse that pointed out [member="Ronin Wendigo"]'s location to [member="Cassius Droma"]. <Are you friend or foe?>

Further off [member="Xaedrin Vondiranach"] felt the faintest and briefest of impulses, a confused call for help in the dark and of the dark that was cut off almost before it began.

<Wha? I? H...>

It would give him a direction to go to reach the vast chamber. If the noise of the conversation or strong broadcast telepathy did not.

It was then standing on the sideline listening to what bit he could tap into during the proceeding that concurred within the contextual shift in what he assumed to be the face of one them. Some sort of ancient organic mechanical duo of sort lock in some strange conflict of which thru the shard that hung ever so closely rested on his chest. Connected with him and gave him access to tentatively prod at the pair cautiously to some extent. Though not with its own share of challenges as well temptation. For given the raw somewhat untether tentative new ability he'd somewhat pick up and had been secretly training to gain some mastery of. Gave him some insight to view things from another vantage point that which was not solely anchored to either the dark or the light. Come from a linage far presceeding both and was seem as ancient as the two from which he couldn't help feel some affinity to on some level.

When all of a sudden as swift as he found himself in their presence try to comprehend their words and situation. That out of nowhere came voice seem feminine in a tone that in itself thought it slightly startled him gave him no reason to be defensive rather lull to peak his curiosity.

<Greetings.>

Came to a pause along with faint prodding in the force that directed a gentle impulse in the force towards his direction as he, fumbled to reply.

"Greetings to you as well....."

It was at that time the vice then came retort back.

<Are you friend or foe?>

And he now somewhat feels a slight confidence sense no ill will from her thought this was not so from the other who even in her stasis state. Oozes and resonated with a fair amount of darkness ever so palpable in the air that it felt separate on its own from the rest that hung heavy in the air around them. As he then comes to reply.

"I can be either .... depending on the will of those that speak. Thought curious as it would seem thought your signature resonate with some strangeness as it were unique....ancient to some extent. That in some ways the very fiber in me feels some level of affinity to you...."

Cassius listened intently to the Shard as they communicated. It appeared that disabling the other droid before she could be reactivated wasn’t much of an option. A fight was imminent. As the one named Solari relayed this, she said something that confirmed Cassius’s theory. The Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. While there had been reiterations of those two factions since their inception, the evidence around him pointed to that they had been around since the first Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance. Fascinating as that may seem, they had more important matters to discuss.

When she suggested that Cassius recharge her power source, Cassius looked back to his friend. “Tee, get over here,” he beckoned, and the droid stepped over. “Can you use your power cell to charge hers?”

“Do I look like a battery?” T-4D4 questioned. Cassius gave him a stern look. “Alright,” T-4D4 mumbled, moving to the back of the Shard’s droid body. “Looks like I’m compatible,” he said, popping open his finger to reveal an interface node typically used for interacting with computers. Joining with Solari’s droid body, a small electronic whirr began to sound. “I can give it enough power for a little while – we’d have to leave here fast.”

“Do the best you can – I have no intentions of staying here long,” Cassius said. “What about her lightsaber?” The young Jedi gripped Solari’s wrist as his other hand moved her thumb away from the activation stud on the lightsaber.

“Maybe a short charge,” T-4D4 said. “Again, not for long.”

“Should be okay…” Cassius’s voice drifted off as he felt another presence come very close to them. He hadn’t noticed it before due to him being so focused on Solari, but when she addressed him and pointed out his location, Cassius quickly spun, drawing his saber. Upon further inspection, he could feel a lighter Force presence emanating from the man. Cassius lowered his arm, but still kept an eye on the newcomer.

“Who are you?” Cassius asked. Behind him, T-4D4 kept working, giving Solari’s droid shell sufficient power to hopefully start interacting with them in the physical realm.

It was then just as he stood there at some distance yet close enough to the sideline to them hidden somewhat in the shadows. Using old trick and skill of the trade learn on the harsh streets of his youth. When alone it was all the same as it was now hard to tell friend from foe yet for whatever reason. He could not help draw to her like a moth to a flame. Seem both out of curiosity as it were a seeming sense of wonder as to how such a being could exit seem both similar at the same time different to the shard that hung around his neck. Alive as it resonated these beings were but then again before he knew it. He had seem strayed somewhat farther out that he felt that he should where in a moment Ronin seem unmindfully came into the other notice.

As in between the other conversing with the twin being and the droid for whom the shadow behind from. His head slightly tilted to one side as he gave a quizzical look and a somewhat disapproving quip glance at them. As the thought linger and passed without being spoken out loud by him.....that is sort of took him by surprise when he indeed spoke.

“Who are you?”

To which he tilts his head to him briefly and spoke.

"A friend..... I hope... name Ronin. Thought I didn't want to intrude...but seem the other stirs as well and there will be no telling ....but just the same I sense danger.... darkness yet unrooted....."

His head turns slightly as from beyond one the halls the rustling noise stirs and seem grow louder by the second.

"....dunno if.... she...it.... can be held back but I can try to buy you time....that is if this works on the count of three... one .....two..."

And with that said he then reach out to hover a hand over the other darker twin as he began to channel the darkness hang heavy around them. Before switching gear to loop it rounds back again seem to create a continues temporary containment of the other more darker aspect. Though the risk involved he went along with it anyway. Hope as he told the stranger to buy him time.....

Too weird to live, too rare to die!
Slow moments pass, long, long slow moment in a dark and horrible place. Then T-4D4 steps back with a slightly surprised start and comments something moderately surprised in binaric as he disconnects the auxillary power hook ups.

"Of course I speak binaric, Tee Four." A smooth, feminine voice that would technically be called a coloratura announces. "I have power to primary motive and limbic systems, I have disabled my auxillary repair and backup systems to avoid consuming any further power. Estimated time to depletion... 45 minutes."

The head of the droid comes up and turns to face T-4D4, then [member="Cassius Droma"] and finally [member="Ronin Wendigo"] - despite being a reflective chrome surface, it moves with the flexibility of real skin and her photoreceptors are an example of almost unique artwork - obviously synthetic, but replicant of life none the less. Much like an HRD without the flesh and synthetic muscles. The rest of her body remains precisely motionless.

"Thank you very much, Master Jedi, Tee Four and... whomever you are, our unknown friend. I am, as the idiom goes, as ready as I shall ever be - and that... loop you are attempting seems quite risky, you imperil your soul with the dark. Do you have a plan, Cassius?"

The way the new arrival – a man identifying as Ronin – spoke, Cassius could tell that he meant them to harm. If anything, he wanted to help by perhaps delaying the other Shard sister from waking up so that they might have enough time to leave.

His attention was completely re-centered on Solari as T-4D4 exclaimed something under its electronic substitution for a breath and retracted, standing back up to his full height. Solari’s droid body began to move, and Cassius couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. Out of all of his previous archaeological finds, as few as they were, this was his greatest.

He’d never seen a droid body that sophisticated before, and she was nearly a millennia old. There was a bit of an uncanny valley effect in the way that only her head moved while the rest of her was completely still, but Cassius didn’t really focus on that.

Cassius was asked if he had a plan. This brought him out of his archaeologist mindset and into one of battle, similar to the one he had when he was piloting a starfighter. “Plan? If your sister is as powerful as you say… we have two options. The first is to fight her, as the odds would be in our favor. You have a limited power supply, though. The other would be to fight her off while we make an escape. There’s a turbolift back that way that should take us close to surface level. I’ve got a ship close by.”
