The Republic: Red Dawn [ooc/info]

Just to say I won't be back to posting fully until the 4th.

And I've skim-read a few different threads and heard many things discussed, like Invasions and Jedi vs Jedi. So I don't really know what's going on.

So if anyone wants/needs anything that directly affects the Jedi Order, it's imperative that you please either PM or Skype me. I can't be sure I'll pick up every mention in time :)

[member="Patricia Susan Garter"] - Perhaps you could ad this link to the first post so that it is there for the continuation of the story?

Patricia has gone on indefinite loa.

Icly she's given Spaarti info on the clones to danger, and disappeared.

Oocly he's asked to hand the corporation to me, but I told him to cool off for a few days. I'll handle the corporation likely with Taeli later.

As it is, I don't know what will happen if Patricia is now on indefinite loa. Icly, the corporations are currently meeting to discuss how to proceed.

Patricia was involved in the planning of the Gen plot. she is probably very OOc tired since it all blew up in their faces.
I understand her need of LOA.
Thank you for the heads up.

[member="Geneviève Lasedri"] - this is something you should be aware of.

Torn between wanting to pew-pew and wanting to sit back and enjoy my absurdly high profit margin since I cornered the Galaxy's popcorn market as this all started ;)

Whether I am a bit lost in all this or not, I am grateful it happened... It revived interest in one of my few characters whose concept and idea originated solely on this site. Which is nice to do something new really.

I just PM'd Ginny and she got me all up to speed in five minutes yesterday. Easy as pie.

So, if you're feeling lost just send Lasedri a PM. No biggie. :)

[member="Gerion Ardik"] - They didn't get the story they wanted, and people insisted on IC actions having IC consequences they didn't like... So they made the story go poof. Or are trying to. What other people do in response to these actions is still the other writers choices. One thread or a hundred won't change that really... A pebble in the pond spreads ripples, and all that.

In so far as the making go poof... That is at least that is what i'm seeing, though again, I'm not privy to faction boards or private discussions of the Pubs, so I could easily be wrong.. Overall, this had a lot of potential to be a huge arc, and the fact it is being concluded so quickly when it had such a grand beginning and descriptor feels very forced and wooden. Shame. It had such potential.

Well, while people are looking to kinda give the whole thing backlash about how it had 'such potential,' yes, it did, but it was meant to be a plotline which had a specific planned time-line and a specific result. And people jumping on the bandwagon made that result an impossibility. So, why bother? The point was to see off someone who was leaving, give them a cool leaving event, plan everything out and go on.

People didn't know it was a plotline and reacted accordingly,

Even when it was told to them it was one, they maintained their position...

So, with the intended end for a planned plotline blown out of the water, i can completely understand why people want to retract the plot. Or at least re-organize it. This was something meant to be special, and pre-ordained. But everyone wanted a piece of the pie.

Everyone's at fault here. The GR for not reaching out OOCly to the corporation holders, though, with the speed of the responses and the arguments of the players, i doubt it would have changed anything. It seems strongly like this was wanted. (imho) And the others for continuing to pursue a competitive atmosphere when the goal was to tell a specific story, which should have been respected. Or talked about before action being jumped to

Just to clarify.

This plot was dreamed up and planned by a few writers outside of the republic boards.
It was meant to hold surprises, one of them being this grand opening. To hold strings on major plots is lots of work and much pre-planning was required.
From what I gather it became a bit to much when folks jumped in from different angles. They chosed to pull the plug which is sad for many of us, but it is their choice. Perps tend to say that it is the GR. It aint, its different writers who happen yo enjoy using the gr as a staging point for their stories.

EDIT - for the record. I was not one of the writers myself. But from where I was sitting the plot held much potential so I supported it.
