Nathema, originally known as Medriaas, was a fertile agriworld located in the Nathema system of the Outer Rim Territories' Chorlian sector. During the reign of the Sith Empire in 5103 BBY, the planet's ruler, Sith Lord Dramath, was deposed in by his own illegitimate son Tenebrae, who received the title of Lord Vitiate and rulership of Medriaas from the reigning Dark Lord of the Sith, Marka Ragnos. Renaming the planet Nathema, Vitiate kept his world isolated from the power plays of his fellow Sith over the next century, and his isolation spared Nathema from the Great Hyperspace War in 5000 BBY. The following year, Vitiate summoned the eight thousand remaining Sith Lords to Nathema in order to save the crumbling Sith Empire and dominated their minds, proceeding to combine their strength and a superweapon known as Zildrog in a complex ritual of Sith magic that granted him immortality while stripping the Force from the entire planet.

What does any of this have to do with today?

A museum on the planet was out of business, an oddity, but still. In fact the parent company was so heavily in debt, the items on display were going up for auction. One of them was an eye witness recording of the very event that the planet was most known for. So, Connel was there. He was originally there to pay their bill in return for access to the recording, but was too late, so the Shadow called in a favor. One of his informants was there to buy it in his stead.

Connel would be watching from the shadows… heh the Shadow watching from the shadows…

Focus…

Anyway, it was a matter of time, a “hurry up and wait” for the auction to begin. If his proxy won the auction, all was well, if not, Connel would have to act otherwise and respond.

Cross that bridge when you get to it.

Nathema, a curious place just outside of the influence of the holy worlds currently. Yet, despite the obvious nearby state of the Sith Order... People here held a whole mixture of ideals, a cultural hotpot in a way. It held a past, a violent history- One she was already familiar with, the whole story reminded her of the lady of Yalara. Hunger was a thing meant to be controlled, something the girl herself struggled with each day as the darkness within her very blood tussled in its slumber.

However, today was a nice distraction from everything. Vakhari had herself sat comfortably at the auction, seeing if any particular item drew her interest. She was of privileged blood- Beyond privileged actually. Whatever item was to be displayed, if the doctor found it interesting enough... She would have it.

Was it greed that lead her to seek these items? Not really, the young Lutris was more interested in the historical and scientific as opposed to just hoarding shiny baubles and useless nicknacks.

But, what was to be displayed?

Bored… thy name is auction…

It took some time, but the venue hosting the auction had filled up and the event had begun. This was a slow process with each item taking its turn to be presented and bid upon. The auctioneer's voice droned on, and the crowd's attention wavered. Despite the slow pace, the anticipation in the room was palpable, as each item held the promise of being something extraordinary.

It seemed like they were waiting for the unit he was wanting until the last item up for bid… and he was right. Uagio, his informant/proxy was a good card player, so he would be good at this, one would think, and he was. Not to aggressive at first, he knew Connel’s “ceiling” and would not go over it, he also knew how to control the bid.

Unfortunately, so did the two that were bidding against him, One was some kind of collector, and the other, the other WREAKED of the Dark Side. The Dark Sider… Connel refuses to refer to anyone as “Dark Jedi”, was a big man, clearly had been in his fair share of battle, the other one looked to be a bit smarmy. Looks could be deceiving though, and Connel was not there to judge, he was only there to try and collect the prize.

Uagio lost the bid.

The “smarmy” outbid both of his competitors by almost double. The Weequay Darksider was clearly furious, but held back enough to get up and walk away. Uagio seemed unbothered.

Wait… did he just wink at the other?
