• True to any part of the Confederacy, many droids can be found around the establishment as well, making up most of the population. Anything from training droids, protocol droids, chef droids, and security droids can be found here, tending to many of the Seolaide's day to day operations, security, and more.

[*]Demographics:

Training Rooms

Source: Ashleigh Dale

The Seolaidehas expansive training rooms, featuring the top technology that can be found around the galaxy. From regular gym equipment to highly advanced training rooms with modularity that can replicate almost any kind of field of battle, joined by form-shifting droids that can take on the appearance of a wide variety of potential enemies, this is the sort of training rooms that many can only dream about.

The training rooms are open around the clock, and any member of the Knights Obsidian can access them whenever they please. Other Confederate Personnel may use it as well, but requires special privileges for the duration of their stay to use them. Those visiting that are not part of the Confederacy may not do so unless accompanied by the Seolaide's guards.

R&D Center
The R&D Center works to support the work of the Mandragora as well as the Ministry of Science. While this R&D center is by no means the most advanced one the CIS has to offer, it does its job quite well, with unique projects being developed in discretion on a regular basis.

Permanent Residences

The permanent residences were made for those of the Knights Obsidian who have made the Seolaide their permanent home. This includes anyone from the ranks of the Knights Obsidian, wherever on the hierarchy they may be, as well as suits set aside for the Lord Commander and the Obsidian Lords. Important people of the Confederacy, as well as guests who come to work on specific projects, may receive permanent residences as well.

Each suit is decked with several refreshers and bed rooms, a full utility kitchen, dining room, small gym room, and equipped with all the advanced communication and entertainment systems a Knight Obsidian could want, for both their professional and personal life. The suits are also primed for the family of the Knights, who are more than welcome to join.

Daily cleaning services are available at a reduced fee, as are laundry services and all maintenance needs.

Temporary Residences
The temporary residences are modest compared to the permanent one, offering single-room studio suits for all members of the Confederacy who arrive at the Seolaide for specific and short-term purposes. The temporary residences include top quality beds as well as small corners for coffee and tea preparation, modest closets, and access to the information terminal the Seolaide has to offer. A few special suits with added security can be found for Ministry of Secrets personnel as well as those who are traveling but require somewhat more privacy than your average visitor.

Domestic Staff Quarters
The Domestic Staff Quarters are where the organic staff receives apartments. The apartments are of good quality, built for sturdiness and made to last. The apartments are big enough to hold entire families, as there Confederacy sees no reason to separate work immigrants from the rest of their families. The area also includes kindergartens and grammar schools, though older children are encouraged to seek their education off planet, in more advanced institutions. Extracurricular options exist as well, as well as a local medical station for your mundane family needs.

Ballroom

It is no secret that the Confederacy loves its parties, and the Seolaide promises to provide the perfect place to host many of their parties. The giant ballroom is entirely made of the highest quality of marble, cleaned every day to ensure the shine does not disappear from it. The upper indoor terraces include buffets, bars, and seating areas.

Library
The libraries of the Seolaide are as beautiful as they are vast. Although digital copies exist for every volume that can be found within the library, no expense had been spared in creating the most beautiful of bookcases and shelves. Lavish couches and seating areas are offered for those who wish to do their reading at the library, but desks for work with data as well a working terminals can be found as well. Anyone attempting to enter with any source of fire, or attempts to start a fire inside, whether intentional or not, will be shot down by the security measures. The subjects covered among the books vary going from history and various kinds of science, to trashy romance novels. The droids know who reads what.

Coastal Defense System- "Hell's Greeting"
Shame on any who believe The Seolaide is anything but a well defended capitol of war. To invade this Fort from the skies is a folly few will have the chance to repeat. although the Fort sits along the coast, it has utilized this geographical placement to host a massive arsenal for it's defense. A few miles off the coast, hidden under the depths of Bothawui's beautiful blue ocean is a merciless defense system. This defense system is capable of deploying a various number of turrets, guns, and cannons in a number of combinations to ensure that any force invading from the skies would meet hell's greeting. The whole of the defense system is kept on stand-by and hidden underneath the Bothawui waters, this weaponry has all been hardened against their significant location and are completely waterproof and functional. The defense layout is as follows:
Plainslands Defense System- "The Hot Gates"
The high grass of the plains lands provides little cover for those approaching on foot. It is nearly a mile's distance from the treeline to the Fort and this entire area is susceptible to the Fort's Mid-range artillery batteries. Still, while the plains are open and difficult to traverse, they are far more than they seem. The entire field is essentially a faux terrain. Underneath the thin layer of dirt and grass is a full metallic layer. This platform, which forms the foundation of The Hot Gates, is capable of altering the terrain for the benefit of the defenders. Not only can the Hot Gates produce cover for those defending infantry units mobilizing to defend the base it can raise enemy units out of their own cover by raising the terrain beneath them. The Hot Gates can easily be turned into a labyrinth of metallic pillars, dividing the enemy forces and effectively halting an attack. There are a number of traps/defenses within the Hot Gates to harass and destroy enemy units, these traps are evenly spread out and are set to slow enemy units more than anything else.
Perimeter Defense System- "Asher's Wall"
If, by some miracle, an invading force manages to breach the first two defense systems then they will be greeted by a favored security measure of the Confederacy. It is a single wall that is capable of being deployed from underneath the base's foundation. Asher's wall is five meters thick and more than one hundred meters tall. A wall made of pure durasteel with a phrik overcoat, it is extremely defendable and can handle sustained fire from standard weaponry indefinitely. To even consider breaching this wall, one would need heavy artillery or the cannons of a capitol starship. The wall surrounds the entire complex and is covered with automated blaster turrets. These turrets have a relatively low range, however they can pack a punch and drown enemy forces down in fire. The wall is not manned by soldiers or droids, and it only serves as a barrier between the interior of the base and the exterior. However, the wall is outfitted with four shield generators, which are capable of erecting standard deflector shields over the base. These are the base's primary shields and are designed to sustain ariel fire for a limited amount of time.

Many thanks and credit go to [member="Asher Malvern"] for putting this section together.

The Seolaide is more than just a fort, more than just a structure for the Pathfinders. The Seolaide is a village onto itself. Years in the work, more than once had it been heralded as one of the more ambitious projects of the Knights Obsidian of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The planning itself had begun years ago, when the Confederacy was but a small purple blip on the map that few thought would last to the end of the year, its blueprints deleted and reconstructed from scratch over and over again.

It was not until Cardinal Vi'dreya became the Dominus Prime of the Knights Obsidian that things began to move. While the project was still slow, it at least advanced then, and the foundations were placed within quick order. The rest of the Seolaide came in with bits and pieces – first came the temporary residencies for those who worked on building it, and then the rest.

True to the very nature of the Pathfinders themselves, the Seolaide is the Jack of All Trades of Knight Obsidian compounds – it hosts everything, from libraries, to an R&D center, to training rooms, to ball rooms, and more. While neither of the utilities hosted by the Seolaide are 'the best' in their field, they all provide ample opportunity for additional activities, training for newcomers, and enough resources to continue other, larger projects.

The Seolaide has seen several changes under every Knight Obsidian leader thus – Dominus Prime Cardinal Vi'dreya, Dominus Prime Elasar Talon, and the new Lord Commander, [member="Hashim"], and it will undergo more change and adaptation in the future, for the Seolaide is very much the epitome of anything and everything that the Confederacy stands for – we can be better.
