CHRONICLE INFORMATION
As the galaxy tore itself free from the horrors of the Four-Hundred Year Darkness in 800 ABY, the various surviving star systems found a broken galaxy that was ripe for re-exploration and colonization. One of these nascent powers was the Sith, who reemerged from hiding in the Stygian Caldera to reclaim their dominion over the galaxy, but they found themselves at odds with neighboring powers who had taken advantage of the decentralized galaxy for their own ends.
To the north was a collective of republican fiefdoms known as the Northern Realms, led by Consul-General Kozi from Mirial. They directly opposed the rising Sith power from Dromund Kaas and had maneuvered their forces to attack the burgeoning Sith before they could become a threat.
However, the Northern Realms were already embroiled in a border war with their Southwestern neighbors, the Grand Duchy of Serenno. After consolidating power against the other Counts, Countess Angelia Valtro proclaimed herself the Grand Duchess of all Serenno and used the world's considerable naval power to subjugate neighboring systems into an autocratic royalist state.
In the Southeast, another power was rising. The corporate rulers of the Tion Hegemony combined their respective territories into one homogenous nation and began attacking and exploiting other star systems from Tandankin to Troiken. The Corporate Sector Authority north of the Sith Empire had maneuvered along a similar path, expanding beyond its original holdings to gobble up several sectors along the southern border.
Darth Sidic, leader of the Sith Empire, organized and marshaled several Imperial legions to strike out against the Northern Realms in what became known as the Hydian Blitz. Ruuria was the first to fall to the Empire and was then used as a jumping point to strike every planet along the Hydian Way towards Telos. Telos itself was assaulted by Sidic's personal armada and was subjected to sixteen months of siege before the defenders finally capitulated and Kozi was executed.
With the Northern Realms broken and dissolved, the Empire absorbed what territory it had already conquered and continued down the Hydian Way towards the Grand Duchy of Serenno. Unlike the collection of individual systems that made up the Northern Realms, Serenno was centralized and possessed a highly capable fleet that stopped the Empire's campaign in its tracks.
Unable to bypass the flexible defenses along the Hydian Way, Sidic devised a plan to sling-shot around Serenno's fleets through the Gordian Reach, and attack Sorrus. The attack was successful in splitting Serenno's attention in two as half of the Hydian defense was rerouted to attack Sidic's fleet, allowing the main host of the Empire's forces to smash into the remaining defenders.
The Grand Duchess was eventually deposed and executed after the Empire pincered Serenno from either end of the Hydian Way, and her remaining forces either went into hiding or defected to the Empire that now occupied Serenno and the surrounding systems.
While Sidic had been leading an attack on the Hydian nations, several other contingents of the Empire's military had been engaging in light skirmishes with the Tion Hegemony and Corporate Sector Authority but never gaining enough traction to bypass their border defenses. Now that all of the weight of the Empire could be levied to one front, both Magister Sienar and ExO Yuval sent envoys to Darth Sidic to request a parlay.
After several months of negotiation, the Tion Hegemony and the Corporate Sector Authority agreed to merge with the Sith Empire as semi-autonomous vassal states. They would retain their own policing agencies and be allowed to govern as they saw fit, but they would now contribute resources, taxes, and military assets to the Sith Empire whenever needed.
And with that the period known as the Imperial-Warlord Conflict came to a conclusion in 805 ABY, leaving only the Sith Empire as the dominant power in the Tingel Arm.
