Private The Shattered Perception

Draven heard her call to him instructing him to call for her when he finished. Draven gave a short nod in response while he focused. Draven was aware everything needed to be done with the finest of accuracy. Otherwise, you were a large multitude of problems which could stem from a mishap. Draven pulled out his primary crystal and once more focused upon it. As he continued to place his force signature upon the stone. He continued to observe it gave him a sense of hyper awareness about his surroundings. Such as the fact his tutor was doing pull ups not too far away. At the same time, it had a grounded and focused nature to it as well. Making completing the task more prevalent. Draven felt a sense like the crystal itself was much akin to the elemental philosophies some scholars would talk about. A sort of clairvoyance akin to air.. Stability akin to earth. The crystal had yet to reveal properties similar to water, or fire yet. Though Draven had the sense those would come in time.

Draven focused upon placing the required number of crystals into their placements. Using the Force a bit more heavily for this portion as he needed to make sure the alignment was flawless. This took a lot more time than most of the other steps. While every step was important. The alignment was one of the parts that could seriously harm the operator if done improperly. Eventually the padawan fitted the crystals in and began to wrap up the internals. Deciding against an internal activation switch. As he decided he would rather have a weapon accessible when he couldn't rely on the force. Than have a weapon only force users could operate.

Draven began to work on the hilt finally. Making it a combination of durasteel, crodium, and slivian iron. Draven added some leather wrapping, and some mild alterations. To cut the shine off of the metal by adding in some mild scuffs. Making it so it would more easily blend with his tan pants. While avoiding being overly flashy if he chose to hide it elsewhere. Draven went for an arbiter like design. As it wasn't too bulky yet still had enough of a body to make it viable for combat. Draven implemented a uniquely designed switch out of some of the left over crodium which was small enough to make it difficult to easily find, yet big enough not to cause Draven too much hassle in flicking it on at a moment's notice. Draven also implemented within the switches slide an additional transition. As a means to establish a locking activator. Draven could easily set the switch into the normal position so the saber would disable if the pressure switch was released as a safety mechanism. While also being able to flick the switch the left to lock the blade on if ever Draven decided to utilize the lightsaber telekinetically. Draven set the focusing Lense and made sure to set the ability to adjust the blade's intensity.

Draven took a moment to look over the saber he crafted. Taking it apart a couple times by hand and reassembling it. Before using the force to do the same a couple of times. When satisfied the way it was constructed. A process which by no means took just a simple moment. Draven found his activation switch and flicked the blade on. A dark green blade snapped and hissed to life in front of Draven. The humming of the blade heating up the air around it as it moved caused his hairs to stand up on end. While Draven flicked the switch back off. Draven then adjusted the blade intensity to a point where it was non-lethal. Before lighting the blade again. Draven then went through a few basic thrusts, cuts, and twirls of his blade. Going between one handed technique and two-handed technique. Getting a proper feel for the balance of his weapon.

Finally, Draven turned to his tutor. While he de-activated his lightsaber once more. "I believe it is constructed to my liking." Draven spoke in manner which was confident. As Draven had been careful in each of his steps, and patient. Which was something required for crafting a companion weapon. Draven was also understandably a bit excited. As now came the more pro-active part of the endeavor. Testing out the lightsaber and feeling how it interacted in combat. Plus, he figured this would let his tutor who had been courteous enough to provide most of the supplies, as well as a pep talk a means to do something beyond exercising and waiting around while a padawan poked at things.

Saki listened to him, largely ignoring him as he worked unless there had been an explosion. She stopped and opened her eyes as she dropped down reaching out. The metal of skirn was bonded to her and she pulled at it... the best function of it was how it could be recalled and the jedi master turned around looking at the blade. Her hand came out to the side as the silver metal hilt flew into it. Smashing through a section of the wall as the heavier design came into her hand as she held it. The sleek look of the solarite metal was important but the internal works were some of the best with its crystal assembly designed for several crystals as she activated the blade with a snap-hiss and golden light. She swung theblade for a moment as it adjusted with the small internal computer system going to her favorite settingss. Broader and thicker blade for slicing through metals and crab armor. "You ready?"

Draven was impressed by the fact the hilt of her weapon demolished a section of the wall just trying to reach her. That and the weapon itself as he took a moment to admire the golden blade's glow and hilt design. Though when she asked if he was ready. Draven lit his blade up once more, being wary he did not activate the locking mechanism. In case he found himself disarmed this way his blade would disengage. Draven took another spin of his blade to get any last-minute feels in, before adjusting his grip to a two-handed style. Placing his blade vertically to his left side, placing his lead foot facing her.

"I'm ready." Draven gave a short nod. Draven readied himself and was bouncing lightly on his feet in eagerness. This was going to be enjoyable Irregardless of the outcome. As Draven was confident within the weapon he designed, that it would hold up as needed.

She gave a nod and moved, the force enhancing within a fraction of a heartbeat her body while surging forward... attacking was easy and the force pooled in her body. Slowly perceptioons to a crawl so that she would be abel to move but alsso connecting. She had been shown how to do it by her master Denko but Darron Wraith had improved it and explained what she had been taught as it was a loop. She ferocity and power was meant to be sent towards and into Draven while he would return it forming a superconducting loop she could feed off of and use to increase her own speed and power. Like a powerful and ultra dangerous kata as the sabers blade shimmered and sslashed... going for a bisection with a small flick and curve to loop around and become another slash attempting the same slash but feeding into a third and fourth. Speed dangerously fast as the juyo form bled into vaapad showing where aggression and any emotion she might have went with a controlled coldness and that like the creature she knew how to strike but couldn't make the several dozen strikes in the blink of an eye yet.

Draven reached into the force to heighten his own senses and physical abilities. He was hoping he could of taking the offensive initiative. It was honestly his best bet against an opponent who undoubtedly outclassed him in ferocity and strength. Though despite calling upon the force himself. He was quickly forced to switch into a reactive pose twisting his body enough to begin blocking the strikes she lashed out with him. Luckily some instruction from Master Ravenna helped Draven understand leveraging better. Draven did his best to intercept her strikes with the mid-section of his blade against the end of her blade while keeping a fluid movement not trying to match her strength against strength. Instead using the momentum of her striking and letting it direct him to her sides. As the momentum of her blade strikes would be enough to aid in his movement if he allowed it to instead of fully fighting it. He only needed to be sure her blade didn't touch his skin, and his blade wasn't forced back into himself. Draven tried to use this boosted directing to attempt to get a flank on her so he could utilize any opening. Not that he expected to find one... Even defending her strikes was exceptionally challenging. Because there was a fierce precision, speed, and masterful execution of each movement.

Draven wasn't entirely familiar with the form she was utilizing. Though he had a conceptual guess. Despite truly wanting to give in and match her ferocity by mistaken it as a reckless flurry. More so amplified due to his excitement about the lightsaber he forged. Draven held an exceptional level of wisdom for someone so youthful and outclassed. As well as an innate skill to determine when it was appropriate to become aggressive, and when it was appropriate to remain composed.

Like expected Draven's lightsaber was holding out well on the defense. Though eventually Draven knew he'd need to try and take the offensive. As he wasn't going to be able to hold out forever, and while his technique was exceedingly good for someone relative to his age and skill class. It wasn't flawless. Eventually Draven let one of the strikes hit hard enough to push him away. In a hope by creating the distance Draven could transition to the offense. Even if for a short while.

She felt the shift but remained where she was.. allowing the force to flow from her to him.. from her blade into his and back again to create a loop that she fed off of... pain, hurt... frustration... emotional turmoil it was all there to feel but she pushed it and bordered... the form was something that brushed but didn't go over the line. A master like Darron used it to devastate armies.. she used it to wreck forces that came against her and her body remained tense when she felt it connect. The boy going backwards to make distance that she surged to close.. her arcing blade twisting and going to slash in a loop but she was also pushing the force throughout her body to augment and quicken the strikes so it would keep becoming a blur of the force. THe energy radiating off of her when she stomped and the stone shifted to create a kick stand she could push off to fly at and corkscrew her attack and go through him.

Draven was glad for the briefest of moments that he'd allowed himself to be pushed away. His stance shifted as he slid and angled himself to a position, he'd gain traction and be able to dash back into the fray. Only to notice at the last minute her kicking up of the stone beneath them to create a ramp. Draven was aware she was about to close the distance with a lunge of some sort. Though when he saw her shoot forward in a corkscrew Draven was trying to process the best response. As he was already in a poor position to be trying to block this, and the problem was trying to determine the angle he needed to catch her blade.

Draven wasn't set up to try and leap above her. Even if he did a leap above or around, there was no guarantee that her blade wouldn't lash out and catch him. Draven did the other option left since leaping, and deflecting wasn't the answer. He dropped into a power slide rushing the corkscrew. Moving to a single-handed grip and attempting an upward slash. Knowing full well his response would either force her to deflect his attack. Which would leave him unbalanced though possibly throw off her momentum or would just result in him getting punished. Especially, as his execution of this was latent due to the uncertainty of how best to transition to handle a corkscrew lunge while trying to be on the offense. Draven was trying to avoid force techniques beyond the enhancement needed to keep himself viable in this fight. As he was wanting to focus on his bladework to test his saber out.

She could sense and see him.. the connection in combat was there while she moved and he was charging at her... a surprise but she stayed there before sliding below her and she waited for a moemnt as he was slashing at her. She used it to keep her blade forward and her hand came free for a moment. To come around and use the speed to try and as her saber was the target of his to block and stop her... her free hand was trying to grab his saber hand and pull him up. A snarl coming to her face as she spun and twisted to try and make it an impressive twist that if connected would jerk him up and around to go into the air with a launch so she could kick off the wall and preform a leaping slash.

Draven felt his saber connect with her blade. That was more than what he was expecting to accomplish with his latency. Draven could feel emotion radiating off her. Really this had been a long time in the works. Draven had just been doing his best to try and guard from his empathetic abilities. Especially, when he was well aware that reflecting the emotion would only worsen his predicament. While the techniques were unfamiliar on an acute level, Draven understood the broader picture. Which was honestly what had saved his hide. Her emotions were malicious. Not in the context of hatred. More so Draven understood her mentality was he was merely an obstacle which she was determined to go through instead of around, and she would go through him. It was a matter of when over if.

Draven spent a lot of time in hand-to-hand combat granting him a thorough understanding when she went for his saber wrist. He was about to be in a world of trouble. Luckily, Draven's saving grace might be the fact he opened up one of his hands as well. He was aware it was still a game of reaction. Only now he was aware of where her blade was positioned in the fray thanks to the connections of their sabers.

While Draven was finding himself in the process of gaining a ticket for the mile high club Draven attempted to react hopefully quick enough to grip her arm and make it a trip for two. He was sure he'd still take the impact of the ceiling though he was hopeful he could prevent any quick follow up, or well partially diminish how bad of a beating he was about to receive. The most likely case though was he'd just make her pause a moment, and then bash him more so for being foolish enough to try and turn this into an aerial grappling contest with lightsabers for added fun.

She was partially surprised his hand to hand was better then he might have let on.... which was good but he had already shown he could surprise so she was looking for something. Her body twisting and rising up with him towards the ceiling. She was fine with that going with him as her head tilted watching him for a moment. Contorting so she was touching the ceiling first and using it for a moment. The blade disappearing as she dropped it towards his form below her. A surprise surely as solorite once disconnected from its bonded force user became heavy..... starship weight as anyone not her wasn't meant to be able to lift it... but it didn't have weight for the impact... more it just couldn't be budged... and she was letting the hilt of the blade go center chest in the air to possibly slam and pin him to the ground.

Draven wasn't quite sure what her game was. Normally, the individual who was spiraling with you. Would let you take the impact as a means to try and break your guard. She had something planned. Though soon it became somewhat evident as he found himself moving downward... With a saber hilt chasing him in tow. Bugger.. Draven did what really he could do best at this point.

Draven focused the force around his form as it began to ripple. It wasn't as heavily charged as her cloak. Though it'd be enough to generate a shield which would allow him absorb a good portion of the impact. He'd seen that hilt demolish a wall to reach the Matukai who was training him. He wasn't eager to discover what the hilt would do to him without shielding. Draven found when he hit the ground however. The impact was not as terrible as he suspected. Still what was a problem for him was he had a hilt at the center of his chest. Which was greatly restricting what he could do, well without employing force techniques into the combat experience. Which Draven felt would kill the spirit of the training.

Saki came down and looked at the padawan as he laid there the hilt in the center of his chest. She crouched down watching him for a moment. "Stay still, it doesn't hurt with its weight but it as you can see can be a real mountain to try and move from under." She said it and lifted the hilt like it weighed nothing. "THe jedi artisans made this metal in a forge... they actually use the heart of a star to make it.... which seems insane but hey the metal mimics solari in ways only allowing lightsiders of the force to touch it, only allowing those in the light to lift it once they have bonded with it."

Saki Saki

Draven was now feeling a little depressed. He did not like the idea of being pinned to the ground unable to move. As his own blade disengaged and he stared at the hilt. Draven missed the comforts of the light. Back when Draven was to his discovery somewhat sheltered from the workings of the galaxy. Perhaps this was a calling to him that perhaps he should try to better check his emotions in the future. Not exactly that it would be simple. Draven had personal reasons he was becoming more on edge as time passed. He was glad when she finally picked it up off of him.

Draven listened as she explained the reasoning for its weight. Insane concepts were not so out of the ordinary for Draven anymore. He after all did have a crystal that sang and spoke. Well not exactly though the sentiment was there. "Another words I would of been quite stuck until you removed it.. I acquired some deep and significant bond with it, or I test my limits within the force to see if I can almost quite literally move a star.. Or at least a fragment of a star." Draven mentioned the last bit more with a somewhat sense of dry humor. Telekinetic abilities was his forte within the force. He was by no means lacking within skill through the force nor considered weak. Though Draven was currently shook in his allegiance teetering a very fine edge of just going dark side to start making change for the better. At least in his own mind. That and Draven still had a very Loooong way to go to understanding the ways of the force. Especially to anything extending beyond the ability to smack someone senseless to leave room to instill actual sense.

There was a look on her face and taking the hilt as she put in on her hip she offered a hand. "Come on, you didn't do terribly... maybe a little rough but that can be worked on." She said it and got up stretching out. "Not a bad warm up, wait until you start the real training." She said it while walking and not making it seem like a joke while she walked over removing some of her equipment and mostly eating and drinking. A warm up and some food before she would go back to pushing herself and training. Saki remained there when she found a section of the wall and started lifting herself up with one arm and eating with the other. "So if you have questions or thoughts share them now."

Saki Saki

Draven sprang up and clipped his lightsaber to his belt. While he looked towards the individual who was giving him instruction. She called that a warm up? Of course she would. Draven did some stretches and loosened himself up. Wasn't really much point arguing with his mentor. As such Draven just prepared for what she had in mind. The road to improvement was never going to be a road for those who didn't expect challenge.

Draven thought about whether he had any questions or complaints. While he looked at the surrounding room. Noticing the damage they had begun to cause. "Do you think we should reorganize this place before we depart it?" He inquired in curiousity. He supposed the temple had staff who could handle repairs. Though at least Draven could save them some time by at least placing most of the mess back in place.

The jedi master looked around at the place and at the boy. She continued to lioft herself up while she was eating but spoke. "I suppose if you want to, this is where I keep most of my stuff though." She said it and only stopped holding herself up to switch hands on the rock and pull herself up with the other. "I am not sure what the next lesson should be so ah... reflect." That was a thing right... you learn something.. do something then you sit and reflect upon it for hours in silence.... Maybe she didn't really do anything like that. "YUou have your saber and have tested it... you don't seem to have questionss thankfully so we can get some of that physical strength up for you."

Saki Saki

Reflect? Draven usually did reflect upon fights even without instruction to do so. After all he needed to think of ways he could have handled everything better. The first was he probably should of dodged out of the way and possibly played cat and mouse in that scenario. Especially when he was initially wishing to open with a combat form which would of been best utilized on the fly. Additionally, Draven would need to determine how to handle that corkscrew technique. He felt he did the best he could in a reactive manner to a technique which he never had used against him. Though he also had to understand that the greatest strength of the corkscrew was it was excellent for confusing and even unbalancing an open opponent. Specifically for the reason it was being executed so quickly and did make tracking the blade's possible attack angles difficult.

Then his mentor drew his attention back to her. Reflection later it seemed. "Strength training." Draven repeated and nodded his head. "I can get behind that." He decided as he reached out with the force and focused as he began to set the panels and wall back into place. Closing his eyes and concentrating to make sure the pieces fit snuggly and were supported well enough when the staff came for repairs it would be easier on them. Of course he doubted it would stay in tact forever though he had least done his part in clean up.

She looked at him as he spoke about being ready for strength training... well she would be able to help with that when she came down and stood there looking at him. "Hmm... well you are kind of scrawny but we should be able to do something about that." She said it with a chuckle though and was looking at him. "Come on, the craftsmen should have what I wanted by now." She said it and motioned as she walked through the halls mostly getting looks that averted from her... she was a master so they seemed to respect the work she had donee and she would defend the temple but most seemed to eager to leave her alone. Going through the hall into the armory though artisans and the workers were set up with everything that they had. New equipment that had been designed getting produced and the jedi forge that had been developed for the temple here like on the ancilla and Ahch-To temple gleamed with a massive slab of metal that protruded out of it.

Saki Saki

Draven was intrigued by the perspective something else had been crafted by his newfound mentor. While he followed her towards the temple armory. Draven once was very disturbed by the assortment of armaments. Now though he understood them more as tools. His problem was now geared to who wielded them. Draven was able to sense the unease of the people around. Without even having to spot them averting their gazes away. Which meant his mentor was probably someone most of these folks had either seen in action or caught word of her exploits.

Draven himself had a neutral to favorable opinion of the matukai practitioner. Primarily by the fact even though smacking things was her specialty. She had at least deemed him a tolerable bit of company. Willing to properly train him up to his skill set so he could begin making some proper change. He did really need to work on his strength. Though he intended to continue training all aspects.

Saki looked at the slab of metal and it was finsihed or at least she thought it was holding the handle and lifting it up. "Ah Master Saki it isn't..." She looked at him and held it. "It looks perfect." She held the massive slab of beskar that gleamed and compared to the others who could barely heft it she was holding it one handed. "But we haven't honed the edges." She shrugged. "It is fine.. this thing isn't going to be for precision. Those neutralizers running around from House Io are dangerous and we need something thaat is going to smash them to bits... not slice them like a surgeon." She looked at it more and moved as the massive blade stayed at the ready but she found a place to test it. "Now what to name you.... something that will strike fear into those droids... big frakking sword is already taken so... hmmm" She seemed to think about it. "Oh I know meet the padawan smacker."
