LuchsHai 2200 Model, before any modifications.

OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a new basis for gnarly technicals.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: The Numari Family Automotive Corporation (The Brotherhood of the Maw)
  • Affiliation: The Brotherhood of the Maw [x]
  • Market Status: Closed Market
  • Model: The LuchsHai 2200 Model All Terrain Cargo Speeder
  • Modularity: Yes. The vehicle can be modified in three ways.
    • Firstly by means of armament. Using the Mongrel’s Howl, or alternatively anti-air or E-webb blaster cannons.
    • The second means is by armour combinations. Although already on a base level rather sturdy, the Maw have taken to fashioning rams and armour around the engine in an attempt to vitiate small arms fire. And no two vehicles are the same due to the haphazard work.
    • Thirdly, the extension of the tray. In the transport variant, the Auxiliary has sought to open the back try, and add fittings to the end. Meaning it can carry an extra few soldiers. Although they will be clinging on for dear life.
  • Production: Minor
  • Material:
    • Reinforced agrinium hull.
    • Glasteel windshield
    • Bantha leather seating
    • Electronic components
    • Durasteel crude, metal armour welded onto the hull
    • Aluminium cargo tray.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Landspeeder
  • Role: Dependent on the modifications provided it can work as a cargo transport, a troop carrier, infantry fighting vehicle or artillery piece.
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Armaments: High
    • Armaments on the LuchsHai are variable dependent on the choices made in it being either a heavy weapons platform, or a transport.
    • In the transport variety one can anticipate the following weapons:
      • E-Web Cannon/Heavy Duty Repeater
      • Thunahvelin [x]
    • In the heavy weapons variant, the following weapons can be fitted on:
      • Mongrels Howl [x]
      • Anti-Air Flak
      • Turbolaser
      • Thundahvelin
      • E-Web Cannon/Heavy Duty Repeater
  • Defenses: Low
    • Flare Launchers: Having to be launched manually by the flicking of a lever, these are the only real protection a LuchsHai has against smart munitions.
    • Armour Plating: The Maw have taken it on themselves to weld on some armour plates, allowing for their new vehicle to take some hits. Nominally small arms fire. But against conventional armour, it does not stand up.
  • Maneuverability Rating: High
  • Speed Rating: High
  • Propulsion: Repuslorlift
  • Cargo Capacity: Average
  • Minimum Crew: One.
  • Optimal Crew:
    • In an artillery or heavy weapons capacity you would have:
      • 1x Driver
      • 3x Gunner
        • 1x For the weapons system
        • 1x For Thundahvelins
        • 1x For the E-Web or repeater weapon
      • 1x Loader
      • 1x Navigator/Spotter
    • In a more troop transport capacity:
      • 1x Driver
      • 1x Navigator
      • 2x Gunner
        • 1x gunner mounted on an E-Web or repeater weapon
        • 1x Armed with Thundahvelins
  • Passenger Capacity: Large
    • 14x Passengers
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Flare Launcher : A Maw initiative, the LuchsHai is fitted with a flare launcher as a means to stop smart missiles and lock on munitions.
  • Mongrels Howl [x]: Fitted only on heavy weapons vehicles, the Mongrels Howl is a veritable monster. The variant mounted on the LuchsHai is the 30 rocket variant, allowing for quite some spread compared to larger, immobile iterations. But, a relatively slow relead cycle.
  • Thundahvelins [x]: The ideal Auxiliary weapon, an explosive charge mounted on the end of a usually pointy stick. The Thundahvelin are easily mountable on a LuchsHai, either strapped to the side to the hull so they can be grabbed and poked at. Stuck on the front as some explosive lance. Or hung nice and all from the side of the back tray. Easy to grab, and easier to throw.
  • Armour Plating: The Maw have tried their best with strapping and armouring up the LuchsHai vehicles. Scavenging scrap, they weld these to exposed parts of the engine, and generators and other key areas as a means to protect them. Or as additions, be it a ram to crush enemies with, or as an extension to the back tray for extra capacity. No two LuchsHai vehicles are truly the same, as all scrapped is sourced from different sources, of different grade, and each vehicle typically has a different team shabbily working it.
  • E-Web/Heavy Repeater Blaster: Using either salvaged E-Webs, or other similar weapons, these are mounted at the back of the cockpit of the LuchsHai, with a standing gunner. They can’t turn a fully 180 degrees, but they do have roughly 80 degrees, with the operator of the weapons system often acting as a means to suppress enemies while depositing friendlies in a fire zone, or alternatively as an anti-personnel suppressive weapon on the heavy weapon variant.
STRENGTHS
  • Easily Modifiable: The LuchsHai because of its ease of weight can be easily configured to most battlefield settings by a crew with some spanners and elbow grease.
  • Guerrilla Operator: Ideal for guerrilla operations, the LuchsHai is a series of vehicle easily maintained. Light, manoeuvrable and easy to conceal and able to run almost anywhere without question.
  • Speedy: The LuchsHai was and is considered one of the more capable utility vehicles produced. Able to attain speeds normally unattainable for its class and handling very well.
WEAKNESSES
  • Anti-Tank Capacity: The LuchsHai is a smaller vehicle, and while it can be configured with anti-armour armaments. However if it were to go one on one with heavier armour, due to its light armour it would more often than not be destroyed.
  • Anti-Air Capacity: Anti-Air weapons can be put on the back of a LuchsHai, but they are vulnerable to air attack given these weapons are manually aimed.
DESCRIPTION
The LuchsHai was at one point the greatest engineering feat of the Numari Family Automotive Company, a Chiss industrial concern which was concerned with the production of heavy construction equipment. The LuchsHai was meant to be the revolutionary Utility vehicle which was to skyrocket across the market. A durable, quick design able to traverse anything from the deserts of Tatooine to the tundra of Csilla. With an ergonomic back tray, able to haul a cargo about eight times its weight without breaking a sweat.

However, before the design could be put into real production at a remote distribution and manufacturing station deep in the Unknown Regions, the Numari Company ceased to exist. It’s headquarters, executives and 98% of its middle management were killed in the annihilation of Csilla by the Brotherhood of the Maw.

It would ironically be elements of the Maw, specifically its Auxiliary, a loose band of raider tribesmen beneath its banner who would find the LuchsHai, in a production facility abandoned by its staff. The discovery by the warband commanded by Slave Overseer Braygar, discovered the empty factory. And initially was to scrap the speeders found until they discovered their speed and manuverability joyriding them through the empty halls of the factory. Sensing a potential boon, Braygar ordered all speeders packed up, and moved.

The warbands ‘Greasies’ or ‘Grease Thumbs’ were then dispatched to disassemble the vehicles to scrap, as to learn the workings. And in doing so discovered how easily maintainable the LuchsHai was, especially when considering the overarching lack of intelligence and tact of the warband. Records were kept, and dispatched. The Auxiliary began repurposing the LuchsHai vehicles. Using them as either troop transports, or mounting larger guns on the back to spirit them away during battle.

Now whenever the rev of the LuchsHai is heard through the Unknown Regions and Outer Rim, it is accompanied with the bloodcurdling roar of the Brotherhood of the Maw’s merciless slave-soldiers.

Totally love it with the Mad Max vibe! One thing only. You forget to add the Cargo Capacity to your template.
Cargo Capacity: (Please choose a size between None, Very Small, Small, Average, Large, Very Large and Extreme.)
Please fix this. Currently, to reach/keep the balanced ratings, this should be an Average rating.
