History
The Maw Consortium was originally a small ten ship raiding group based out of the outdated Maw Installation formed several decades back. Their leader Void destroyed all information pertaining to his past once they had started to grow, secluding himself in the installation and communicating with the outside world via hologram. None the less the Consortium grew and began to rapidly do so when their tactics switched from plain Piracy to a much broader field of crime. First, Rackteering and Black Markets became popular, taking profits from the sales made in both areas, then as their numbers grew they began to partake in intimidation tactics and extortion. The Consortium then spent the next few decades increasing its wealth and steadily building up its coffers and fleet, finding a old, out dated, and poorly retained Lucrehulk-class Battleship. With this find they spent the money needed to rebuild it and allow for it to become a mobile base which is used much like a space station is, only this space station can use hyperspeed and change systems at will. The ship soon became the command and control center of the Consortium, guarded at all times by either the majority of the fleet. Or when it is sent on diplomatic mission, a fraction of the fleet, though enough to defend it from attacks, is sent to guard it. Dubbed the Galaxy's Shadow, it serves as the constant reminder of the hard work put into expanding and funding the consortium, and perhaps at one time, it can serve as the Consortium's flagship in conquests and heavy fleet operations.
(This will be updated as IC RPs happen, something i have not seen happen much in these.)
Goals
- Elimination of Slavery from the public markets of the galaxy.
- Spread the influence of the Consortium to be able to truly stop slaving operations and governments once and for all.
- Create and control trade routes through intimidation, purchase, or construction of ports.
- Set up Black markets in opposing and allied factions, allowing for leaks in technology and maximum profit.
- Set up Racketeering and extortion operations that allow for more credits to flow to the Consortium.
- Rebuild and Retrofit the Maw Instillation into a fully functioning military and control base.
- Bring set up contracts with commercial companies around the galaxy, allowing for another form of credit flow to reach the Consortium.\
