The Return [TRE/SJO Invasion of Dromund Kaas]

[member="Yidhra"]
Melded minds united in hatred and agony.
The scent of cauterised flesh filled the air.
Searing pain sent the traitor reeling; a grimace, stark in its suffering, carved onto his face.
Crimson hands fell limp and the tool that caused their pain clattered to Kaas.
The Jedi Pureblood collapsed, gasping as shadows filled his vision; writhing as the Sorceress occupied his mind.
Mutual hatred, fierce and pure, was their downfall -- their joint defeat had concluded in twisted intimacy.
As his conscious sunk into the darkness of his mind - and hers - he glimpsed a flash.
A name.
Yidhra.
Then, blackness.

Whatever mystical energy the woman utilized continued to squeeze against the beskar of Mishka's left grieve, finding no give from the metal itself. Mishka hardly even noticed the energy net was there. But as the blue woman failed to continue her chanting and instead focused on other abilities and verbal taunts, the energy net would fade from Mishka's left leg without her even realizing it had been there.

Mishka took her situation in at a glance. The blue woman just stood there, red lightsaber in hand, not moving to press the attack and not moving to strike at Mishka again. Taking up a high-guard, vine cage at her back, Mishka prepared to engage the witch once more. The blue woman's off-site raised towards Mishka. Seeing no pistol or other ranged weapon within the hand, Mishka ignored it. Until she felt invisible fingers upon her throat.

A gasp escaped Mishka's lips as her left hand groped at her neck, desperate to free herself from whatever had taken hold of her. In vain, her armored fingers probed the metal and cloth that lined her neck, finding no foreign flesh or object that would explain the crushing sensation she felt. With a start, Mishka realized that the blue woman was using "the force" upon her. The unholy abomination of the Manda that the Sith and Jedi believed in... Mishka had always thought the magical of the Jedi and Sith were just propaganda... But she could think of no other explanation for what was happening to her.

As blackness began to creep in at the edge of Mishka's vision, she struggled to remember what her old Jedi tutor had tried to teach her of the force...

<Concentration.> Mishka's mind finally recalled. If she wanted to survive the next few minutes, Mishka was going to have to break the blue woman's concentration.

Desperate, and knowing full well the mental and emotional effect of such things... Mishka pulled her right leg back and, with every ouch of strength she could muster, kicked the flat of her Chaab'kad blade as hard as she could.

A pulse of powerful emotion and memories would flood the area. The fear and confusion of an orphan girl looking up as the sky boiled and a mountain hurled down upon her. The panic of slaves and sith alike as they cried out in shock. Those near Mishka's sword would experience these memories and emotions as if they were their own as a brilliant flash of light and energy erupted from the Chaab'kad weapon, kinetic force similar to a thermal Detonator sending Mishka's beskar-clad body hurling through the vine cage and away from the woman and the ball of Darkside energy that smashed into the area at nearly the same time. How the woman fared through the two explosions was beyond Mishka's ability to track as she tumbled to a stop yet again.

Regardless of a person's familiarity with negative emotions, the sudden, unpredictable spikes of foreign memory and intense emotions would be, at the very least, a distraction.

Pulling herself to her feet yet again, Mishka winced and the bruise that was forming up and down her right leg. Blade still held firmly in her right hand, Mishka glared at the blue witch from behind her T-shaped visor. Eyes locked upon the witch's lips and hands, carefully searching for any motion or gesture that could indicate another magical attack, Mishka's hands once more wrapped around the handle of her sword, moving the blade to her left side in an inverted guard of the long tail. With a deep breath, and mindful of the fresh bruise upon her throat, Mishka charged the woman once more. Again, her legs darted upon the ground propelling her three times faster than normal as she sought to close the distance with the woman. Her eyes kept careful watch of the woman's more delicate parts, ready for the slightest sign that would indicate she was preparing another spell.

In the blast of the Force Bellow let out by [member="Velok the Younger"], not only has she been knocked back into the wall of radioactive flames, her own shattergun has been taken off her hands. Also gantries collapsed overhead Velok, too, after several of those gantries ruptured in the shockwave. And the sorry state of the reactor room left in its wake. But she had to jump out of the wall of flames because her armor could not withstand flames of that intensity for that long, much less amid the various dents left by several objects that hit her, including but not limited to, deck plate shards, flechettes. Under these circumstances, she had to be cautious not to exhaust her Force-power too quickly, especially since she could sense that her opponent still have a good portion of his power in reserve.

And then, the machinegun squad that was positioning their two Korriban heavy machineguns side-by-side two decks above the Whiphid, at an angle that placed them behind the wall of flames (and the main exit door of the room) began firing their high explosive armor-piercing incendiary, 12.7x108mm rounds with a muzle velocity of 3 km/s, at the Whiphid to the tune of 3 rounds per second in alternating fashion (the 80 rounds per minute as advertised in the brochure was, in fact, an effective firing rate due it requiring about as much cooldown time as it can fire). Also, the machinegun squad was supported by a few more marines firing the very same BH-27 particle rifles as before at any openings provided by the pile of rubble he caused by the rupturing of gantries. Even if the volley of HEIAP rounds fired from heavy machineguns didn't hit the Whiphid, the explosions of the deck plates around him would cause the deck underneath him to collapse. In the meantime, that was just the distraction she needed to pull a QuietSnipe from the rubble, and hastily firing it in his direction, while not having the cleanest line of fire.

Caid emerged inside the previously caged area just in time to see the blurred form of some girl going flying through the thick vines in the other direction. As an effect of training and experience, Caid typically maintained rather firm control of his own thoughts, sealing his mind from most others. However, he had recently altered that practice in order to assist Athena in her control over the beasts. The result was the effect of seeing memories not his own.

While the influx of memories did perhaps cause a brief moment of pause, it paled in comparison to the torturous images and thoughts that had been planted in his mind by those closest to him. At any rate, the girl had taken a bone crunching trip through layers of thick vegetation, so his full attention was immaterial for the time she was absent from the arena.

As his mental blocks went back into place, Caid offered a brief, wordless glance at the man that still wished to speak. Perhaps it was a lifestyle thing...

The impending return of Mishka was clumsy and predictable. With only two viable points of entry, she had effectively forfeited what little advantage she might have had in being removed from the situation. A motion of Caid's free hand did not block the girl's path. Instead, the tendrils of the Force reached out for her, accelerating her directly in Athena's direction quicker than anticipated.

"Major. Objective three has been neutralized as ordered."

"Objective two secure."

Caid ignored the status reports filtering through the communications gear in his helmet for the time being.

DARK TEMPLE

Catalys stood as the odd one out amongst the twin Sith Lords, when they walked into the temple with a squadron of soldiers behind him he grunts. "What are blasters going to do against spirits?" Then he saw the strange figure standing at the end of the hall.

At first he wondered if this were one of the ancient spirits residing in the temple, but then he noticed their demeanor.

Catalys, a hunter of Jedi, was only all too familiar with his prey. "I will handle this one. I'd only slow you Sith down anyway," he activates his voice modular mid-sentence. Turning his calm tone into a distinctive gruff.

Hoisting the incapacitator off his shoulder, Catalys made sure it was set to stun.

"A dead Jedi has no value." He comments.

Mission: Sink the Tenchu
[member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

The only thing that saved a supermajority of Velok's hide was - all right, so plenty of factors factored in. Bad angles. Hasty setup. Interference from collapsing gantries. A sheet of flame that blocked the gunners' sight - and propagated through the reactor room with the shockwave behind it. The collapsing floor itself.

And the further leaks, fires, breaches, hazards, and instabilities accrued by shooting armor-piercing automatic railguns indiscriminately into a starship reactor.

A bloody, burned, and satisfied Whiphid stuffed himself into close confines to join the hundreds of escape pods leaving SSV Tenchu. From the rear porthole, he watched the Silver flagship burning from its prow and a dozen smaller breaches. He whuffled in amusement, keyed his comlink for pickup, and set about pillaging the escape pod’s medkit lest he bleed to embarrassing death.

Mission accomplished.

"Damage control, we are going to need repairs on the forward reactor room; abort evacuation"

With Velok having escaped using the final escape pod shortly after the floor collapsed underneath him, and only about one-tenth of the crewmen having evacuated using what means there were available onboard, the threat was finally dealt with. The worst is now past her, but there was still much to do to bring the Tenchu back to operational status. There were numerous holes in the reactor room, some of which were caused by the armor-piercing rounds. There were several near-misses close to the reactor, true; yet with cryokinesis, she exhausted most of her remaining Force-energy to put out the wall of flames that Velok caused, and also leaving the QuietSnipe in the nearest weapons locker. Using what little computational and Force-energy she had left, she could now attempt a return to the bridge, as opposed to the CIC, using Force-speed, with all the doors open thanks to enemy sabotage. Also, while on the run, her computational power was gradually returning back to normal. Once she arrived on the bridge, she arrives, a little short of breath after having to run over a kilometer using Art of Movement.

"Radiation levels are getting to unacceptable levels! We have to vacate the system" the captain of the Tenchu reported.

"We'll only make it as far as Caluula in this condition" the chief engineer of the ship reported.

"Let me take the pilot seat" She turned to a comm channel, hailing Julie in the process. "Julie, remain on Dromund Kaas until further notice and transfer your flag somewhere else, I have to put the Tenchu back to Caluula for repairs"

"Roger, roger" Julie acknowledged, while taking a LAAT/i alongside her command staff.

Of course, medvac would not arrive in time for whatever reason. The Tenchu has departed the system before medvac could arrive, but not before Jessica could run the topological calculations of laying in a course for Caluula in her head; as before, she was able to do such a thing without anything more than the Force as a painkiller. Time is short: while the 5,000 that did manage to evacuate, Julie included, the remaining crew continued on with Jessica jumped into hyperspace, making their way for emergency repairs on Caluula.

Samara remained where she stood. If the sith wished to pass unmolested the Jedi wasn’t going to stop them. She’d completed what she set out to do. There was nothing more left for her but to survive this encounter. Besides, the sith dead that haunted this temple could do far more them them than she ever could. A small smile creeped across her lips when the the armor clad hunter approached. He was confident that she would be his payday. And judging by the way he held himself and his weapon perhaps it was true with others. She would have to take care what she did here.

Samara held her hands out as she took a slow step. “This doesn’t have to end this way. Your masters will gain what they desired. More blood today is pointless.” She’d hoped that this one wasn’t this new breed of animal the Sith seemed to cultivate, and instead the logical soldiers of the Sith she’d once helped train.
