Name: Sandali

Designation: Sentient

Homeworld: MYTUS VII

Language: Sulu, Galactic Basic

Average Lifespan: 120 Standard Years

Matures: 40 Standard Years old

Estimated Population: Planetary

Average height of adults: 2.2 Meters
Average length of adults: N/A
Skin color: Black, Dark Brown, Light Brown, Tan.
Hair color: Black
Distinctions: Sandali are easily distinguished by the tribal markings that cover their bodies as well as their rather large size for their human appearances.
Breathes: Oxygen

Strengths:
Healing Factor: The Sandali's bodies have rapid metabolisms that transfer to their ability to heal as well. On their own a Sandali can slowly regenerate any minor wounds in a matter of hours. Major wounds can be healed in weeks depending on the severity, this healing can be sped up with meditation or medical comatose.

Big man on campus: Unlike most near-humans the Sandali's size is not scaled between four and five feet of height. All Sandali men are expected to reach at least six feet in height if not more, their muscle mass and BMI respond accordingly making them a rather large people. Growth for females is very similar because they are generally expeted to be at least five feet in height and often reach six feet.

Warrior Race: Trained from birth the Sandali is a warrior nation with it's own caste system that believes strength will prevail. Even the Sandali's economists are capable of defending themselves with decent skill.

Darkness is our ally: The Sandali have trained from birth in fighting from the Shadow's, making them very capable agents and infiltrators. Though once a Sandali man has reached his prime he begins to grow into his full size, rendering him rather useless in those tactics.

The Force is With us, always: Most, if not all Sandali are born Force-Sensitive. It is rare for the species to be seen with members who are not gifted in the ways of the Force.

Weaknesses:
Reproduction Danger: The Sandali's delicate physical nature makes successfully having children a very dangerous process. Over the years they have learned their advanced growth can be harmful to both the fetus or it's host. They have learned to use mediation rituals to limit and control the growth of the Fetus so that it has a better chance of survival, but even then there is still only a 45% chance of success.

Medical Hazard: Using modern medical technology can sometimes be detrimental to the Sandali. Their bodies are known to react negatively to most common drugs and medicine's, because of this anesthesia and pain killers are not an option. Though Bacta has few incidents recorded it is not advised to use large amounts when treating a Sandali.

Mental Stability: Born with the ability to use the Force and tap into it's nether the Sandali are a truly gifted people. However, the Dark Side of the Force naturally surrounds the warriors, often tempting them to abandon their heritage and tether to the Light. Because of this there is a natural instability that is brought from this struggle between dark and light. Sandali warriors are often known to either fall to the Dark Side or lose their minds to this struggle. Only the most disciplined maintain both their heritage in the light and their sanity.

Born into a dark and nearly desolate part of their home planet the Sandali are no strangers to a hard life. They follow a tribal-caste system that has two major rules. Bring honor to the Force and give honor to strength. Born with the Moniker, "Sons of Darkness," they are a rough reflection of the world around them. The Sandali Kingdom, as it is called, is said to hold hundreds of thousands of these near-humans, each with his own task for the survival of their people. The lands itself are hard rock, covered in a dark shadow. The Sandali lands are known to have spanned over a thousand land miles, only to reveal that a giant Mountain separates the people from the rest of the world. Rather than leave these lands the Sandali settled here, deciding that they should stand against the challenge of living in such a destructive terrain, rather than run from it. Small villages span the entirety of the Sandali lands but there remains one true Sandali city, Mji Giza, The Dark city.

Economy & The Working Class:

The Sandali economy is held up with a large hunter-gatherer system that is maintained by the Working Class. Those who show no affinity for the ways of combat or are no longer capable of such, are tasked to become part of the Working class. The largest of the Sandali's classes they take care of the day to day responsibilities of the kingdom such as hunting, building, and farming near the Kingdom's capitol where such things are possible. Most Sandali workers have long, thin, and sharply defined tattoos representing the long days of work they have done in their lifetime. Workers who failed to rise to the title of warrior as children are given an opportunity every ten years to once again try to rise in status, via a trial of combat. Few truly pass this task.

Belief & The Shaman Class:

Naturally born with an affinity to the Force The Sandali look to the Force for guidance. Like the Jedi they believe it is the Force that binds all the actions of the universe, however their belief is slightly more primal. The Shamans of the Sandali are rumored to have been trained by Jedi Knight's years before the founding of their kingdom. They have adapted to the Jedi code yet most struggle to hold true to both the warrior's code as well as the creed of the Jedi. Many find themselves tempted by the Dark Side in their times as a Shaman, those who do succumb to the wicked tempts of the darkness are banished from the Sandali for the rest of their lives, their souls cursed to be severed from the Light side of the Force forever. Many of the Shamans dressed themselves in the hide's of animals and wore their skulls as masks, showing how they were in tune with the living things around then....in a manner of speaking. Most shamans are elders in the eyes of the other Sandali and are revered for their wisdom and connection to the Force.

Combat & The Warrior Class:

Near the top of Sandali's Hierarchy are the experienced warriors known as the Askari. The Askari are warriors who are in their prime and have proven themselves as capable warriors. With a mastery of the light side of the Force they have taken the first steps to becoming true Jedi warriors. Though most Sandali warriors are fully matured there have been several cases when a young Sandali is granted the title as early as his teens! Though this is rare it is not unheard of. Many of these such prodigies go on to study the ways of the Force under the Jedi, as their ancestor's intended.

Leadership & The Jedi Lords:

In the time of the Old Republic, when the title of Jedi Lord was still a prominent aspect, several Jedi Lord's ventured away from the war with the ancient war with the brotherhood of darkness. These Jedi stumbled upon the Sandali during their pilgrimage. During these times the Sandali were several small tribes split up over miles of land. The Dark Side was consistent among them and they were little more than war-based savages. All of that ended when the Jedi came to the planet, they introduced the clans to the Light-side of the Force, hoping to unify the scattered Sandali. Most of the warriors accepted the Jedi as prophets and saviors, abandoning the Dark Side to join them. Sensing the Sandali's affinity in the force the Jedi began to train them in the ways of the Jedi, creating the first Shamans. Yet the Jedi were forced to leave the planet, the war with the Sith calling them back to their duties as soldiers. Several Jedi Knights were trained within the Sandali, earning the title of Bwana Jedi. Once the Jedi had left the planet their apprentice's took charge and established the trial of shadow and light that was created as a pilgrimage to create more honored Bwana.

Technology level: The Sandali are a simple people, having little to no access to advanced technology there are many aspects of their society that are still held in a stone age. Space travel, blasters, and even advanced structures are currently out of their reach.

General behavior: Though they can come off as aggressive and distrusting the Sandali can be very docile. They often treat strangers with an air of respect, purely because they do not believe in underestimating others. Having been trained as warriors the Sandali love to fight, war is the basis of their society. In the same regard they do also honor life and do not believe in needless death.

History: The Sandali are known to only inhabit one planet, an unknown orb lost to wild space. In their ancient history it is believed they were once a far larger society, devoted to the dark side of the Force. However, something happened that literally wiped away a large portion of their history. As such, their commonly taught history begins with the arrival of the Jedi Lord's, Master Cyn Vaas and his apprentice Vince Ordo. The Two found the Sandali to be a people strong with the Force yet heavily misguided. Rather than brandish them as enemies they sought to learn of the tribes and their history. Once they too realized the Sandali had basically no recalled history they decided to try and steer the wicked people away from the Dark Side of the Force.

After successfully doing such most of the clans united to form the Sandali Kingdom. The Kingdom has over twenty villages and each one is led by a Bwama, a Jedi Master native to the planet. After establishing the kingdom the Jedi Lord's decided that a trial would need to be held before an Askari could aspire to be trained as a Jedi. This trial was a pilgrimage through the galaxy to learn of the Force and those who use it. Most of the Askari who are sent on this pilgrimage seek out the Jedi within the galaxy, learning from them and returning to their home nearly fully realized Jedi. Some, however, await to return to their home before they consider their training complete and ascend to the title of Bwama.

Notable Player-Characters: @Monokna Attauwei

Intent: To Create a Near-Human race that was born and raised in conflicting standards. Creating a warrior race that is constantly overcoming the harsh galaxy that is placed before them. Also to create a Race for Monokna.

'Races' asks for races within the custom speices, here the Sandali, not defining the species on a whole.

This won't do. I'll need to see something listed here. Whether it's well known IC or not is another matter, but Codex submissions will include all relevant OOC/IC information.

You say in the submission that they seek to "bring honour to the Force", and later mention that they're "naturally born with an affinity to the Force". Do you mean to say that they are all Force sensitives? This is not mentioned under 'Strengths', which it certainly ought to be if this is the case. Before I stamp a species where all are Force Users I will need to see another substantial weakness added. You may also choose to tone down their sensitivity significantly.

Thanks
