The Great Exchange (Silver Jedi, Commenor, Iron Empire)

As part of her diplomatic tour of the galaxy as the ambassador of the Silver Jedi Order, Arisa had chosen Commenor for her next stop. The rising regional power had long stood out as a model for peaceful and productive multilateral relations, so she determined they would make for a great trade partner with the planets under the Silver Jedi's watch. For the politically minded Jedi, facilitating economic development was just as important to her as providing security. These two things went hand in hand for long-term stability and prosperity.

Her objectives in this meetup were purely economic in nature, not looking for any sort of set security agreement at the time. Formal military alliances were tricky things where one could suddenly find themselves entangled in messy conflicts out of nowhere. It was usually wise to offer such support on an ad hoc basis.

While she initially only had plans to speak with Commenor, over time she thought it better to involve some other important allies of the SJO who were on good relations with each other, like the Iron Empire and the Kiribian Systems Union. From their headquarters on Izrul, the InterGalactic Banking Clan would work themselves into the conference, the banking group always looking to expand its customer base and influence.

Thanks to the work of her predecessors, the SJO already had an embassy established on Commenor. However, upon her arrival, she found the embassy had seen better days needed some sprucing in advance of the conference. Over the next few days, onlookers would be treated to the sight of Jedi and biots cleaning up the campus from behind the gates. Neither the KSU or the Iron Empire had embassies of their own on Commenor, so she had invited their envoys to stay with them.

The conference was scheduled for a Tuesday morning over brunch in the main ballroom of the embassy. Proceedings were meant to have a loose casual format to promote productive discussion.

About the time it was expected for attendees to arrive, she would sit outside in the foyer of the embassy to personally great them all, all smiles. The Jedi Master was dressed up for the occasion in informal attire, a white silken blouse and navy skirt paired with a cream blazer, neck and arms jangling softly with jewelry as she moved to shake hands.

While she was still technically on the job, Arisa found respite in her diplomacy mission. It was a nice break from fighting that usually took up her time as a Jedi, and it was an area that she very much enjoyed on a personal level. Constant conflict with the Sith over the last decade had set her on the path of a Sentinel, but she really felt more at home as a Consular, using her words over weapons.

When the news came of the Silver Jedi Order re-establishing their Embassy on Commenor, Kay was quite pleased. The building had fallen into a bit of disarray, which was understandable given all of the conflicts that the Order had been a part of. Allies were important. They helped the economy flourish and detered conflict. Commenor had not been threatened since before the Republic's downfall. And Kay hoped to keep it that way.

She asked for [member="Veiere Arenais"] to join her. She knew that he wasn't much for politics, but Kay knew that the soon-to-be King of Commenor would have a vested interest in such a meeting. She also asked for [member="Darben Skirae"] to join them, given that he was her Minister of Trade and Finance, she had to be sure that she delegated her duties more so that there'd be less stress on her while she continued to recover from her months of captivity.

The Iron Empire she knew of through her meetings with [member="Atheus"] . He had reached out to her and aided her in her continued recovery. It was done in secret however, as the knowledge of her being a Force User wasn't public yet.

Kay walked through the gates, taking a look around at the grounds as she shrunk down her Force signature to that of a small tree nut. The hints of corruption in her eyes was hidden by contacts. She wondered if those would ever go away, or if they'd always be there.

This was her first time visiting this Embassy. The Order had done well with the property. As the trio walked in, she spotted [member="Arisa Yune"] and bowed her head to the woman. "Welcome to Commenor. I didn't get a chance to see you when you had first arrived, but I hope that your stay so far had been a good one." She gestured to her companions, "This is my husband-to-be Veiere Arenais, and Minister Darben Skirae. He handles most of the Trade and Finance contracts for us."

Yuroic had followed his Master to the planet controlled by Commenor, he was curious to see new people and explore the planet. However, when they saw the state of disrepair that had fallen on the embassy all thoughts of exploration were swept away, so he spent his time cleaning, polishing and helping making the place look a strong example for the Silver Jedi. He wasn't much for these diplomatic talks but he knew that he had to follow his Master and learn whatever he could from her, plus it would be good experience if he ever wanted to take an active role in the finer workings of the galaxy later in life.

By the time that Tuesday had arrive Yuroic watched as his Master entered the room, she did indeed look quite beautiful, he turned his gaze respectfully down. He was wearing his robes, freshly washed and smelling of fresh cut grass, he was also well groomed. Shaven with his hair put into a sensible style, he had attempted to do this all himself but by Monday night, realised that it was a disaster and one of the droids around were able to fix his mess. He wanted to do his Master justice during these proceedings and knew that looking presentable was crucial.

Greetings my Master, is there anything you need me to do before our guests arrive? Yuroic spoke in a polite tone, most formal one he could adopt from watching other Jedi interact during meetings.

My aid was noticed, and needed at this time.

My connections between the Commenor people, and its leadership, as well as my placement within the Iron Empire made me quite the influential figure. Having two major factions backing me, and my company, as well as others who I called upon as friends, and allies, My lonely life of the mercenary and apprentice side kick was closing. Times for all out work and no politics are over. While I was the owner of a company, I was still a man who did the dirty work. I was not afraid to do so. Nor would I command others to do something that I would not do myself.

With that in mind, I was already walking down the halls of the Commenor/SJO embassy for delegations as to what we were to do next. I left my mask off once more. Carrying no weapons with me at the moment. All I had was a ring on my right hand. One that looked rather unique. Yet while I seemed unarmed, I was fully armed. With a left arm that could break through metal walls, and able to summon my weapon to me should it be necessary.

I was all decked out in my military armor. As I walked up to stand beside the leadership of commenor, I spoke silently before anyone could get close enough to hear us.

"Good luck with the talk."

It was with one of the leaders of the Silver Jedi who came up and spoke to us. I bowed my head in respect as Lady Kay welcomed Arisa. After she had spoken her bit, I did as well.

"I thank you on behalf of the Iron Empire for joining us today. Atheus. Iron Legate of the Iron Empire."

Jairdain had been involved with the cleaning up the grounds and remaking the embassy to be more presentable to people that might visit. It had fallen into disarray and needed some serious effort put in. Within a short period of a few days though, it was looking considerably better. There was still work to be done, but the day had arrived for what should be a diplomatic meeting of Commenor and The Iron Empire.

The young Jedi already had very lose and informal ties to Commenor having been with the Dominion for a time. However, the people she expected to meet today had never met her or even likely knew of her connection to them. She was here with the Silver Jedi though.

When she had learned of this excursion, Jairdain knew this was the place for her to be. Though she was still young in many people's eyes, she knew she wanted to be a diplomat when she grew up. To be able to at least observe this event would go a long way to start her down that path.

She dressed in her most formal attire, wore her green and black cloak open, the hood down, revealing her black hair and violet eyes. Her top was a dark ivory and pants a dark tan, for once almost matching her boots. While she was not expecting violence to break out at a diplomatic session, her lightsaber hilt was clipped to her belt. It was as much a part of her as the clothes she wore.

At the appointed time of the meeting, Jairdain approached and saw Master Arisa already there with her padawan. She would give the Jedi a nod and a quiet smile accompanied by a slight blush to Yuroic as she took her place next to him. In the time she had been back with the Silver Jedi, she had gotten to know the man next to her on very deep level and wondered silently where their relationship was going. At the level they knew one another, the only direction was forward and she felt confident in their future together.

Turning to look at their guests as they arrived, Jairdain would offer a friendly smile and hand shake if that was the custom here.

"I am Jairdain Ismet, Jedi Knight."

While [member="Lady Kay"] had ties to the Silver Jedi Order and the Dominion both, they did not extend so deeply as Veiere's had. [member="Atheus"] on the other had and the Iron Empire's agreements with the Commenori people were a testament to her diplomatic approach to politics where as this meeting, this held far greater meaning to the man who walked alongside Kay Larr to greet their visitors within the Embassy that had stood near silent for a good year or so now. Veiere's Jedi Attire was not alike the formal clothing that his soon-to-be wife sported, nor the tradition sense that the Jedi Order had once worn in their duty to the rest of the Galaxy. He had made the tunic and robe himself to accommodate a more neutral stance to his alignment in the Force and a vested personal statement to show that he no longer considered himself a member of the Order of old. The traditions that had once run through him with an immense resolve, no longer held him in place like it had during the Galactic Republic's collapse, his desperate attempts to help them return to their old ways there and try to unite the other sects that had fallen away, had pulled at his dedication and during the battle for Atrisia his faith had all come undone.

Thus he found himself with the Dominion, following the guidance of a holocron belonging to his brother that to his knowledge remained in the next life. In the initial months, Ession had been his focus and he had pulled Commenori interests there to help support the need for steady trade and finance of what would later become the heart of the united peoples. It had not lasted however, Veiere's personal views had clashed with the rest of the government whom still sought a great resurgence against those who had wronged Atrisia, the call for war had been to strong to urge silence and thus Veiere had returned to Commenor, Kay too seeing the need to pull back on their former trade agreements in the interest of keeping their diplomatic relations with other governments in good standing. There had been no contact between Cedric Grayson and Veiere since, and by the reports across the holo-news it seemed he was following well in his fathers footsteps. Something Veiere had hoped the Dominion could distance themselves from once upon a time.

The Silver Jedi Order on the other hand, Veiere had come and gone from on multiple occasions. He held a great admiration for Thurion and [member="Coci Heavenshield"], so too their son Theodred. They were close and personal friends in his mind though their company was rare, the wisdom of the family had been offered to Veiere in times of great need, specifically during Kay's disappearance of which Darth Prazutis had been responsible for. The Silver Jedi represented a live that Veiere had served for over three decades, duty to the Force and to the people through the teachings of the Jedi Code, the training of students and the pursuit of peace. Where Kay had met with Veiere and helped lead him out of his time of Exile on Alzoc Three, it had been [member="Théodred Heavenshield"] that had convinced him before her meeting, that there was still hope for the Jedi in the galaxy and that Veiere was meant for more than mere degradation in the cold isolation of the frozen wastelands. It went without saying that his faith and loyalty to the Silver Jedi Order was a personal one and one that he had no interest in breaking. The people of Commenor sought to be an example of integrity towards a galaxy rife with war, but the Silver Jedi also represented that same example in a far greater claim across the northern regions of the galactic charts. Though the Jedi had changed a great deal since the Order that Veiere once served, he still believed that the Silvers were the closest resembling Jedi to the life that he had loved so faithfully.

As Kay introduced them, Veiere's head lowered in a formal bow as many of the Jedi were accustomed to, a respectable greeting aided with a warm smile glad to see that both [member="Arisa Yune"], [member="Jairdain"] and [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] had arrived and set up shop in the Embassy once more. Connor Harrison had been the one to delegate with Commenor on their behalf long before his descent into the lure of the Darkside of the Force, a man of great grievance to Veiere these days though not a matter to be discussed in these times. He looked to his own for a moment awaiting any final remarks before speaking up in his own welcome of the trio. "We are grateful for the opportunity to play host to members of the Silver Jedi Order once more. I was there on Voss during the recent attack of the Sith, I do hope the capital has recovered since. How fares the Order in the North?".

Darben Skirae gathered a couple of datapads, and put on what he thought to be his usual wear, dark brown leather coat from nerf hide, a grey shirt and black pants. Mute dressed herself in a long green dress, she seemed to like green. Most of what she dressed in was green.

The Minister of Trade made for the transport for him that had been sent to his apartment, and made haste for the destination [member="Lady Kay"] had asked him to come to. The Silver Jedi Order embassy, which was being reestablished. He arrived to the embassy join Lady Kay as well as [member="Veiere Arenais"] to be introduced by Lady Kay to [member="Arisa Yune"]. He nodded his head in a quick bow. "And this is Mute, my assistant." If there was anything to be written down of importance, she would be there to write it down.

Invited by her acquaintance, Arisa to the Silver Jedi embassy on Commenor to negotiate trade deals, Aster, accompanied by her usual escort of guards walked up to the group that had already gathered and seemed to be engaged in conversation. Having only ever been an observer rather than a participant in politics talks, the blonde-haired girl's heart raced as she opened her mouth to speak.

"Thank you for your kind invitation, Miss Yune, and thank you for so generously hosting us, Queen Kay. I am Aster Rose Baelor, Princess of the Iron Empire," her face flushed a bit as she stated her title - one she felt she had yet to earn, and curtsied in one of her more formal floor-length white dress.

"And [member="Atheus"]," she smiled at the familiar face. "I am grateful for your presence here today and will be sure to look to you for guidance," she gave the man a polite nod and began to feel a little less nervous about the meeting with the man in attendance.

I am sure that I will do perfectly fine, she reassured herself. I need to perform my duties so that one day I may be addressed by 'Princess' without feeling that I do not deserve it. Plus, I want to make my uncle proud.

Not wanting to seem like she was ignoring them, but unsure of how to greet the others who had joined their respective delegates in this meeting, Aster gave them a friendly smile that she hoped conveyed she was pleased to see them.

Yuroic fell silent as he heard the other diplomats arrive, to his side he felt the presence of [member="Jairdain"] and returned the smile with a quick flirtatious wink before looking to the diplomats and greeting them politely. He gave each a quick bow as they entered the room, moved around the room silently and offered each a chair to sit upon when they were ready to sit down for the talks to begin. He was amazed by how he was meeting all these powerful and high-brow people, to think he was merely an orphan from Nar Shaddaa.

He was almost jaw dropped when he that a queen and princess were at the meeting. He luckily caught himself before he could make any embarrassment to [member="Arisa Yune"] and kept his composure. He looked at the ladies and was curious what made them royalty, was it their clothing, their look? Would they stand out no matter what they wore? He wanted to ask these questions and more but knew that this was definitely not the time or place for such.

He returned to the entrance of the room and waited upon any more dignitaries to arrive, he was now quite keen to see how the proceedings would go. Though perhaps he was more interested in talking to people that he would have never met if he were back home. He gave another smile to Jairdain before standing with his hands behind his back. Waiting respectfully and quietly, acting as a shadow to the meeting.

Kay smiled a little as [member="Atheus"] came up behind herself and [member="Veiere Arenais"] and wished them luck. She had a feeling that luck wasn't needed. All those that arrived so far had seemed very polite. There was no risk of large egos and personal attacks like at a previous meeting that she had Veiere had previously attended. [member="Darben Skirae"] was lucky to have not travelled to that one.

She bowed her head to those thus far that have introduced themselves. "Thank you all for coming. Do we know if there are any others arriving? If not, then let us get started, shall we?"

There was no doubt in her mind that things were going to run smoothly.

Her newest apprentice, Yuroic, had joined her in the foyer to help with greeting the guests and dignitaries and showing them the way to the ballroom. He had cleaned up quite nicely (at her demand), now looking presentable in his robes. Jairdain, a political protegee of sorts, was also dressed nicely in traditional Jedi garb. She felt some pride looking at them both being good representatives of the Silver Order she had come to know and love.

"I don't need anything in particular," she answered Yuroic when he asked for tasks. "Just go mingle with our guests until we begin the conference."

It seemed like she had presented her apprentice without much to do, but in fact, she wanted him to move around and chat with strangers to learn hot to unwind a little and overcome his anxieties.

After some time, the Commenor delegation would arrive, which included the King, Queen, and their Finance Minister. Queen Kay would stand out in the party with her flaming red dress that was hard to ignore.

"You've both done quite well for yourselves these past few years," she said, addressing Kay and Veiere as she gave each small hug, former Republicans just like she. Arisa herself had come a long way, from a Padawan and soldier to a full Jedi Master and commander of one of the most advanced fleets in the galaxy, which had more than proved its worth in a smashing victory against the vaunted First Order navy at Skor. While the Republic may be gone, each of them still lived their lives and carried out their duties according to the principals and values it had meant to represent.

"Minister Skirae," she said, turning her attention to him while offering a hand to shake. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I imagine we'll be working quite closely together in the coming weeks and months, that's my hope anyway. And hello to you too, Ms. Mute."

The Iron Empire envoy would also find its way to the foyer to exchange greetings. She focused on them as she let the other guests pass, offering handshakes and warm words of welcome.

She brightened as she came in contact with Aster, leading the delegation from Csilla. Even as recently as a few months ago, she would have never thought she would count a Baelor as one of her of her dearest friends, but the galaxy worked in strange ways. Sick of war, she would rather have a Baelor as a friend than enemy any day at this point.

"The Silver Order is pleased to host our friends and allies from Csilla. Now please, go make yourselves feel comfortable."

After personally greeting with the delegates from Commenor and the Iron Empire, there would be a few more stragglers to account for until she could move to join the whole group in the ballroom. The large room was well furnished in a bright and clean post-modern style, though not ostentatious. Along the side of one wall was a long line of tables and bars where people could pick out a large assortment of items being offered up for brunch. Arisa helped herself to a cronut and a small cup of chai before settling down at the main conference table at the front of the room. This would be where the other major delegations would sit as well.

There would be time for more mingling and eating for the next hour until Arisa finally called the room to order to begin, standing as she addressed the room over mic.

"Hello, my name is Arisa Yune, Jedi Master of the Silver Order. I would like to thank you all for coming out here today for this economic conference. In the past, for many of us this wouldn't have been possible as we stood on opposing sides in war. During those tragic periods, it's easy to think of the opposition as nothing but faceless monsters, but in my time of service, I have come to know that we all usually acted with the best intentions in mind. For our family, friends, and people."

"Thankfully, those times are now behind us as we have found a better way to serve the ones that we love and cherish. True prosperity not from conquest, but from collaboration. So I come with you all today with one humble proposal."

"That is the creation of one common market between our societies, where trade and the exchange of ideas may easily flow in a way they haven't since the last golden age of the galaxy, leading to unprecedented progress in our time. Furthermore, we may collectively gain bargaining power against much larger entities as we act together as one economic bloc."

"Now, of course, we'll have to work hard on hammering out the details in any sort of arrangement on this scale, but first, I would like us to get on the same page on a conceptual level, and develop a basic outline of how things may work."

There was applause from the small crowd as she finished her introduced and sat back down to let the other delegates have a chance to make introductions or share their ideas.

((Posting from mobile, I'll clean this up when I jump on a computer in a bit.))

Kay smiled as [member="Arisa Yune"] greeted her with a hug. She didn't interact with her much during her days in the Republic, but then again those memories could have been stolen too. As much as she could recall, Kay had left the Senate, although she was secretly fired and banned from holding office, all due to failed negotiations with the Mandalorians. She paid them off, brokered a ceasefire, yet the Mandalorians turned their backs on that and attacked anyways. And gaining a new President that wasn't friendly with Force Sensitives didn't help either, especially after he had learned of her secret. "You look very well too. And the Embassy looks wonderful."

She walked into the ballroom after Arisa had, no doubt with [member="Veiere Arenais"] beside her. However he wasn't tethered to her. There were probably a few that he would like to talk to and she was content at not being the center of attention for once. Kay picked out a few treats for herself and Sapir tea before heading over to the main table and sitting herself down. It all looked delicious and she took special care in noting what was available. She had a wedding to plan and it was good to know what foods were the best to serve.

Her attention was soon drawn to Arisa as she gave her speech. It was a good one and gave her insight into what was going on elsewhere. War and Chaos ensued, but here there was safety. Kay liked to think that it was because of their continued neutrality, but really it was only due to the trade routes surrounding Commenor that led to and from the Core. She knew very well that herself and her government could be removed by any one of their larger allies. But for the moment, they were safe.

Kay got to her feet and put on a genuine smile, as opposed to a plastered one tgat was most common with heads of state and government officials. "Welcome to Commenor. I am Lady Kay, Queen of this wonderful little world and I thank the Silver Jedi Order for hosting this gathering. The Galaxy is full of turmoil, with war always at it's doorstep. Yet without an economy, without good trade, there would be true Chaos. Here, this is neutral ground. Everyone is equal and can conduct their legal business. You may find some representatives of your enemies here, but don't let that scare or discourage you. There has been no trouble here, no disputes. So long as trade continues and their economies are not hindered, they have no reason to cause a fuss. Nor would they risk putting an end to it by their actions. Not playing favourites has been key to that and a real bargaining chip when it came to turning down the demands of some governments that we don't entirely agree with.

In keeping with that, we cannot offer you more than we have others others. However, that doesn't mean that the Silver Jedi Order and the Iron Empire cannot strike an even better deal for themselves together. As Commenor doesn't play favourites, we don't expect others to favour us over everyone else either. So don't be afraid in thinking that you might be offending us."
She winked. Sure she was serious, yet not serious at the same time. "But I hope that at the end of the day, we will all prosper in some way from today's meeting, whether it be economically or in forging new friendships. Both will serve us all well. Thank you."

Kay sat down and had a sip of her tea. Time to give someone else the floor.

After she was greeted by [member="Arisa Yune"], Aster and the Iron Empire's diplomatic envoy that accompanied her then escorted her to main conference table at the front of the room where she and the other principle delegates were to sit.

"Is there anything I can get you, princess?" Aster cringed at the sound of her title as a member of her envoy inquired. Even though she felt that had yet to deserve it, it was something she would have to get used to during formal occasions.

"A glass of peach ice tea and a cronut cut into quarters, please," she smiled at the man and turned to Everly who stood guard behind her. "Would you like anything Everly?"

"No, thank you," the bodyguard replied with a shake of her head.

"I will return with your refreshments momentarily," the man bowed and made his way towards the table that held the assortment of food and drinks.

"Here are the refreshments you requested," he said when he returned, setting down the glass of ice tea and the quartered cronut before Aster. "Is that all?"

"Thank you, that is all," she dismissed him.

Satisfied that Aster was settled in, the members of the of the Iron Empire envoy who lacked seniority seated themselves at a table chatting amongst themselves until the speeches began.

Listening with a keen interest as Arisa addressed those gathered at the embassy followed by [member="Lady Kay"], Aster's heart palpated nervous for her turn. She had little experience in public speaking.

"Thank you for the warm welcome Queen Kay and thank you for hosting this gathering Jedi Master Yune," she said and smiled politely at the respective leaders. "I am Aster Rose Baelor, Princess of the Iron Empire. We, the Iron Empire are grateful to have been invited to this economic summit between our nations," she spoke with a practised fake confidence and silent admiration for Arisa and Lady Kay who had made this seem so easy.

"The Iron Empire looks forward to the trade deals that may come out of this summit and new friendships that may form," Aster smiled maintaining her facade as she spoke. Lacking the experience of the two who had spoken before her, she kept her speech brief and to the point.

After the various guests arrived and they went into the ballroom, Jairdain fell into step with them. Not in front of or behind, but with them. She smiled inwardly at her welcome here and picked a seat actually separate from Arisa. She wanted to be a diplomat, here was her opportunity to see how well she could socialize without being under supervision.

As the different delegations spoke, she remained silent. Jairdain was with the Jedi and Arisa had already spoken for them. The chairs on either side of her were empty and she sat ready to welcome and chat with whoever came to sit next to her.

Being physically blind, she could not see the beauty of the hall, but she could smell the food. Her stomach let out a growl and she got up from her seat walking over to where the food sat.

Picking up a little of almost everything, she resumed her seat and waited to see if any of these other diplomats were going to approach her first.

Her body language indicated she was open to being spoke to and desired to get to know others.

Darben Skirae sat down in silence, letting Kay do the introductions with everyone. Mute seemed rather cheerful, eyes scanning over everyone with a smile. Darben however tapped his fingers against his knee. The word 'war' always made him anxious. He did briefly wonder what [member="Arisa Yune"] meant by opposing sides, as he did not know anything of any wars that involved Commenor in the past. He followed along with the applause given to her speech.

Inbetween speeches, Darben quickly went to the bar at the side of the room to grab a glass of Commenori Brandy, feeling rather thirsty. He then sat down in time to hear the beginning of [member="Lady Kay"]'s speech. He listened while taking a few sips of the brandy, then sat it down to quickly applaud her speech.

His gaze turned to [member="Aster Rose Baelor"] who then began speaking. Another figure of royalty, of the Iron Empire. He smiled lightly at the mention of trade deals, that was what he was here for. He glanced over at Mute, checking to see if she was doing well here.

I stepped out of my personal shuttle, arriving later than I intended too. Several topics required my attention on Serenno, topics to important to delegate to anyone; especially my "family". I hoped my late arrival wouldn't stir much debate, but I've attended enough of these formal gatherings to know that conversations always drifted into whispers about the late comer. I did it, often. But I also knew not to come empty handed, so in one hand I held my walking cane that served two purposes; neither one important to speak of now whilst in the other I brought with me the finest Serenno wine the planet had to offer. The bottle of blue liquid was worth more than the collective financial standings of some regions in the known galaxy; and it was these regions that resulted in my tardiness.

I slipped through the heavily decorated doors, each door supporting intricate designs of a beauty very few would understand. I had a love of the artisan movement, collecting works of art faster than the artists could create them. I employed several fascinations the galaxy had to offer that continuously drew my eyes, and continuously drained credits from my account. Regardless of how much I paid for this or paid for that, I always found justification in telling myself that nobody would appreciate this more than me.

Inside the great hall, several people were already gathered about; discussing topics that amused them. From experience, not all topics were worth listening to; but as a businessman it was worth taking the time to listen briefly what others where chiding on about. One never knew when you stumbled upon someone looking to throw credits into your account, and as a politician of sorts, it was extremely important to catch glimpses of politics on other planets; to better understand what you can do to alleviate strife on your own homeworld or where to offer aid to those that required it. House Venjuta was not just on Serenno, we were everywhere.

"My apologies," I said bowing my head respectfully. Locking my gaze with the honored guest, I gave a warming smile. "From the finest vineyard on all of Serenno, I present to you this bottle of wine on behalf of the citizens of Serenno and House Venjuta," I said placing the bottle in front of [member="Arisa Yune"]. "We have not been formerly introduced, though I have heard much about you." Taking her hands into my cold ones, I added, "I am Count Marlow Venjuta."

Events unfolding before Yuroic were most illuminating. Mostly toward the fact that there seemed to be a sense of politeness but unnatural so. At least in his mind. He watched from the shadows as the meeting continued. There seemed to confidence, even some who were faking it, Yuroic was definitely one faking confidence. He was among very powerful, both on the battlefield and out of it, and he was unsure of what his duties were during this stage of the meeting. Hence he remained in the shadows and said very little. Observing the proceedings.

The Commenor staying out of a deal was what he was getting from the words of [member="Lady Kay"] which struck him as odd. To remain neutral during these times seemed very unlikely. Perhaps there was a reason for the neutrality but Yuroic thought that to be favouring both sides always ended up being counterproductive. One would be forced to choose. Much similar to trying to be a freelance mercenary on Nar Shaddaa, one day you will just have to freelance to one group and that group alone.

Then he heard the representative of the Iron Empire, she seemed nervous, at least that was what he could sense. Though he could understand why, he too was nervous. What if he farted during the meeting, or burped or anything else that makes a loud noise, disturbing the ongoing trade talks. Yuroic leaned against the wall as he watched the scene unfold, attempting to gather information from the proceedings.

Viathae Qarmast

Mandalorian Exile Jedi of Clan Qarmast
Negotiations on Commenor were a vital key to the survival of the Jedi and hopes for the galaxy to become more united and peaceful once more. With all of these different factions sprawling up and causing mayhem upon the local populations, Viathae thought it would be a perfect time to share her share into the order and assist by joining in the talks. She initially came with the rest of the group, and followed the rest to the conference room, where the talks were being held. Hopefully, these negotiations will go well, and a new ally would definitely help out.

In times of Chaos, neutrality is never an option. Eventually, some crazy warlord will probably attack you and try to take over your system or peaceful hex. It was vital that the ones who were the innocent need to be protected, while the strong are to be kept in line. The strong protecting the innocent and weak, always a good sight to behold. She heard [member="Lady Kay"] speak, and nodded as she was speaking. Lady Kay indeed sounded like a very good person, and does indeed sound like someone who was committed to peace as much as she was. Viathae liked this. She would have to eventually speak with Kay personally later about her views of peace, for she could possibly feel that a powerful ally could be made for herself personally, so that she too can benefit for having another peace loving person on her side.

The Mandalorian folded her hands she listened in with the others, glancing at the main players speaking. She of course didn't wanted to interrupt such a meeting. Though some tea would indeed be nice to have... It would help Viathae allot as her throat felt a bit dry.

Veiere had decided to take the back seat so to speak while [member="Lady Kay"] spoke up on behalf of Commenor, she who was responsible for where the world was today alongside her ministers and the The Order of Commenor whom stood for that very pursuit of peace and neutrality within the Galaxy. It was easy to be a skeptic and Veiere was no different, he knew the risks and the odds that were so heavily stacked against them for their ideals and the general choices of the Commenori Government that had been made, yet despite all the hostility towards one another outside of their sector of space, Commenor had earned nothing but friendship and respect by their neighboring powers, the First Order, the Silver Jedi Order, even the Imperial remnant turned Galactic Empire once again had recently acknowledged them in peace talks with the Mandalorian and the Order of the Sacred Lotus. What had formerly been a small government across a single planet had become a key player in galactic affairs governing across seven planets and connecting numerous different peoples together through their embassies held upon their capital world, offering a place for said galactic powers to come and meet with Commenor but so too other representatives of government on neutral ground in diplomatic interests. When he and Kay had first come to Commenor and spoken about these goals, these incentives for the small world of trade, Veiere had held his doubts but now his uncertainties had been washed aside by their success. There'd been a few bumps along the way, a few assassination attempts that had been fortunately foiled and Kay's disappearance and manipulation by the Sith, though a individual act that was now long since beyond them. Veiere felt confident in their continued ability to meet with the violent nature of the galaxy and challenge it with the pacifist ideologies of the Jedi...-And of course if that failed, well...-They weren't incapable of defending themselves; bringing war to other systems however was not their answer. Two wrongs don't make a right, after all.

He came from a very traditional setting, raised within the Jedi Order before it had been fractured so and thus belonging to an enclave upon the world of Svivren where they had taught the Jedi Code and the utmost reluctance to engage in conflicts. While he no longer remained a Jedi in name, he lived by those ideals in life and continued to teach them to his Padawan, [member="Bradshaw Ku"] who was slowly coming into the fold. Adopting these ideals, they too fueled his ambitions towards politics, though he hated the game, he respected the need for it despite often reflecting on past experiences dating back to the Galactic Republic where words had become an equal deterrent where once they had sought to promote unity; with his faith in the force he met all peoples within equal tolerance, having worked alongside both Jedi and those leaning closer to the dark-side at times. War was the result of judgement, of ridicule and high strung opinions; Veiere sought to abstain from such emotions, such arrogance in order to treat all those that came before him with compassion until they proved to earn otherwise. Between the Iron Empire and the Silver Jedi, he had heard nothing but good things and thus this specific occasion was one of high esteem, yet recently not all had been so successful and thus as Kay returned to her seat, Veiere reached out to take her hand in his from behind the table they were seated, giving it a gentle squeeze in encouragement, glancing to offer her a warm smile in approval.

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Kay watched while [member="Aster Rose Baelor"] gave her speech. She seemed a bit nervous, but that was okay. There was a time way back when, when she was that way too. As Aster's little speech went on, her confidence level seemed to grow. That was good to see.

More were arriving, such as [member="Count Marlow Venjuta"] and [member="Viathae Qarmast"] . There were other faces that she didn't recognize either. But in time she may learn them all.

Her eyes were drawn to [member="Veiere Arenais"] as he took her hand and gently squeezed it. Kay smiled. With the Silver Jedi here, she knew that it was making him happy. Politics was not his forté, yet Jedi Orders were. His work with the Praxeum and the Knights was coming along so well that she couldn't help but be proud. Sure it had meant that they saw less of eachother, but he was never far, and their moments of togetherness was always enjoyed. He was always there for her and always would be, regardless of whatever turmoil befell Commenor or herself. That much she knew. It was one of the many reasons that she loved him.

Kay sipped her tea. Were all of the speeches finished? Perhaps so. She nibbled on one of the treats, her eyes scanning the others seated in the ballroom. Who would she speak to first? Choices, choices. Anyone that met her gaze were greeted with a polite smile. "This is a good turnout Veiere. I hope that it does a world of good for the Galaxy, especially if others followed our model." The Military Industrial Complex thrived on conflict. She hoped that their greed wouldn't force conflicts when there wasn't a need of one. False flag operations were often used for that, and all to fill their coffers. Thankfully Commenor had avoided those too. It was a blessing in disguise to not be one of the biggest players in the Galaxy. It kept them off the radar of those wanting to cause harm to them. For the moment Commenor had no enemies.

However there was no telling of how long that would last....
