The Sight will return

"Fear is an odd thing," Lilin said. One thing she really liked about maturing as a Jedi Master was that she could really start to grasp the concept of Jedi philosophies. She no longer felt like all of these rules and guidelines were binding and could finally see the reason behind them. And she definitely liked good conversations about these things.

And indeed, Lilin saw the man as a friend, not as a student. It was a good feeling.

"Jedi are told not to fear anything. Ever," she spoke, looking ahead into the distance. "Yet without fear, what are we? Machines?" A short break. "If we don't fear for our safety, then what are we worth to be protected? If we don't fear for the welfare of the galaxy, who are we to protect these people from the evil? Without fear, can one even exist?"

She wasn't a rebel Jedi, but she did not always really obey to some rules and beliefs. Avoidance of passion and fear was one of these things she didn't like. For a reason.

"Not being afraid of anything is an utopian concept. One that can never be achieved. We may strive for it, but never get there. The Force only may experience it. And I am afraid none of us is the Force. Therefore, none of us can be fearless."

She thought it was enough of fear.

"Anyway, we are nearing the Temple. I am sure you may be slightly tired of the trip here, so I will give you some time to relax once we get there. Maybe have an afternoon meditation only in the evening."

She turned to Aston.

"Sounds OK?"

Aston listened attentively to [member="Lilin Imperieuse"] she made some very good points, points that Aston would be taking to heart as he pondered more about this, about his situation. The padawan knew that in time certain things would be revealed to him, and somethings wouldn't. However right now he wasn't going to discover that, at this very moment. In time he would, probably without a doubt in his mind.

"Your words make a lot of sense, Lilin. Thank you." Aston said showing a small genuine smile towards his Master, just then looking ahead as she mentioned that he might be tired and some rest could be in order.

"That works for me, I'm ready for anything at this point." The Padawan nodded his head as she looked his way.

Later...

Lilin would meet with Aston in the Jedi Temple gardens. She was not too fond of meditating herself and she didn't know what to expect of the Padawan, so she had brought a few different sets of items. Training sabers, some good documents and books on the knowledge of the Force to name a few. She believed in letting the student go their own way, as in not forcing them to follow a set of defined rules and training. She wanted them to be free and learn what they wanted to learn.

She, as a Master, was there only to provide the student with knowledge and experience. And if she couldn't give these two to the Padawan, she would temporarily direct him to some other person. It looked like a more logical way of training than the one most Orders seemed to use.

The girl was seated on the grass in the gardens below a tree. It was quiet that evening -- very few other people were nearby, most of them meditating, some others just trying to clean their minds of worries. Many people saw just walking and doing some work in the gardens as a way to think and come up with solutions to different problems.

She herself used that quite often, because like said, meditation was not for her.

Aston ended up getting some rest, a little too much rest when he awoke with a start glancing over towards the clock. "Chit...." He muttered with a rather annoyed tone of voice as he jumped up quickly enough and left his room in quite the rush that he almost forgot to close his door as he had to double back and make sure the door was indeed shut. Aston hurried down the halls towards the Garden that his Master had instructed him to be at, much earlier in the day.

Aston came to a complete stop as he entered the gardens taking a big not that others were already there and he gave a slightly nervous chuckle to those that had glanced towards him, giving a friendly awkward wave he hurried past them and found his Master sitting beneath a tree.

Aston drew on a deep breath as he approached and in turn took a seat as well, his hands resting on his thighs.

"Good evening Lilin? Did you get any rest?" The Jedi padawan said in a very quiet voice. [member="Liliane Lancaster"]
