A missive would have been sent out to the young man weeks before, a simple coding, a worm within the network, flickering on their own datapad (if they had one), the ATM's they'd frequent to check their credit balance, the terminals they'd use to buy products and stuff. It would seemingly follow him like a ghost, wherever there was a touchscreen they'd be able to look at, they find the message, the directive displayed before them until the moment they'd finally give into answering.

CASPIAN DINN

FEAR NOT THE HUNGER, BUT THE ABSENCE OF IT
DO YOU WISH TO BE SATIATED?

Y|N

A simple missive, a simple message, but if the young man decided to press the 'Y', the message would give him coordinates, a course to the planet of Lianna and a name: "The Red Dragon", which was ofcourse a highly expensive, private restaurant in the wealthiest part of the capital of Lianna; Lianna City...

The first time the message had popped up, Caspian had been more than a little bit... confused. He'd been poking around at the terminal Hard Chrome Hard Chrome had been at when they'd first met, curious about what exactly it was the droid had been doing. Instead of answers he got a question.
One directly posed his way.
Caspian hit N.
He was always hungry. There was no satiating that for him.
The second time he said no, too, then the third. The fourth time he stood and stared at it for a while.
"If I'm fearing the absence of it" the boy would remark to the jellyfish that swam in the healing waters around his meditation sphere's core. "Why would I want it satiated?" When none of them answered the boy merely huffed and crossed his arms. "That's what I thought."
When it flashed on the ship's control screen a few days ago, Caspian finally hit Y.
"Maybe it's Dad" he offered his gelatinous audience in the aftermath, after he had punched in the coordinates he had been given. "Maybe he finally realized I'm not at home."
Beholder docked unseen and undetected within Lianna's Spaceport, tucked off to one side to keep from being smashed into by another vessel. As he disembarked, he tugged the hood of his jacket up over his head and shoved his hands into his pockets.
Busy worlds like this one left him insatiable, all around him the Force lingered in those he passed, some with stronger presence's than others.
Feast... Devour... Consume...
That annoying little beasty in his belly cried for him to do something but Caspian ignored it for now.
Later, he promised. Later they would hunt. For now?
Red Dragon.

Only those who knew the gnawing feeling of hunger, the suffering coming from the utter voracity taking over one's own self would get the juxtaposition, the contradiction in the message. Yet only those who had managed to conquer their hunger, who had turned a negative into a positive, who had realized the truth of the hunger, would realize that it wasn't a contradiction, but a simple truth. When one's hunger had been turned into a weapon, when one had experienced the glorious feeling of being satiated, the absence of hunger felt as a nightmare. For not feeling hunger did not equate to the idea nor the feeling of being delightfully satiated.

The Lord of Hunger's moniker was no lie, it was no exageration. He had taken the moniker not in honor, but in spite of those who had borne it before. Lord Voracitus, Darth Nihilus, each terrifying and gluttonous, but Credius was different. He did not simply relish in gluttony, but sought a way to turn the hunger into a weapon, to remove the weaknesses which came with his nigh unending desire to take, take and take more of the life force, the energy and the very essence of a mortal's existence.

At the restaurant, he seemed to be the lone customer, with no other people in sight. His table was the only one set, filled to the brim with gourmet dishes of the highest quality, supplemented by a bottle of the finest Nabooan Berrywine. Despite the feast splayed out before him, he didn't eat, simply taking a sip from a glass of berrywine in front of him. On both sides of the large space that encompassed the restaurant, the waiters and waitresses were lined up, each with a glazed look in their eyes, the colors their eyes bore had been dulled and their pupils widened as if they were in a daze, a trance of sorts.

"Three days of non stop engorging myself has truly been a delight," The man turned his head slightly to the left, his eyes glancing down to the ground, before he lifted his chin and let out a soft chuckle. "How's the hunt...KRONOS?"

SUBJECT HAS RESPONDED

"Good...I will expect them to arrive soon..."

He paused before his destination, genuinely paused, and stared up at the aurebesh signage like it was written in some foreign tongue.
The Red Dragon
It did not feel like a place his Father would frequent. Did not give Sandman vibes. Nor did it feel, well, like him; Arcturus Dinn Arcturus Dinn reeked of the Netherworld, others might overlook it, smell only his perfumed state, but Caspian had been born in death's embrace and he knew its stench anywhere. Now that he was here, he knew for certain it was not his progenitor that awaited him inside.
So what to do?
"You already answered yes" he mumbled to himself. "That's a contract in a way... Contracts are binding." So he'd go in, he'd check it out, and if he didn't like whoever it was, or whatever it was, he would leave. He had not agreed to stay, had not agreed to commit his entire life, only to answer the call.
A measly hello was an answer.
A bell rang overhead, light and largely inoffensive save for the way its tinkling jingle carried out a little too long. Paired with the almost empty space beyond, it made for quite the uncomfortable entrance. He was met in the foyer by a hostess who did not say a word, she simply gestured him onward like she was expecting him.
His eyes soaked in as much as he could, darting this way and that in analysis of his surroundings. The teenaged boy was used to opulence, to lavish living, his parents were Gods... he was a God. Why shouldn't he have everything handed to him on a silver - no, golden - platter? The Palace back home was a monument to the native's faith, and they had it in abundance.
So he rounded the deep mahogany and painted paper screens separating entrance from dining hall, unsure of what to expect; certainly one vast table filled with food was not it, and yet... it was.
The boy tipped up his chin as he approached, halting at the foot of the table, directly across from the one sat sipping wine. His hands rested on the back of the chair, shoulders back, back straight. Down inside the beast was raging now, tearing at his stomach and demanding to feast. It was not the unending spread of food it craved, however, but the one consuming it.
For his presence in the Force was thick.
"Hello" the boy said, accent one that would not be recognizable. Distinct, refined, but not of the common worlds. "Am I to assume you are the one who has been badgering me?"

The Lord of Hunger
"Oh...badgering you..." The man at the other end of the richly filled table showed a devious grin, lifting his glass of wine towards the young man. "I suppose you could call it that. Still... here you are, and if you end up being disappointing...here you will remain."

From underneath the man's clothes it could be noticed, the wriggling, the strange movement underneath the fabric, while at the same time the room grew colder, denser. It felt as if the pressure of gravity itself was intensifying. Like an ambush predator, unexpected and with ravenous ferocity, several oily, black tendrils seemed to jut from underneath the man's clothes, jabbing themselves into the chests of the servants which had been standing there, awaiting the call the serve and exchange the foodstuffs, never realizing that they themselves had already become part of the menu the moment they had taken their place next to the table...next to Him.

Lifeforce was being drained, bodies decayed, husks turning to dust, even the very souls of these poor sods was not spared the sweet release of death, and by the time the tendrils retracted, all that was left was ash and dust, shadows of a memory. The man on the other end of the table seemed to be smiling, his hand reaching for an artifact, an amulet he seemed to be wearing underneath his crevatte. With a simple pull, he removed the Dolos Necklace and by doing so, revealed the reality, the monstrosity, the abomination within the force that this unyielding, ever hungering monster dressed in the most luxurious fineries truly was.

If Caspian Dinn Caspian Dinn did not sense or smell the scent of the nether before, now there was no mistake...this man's entire being reeked of the Nether, of the void, of the realms beyond. There where no Sith nor Jedi of ordinary status would dare enter, the realms of the end and of emptiness, the smell, the sensation of these realms of madness and suffering, it all clung to the man on the other end of the table. There would be no mistaking it, this was a monster wearing the face of a noble man, few even among the Dark Council of the Sith Order or the great warriors among the covenant could hold a candle to the very density, the enormous bloated and continuous pressure this man's depth in the force seemed to bring with it.

"You have been contacted...out of curiosity, out of understanding...and we do hope to see if you have the potential to rise to something beyond the limitations of those who follow dogma to the letter, who do not see beyond the boundaries of their own rigid and unyielding faith."

Motioning to sit down, to eat and enjoy his time, the Lord of Hunger raised his glass towards Caspian Dinn Caspian Dinn again, taking another sip from his wine as he seemed to calmly observe the young man's reactions, the possible hints of sweat, of annoyance, perhaps of fear and apprehension. He wanted to see the young one's reaction and thus form an opinion based on not just conversation, but observation as well.

"Do you understand the idea of the coiled serpent, which in his endless hunger begins to eat itself?" The Lord of Hunger tilted his head slightly, his eyes squinting slightly in the process. "Those who can not regulate, control and dominate their very hunger...may very well all end up like that snake."

Oh, he had most definitely been badgering the boy... yet Caspian did not seem frustrated by it, merely curious. He hoped that this would not be a waste of his time, of course, there was plenty out there for a young lad such as he to be doing, but he could give the man a little while to prove his worth.
The writhing, wriggling tendrils that burst forth from the man earned him a perked brow of intrigue. Perhaps he ought to have been scared, put off, disgusted, but Caspian merely watched with grim fascination as the bodies that stood around the man's seat became little more than dust on the floor. He could feel their energy leaving them, not just their blood and their substance but their very presence in the Force. It whetted the boy's lips, left his stomach aching.
He went so far as to take half a step forward.
The man himself was now seeped in it, in them, his earlier presence intensified by the magnitude of his feast. It was something Caspian had never been able to manage for himself, he was lucky if he could devour part of a being nevermind their entirety.
And then the mask was dropped, and the boy was forced to take two steps back. He was struck with the stench of death at once, that which clung to those who defied the laws of nature and seeped themselves into the realm of undeath. This man was most definitely not his Father, but he had not given him the credit he deserved upon initially approaching the restaurant. Not his Father, but akin to him. Both beings of the Nether-Realms.
Caspian was too, not by choice but by happenstance. He had been born dead and cursed, and even before his Father had given part of himself to the boy - the part with another curse entirely, that which formed the basis of Caspian's unending hunger - he had a foot in the Netherworld.
Despite the step back, Caspian visibly relished in the man's presence. He could taste it on the air around them, and even without taking a bite the beast inside was feasting.
Caspian did not speak right away, nor did he immediately sit, he simply basked. It wasn't until talk of snakes was made that he rounded the seat and settled into it.
"Ouroboros" he said, quiet but with a certain gravel to his voice. Impressive given he had yet to reach that voice-crack part of his physical development. "Eater of tails and creature of rebirth..." He knew it well, Father had a tattoo that wrapped his arm; it moved, ever-consuming itself. A physical manifestation of his curse, the one he had passed on to Caspian in his haste to see the boy breathe at birth.
"I would not eat myself" the boy said, taking the man's words perhaps a little too literally, "There are always others to feast upon."
His gaze drifted down to the piles of dust that remained on the floor, no doubt being circulated in part by the air-recycling units in the restaurant.
Then he glanced back toward the entrance, where the hostess stood. She wasn't worth the energy, her presence in the Force was so ordinary, but his point was made. He knew hunger in the way the man across from him did, and feasting on platters presented on immaculate tables was far from sufficient.
Even so, he reached out to pluck up a piece of fruit. Variety's the spice of life, after all, and one did not have to eat purely for sustenance.

The Lord of Hunger
"Ouroboros indeed...a sign of rebirth and renewal," The man at the other end of the table waved with his hand nonchalantly into the air, as if to dismiss the notion and the meaning of the ouroboros image as it was interpreted by those who did not understand the danger of uncontrolled hunger. "A false interpretation if I might add. If one is subject to the hunger in isolation, if one is without resources readily available, the hunger will turn upon oneself, for in isolation, the only resource, the only sustenance would be oneself."

Raising his glass once more, another sip of the wine was taken, a swift glance was thrown towards Caspian when he apparently decided to at the very least enjoy perhaps not sustenance, but genuine taste. That was for those with a strange, unending hunger, the only reason regular food existed... to savor and excite the senses, never to subdue the actual destructive tendencies within. Each manifestation of Hunger was different though, some like Revna Marr Revna Marr were driven by the void, by a subconscious and nigh uncontrollable desire, by a creature of the nether, by their own blood, or as it was in the Lord of Hunger's case... by a mutated virus coursing through his veins and in its symbiotic nature pressuring the man to consume. nether-touched, void-dwelling, drenched in the madness of death and decay, He did represent the stage in which one could live a life leisurely, despite the hunger.

However, even he, no matter his might, had been subject and even now, was still subject to the insatiable hunger which gnawed in the back of his mind, which lingered on the back of his tongue. Continuously draining the Heart of Syn just to retain his superior appearance, to stave off the further stages of his mutation.

"Still..." The monster posing as a man at the other end of the table suddenly seemed to take in a deep breath, a soft, devious grin appearing on his face. "You seem to be more akin to one I know... you're nethertouched...perhaps even Netherborn."

Leaning a bit backward in his chair, the monstrous man seemed to relax ever so slightly, though his vibrant eyes remained fixated on the young man accross the table. "It makes it both simpler, but also somewhat more erratic to gain a proper control on the hunger you are experiencing. How does it affect your senses, how does it bring itself to bare..."

Caspian frowned.
"Are we talking about hunger in isolation?" he asked, "I had not realized. Ouroboros is not in isolation, it is said to encircle worlds... some believe it eats them, too, when the time comes, people and oceans and all." He plucked up another piece of fruit, small berries attached to a vine; Caspian ate them one at a time, slow and steady, savouring each in turn. "Besides, in a vacuum I would not exist, and there is always something beyond the void. If one is resorting to eating themselves, they are not very resourceful."
The boy pouted ever so slightly, clearly holding no love for that notion. He was at his heart a wild little thing, he would sooner tear the world apart than simply sit and succumb to nothingness.
As the man raised the glass toward him, Caspian glanced at his own. He wondered if he had wine too, mother sometimes allowed it with dinner though he doubted she'd notice if he had taken to drinking beyond that too. There was always alcohol on hand, always empty bottles... though maybe she would just have another cause to mistreat him. How dare you steal my liquor, Caspian Harper Dinn... He shuddered at the thought. Nobody needed to give Darth Miasma Darth Miasma more reasons to be mad.
With his alcoholic mother in mind, Caspian did not reach for the goblet. He could not control being like his Father, such was his lot in life, but he could avoid repeating his mother's destructive cycles.
"My Father is of the Nether" the boy stated, when conversation turned that way, "He is so consumed by it that it snatches him back without a moment's notice. One minute he is here, the next..." He made a gesture with his hand, like an explosion, and whispered the word "Poof..."
The boy sniffed once, then sat back in his seat. He was rolling a berry between thumb and forefinger as he listened to the man's queries. His orange eyes took him in, truly took him in, his attire, the way he held himself, the goblet in his hand, and the food set just before him.
"You know my name," the boy remarked in lieu of an answer, "Yet I still do not know who you are... That seems unfair, particularly if we're to keep going on like this, no?" With minimal pressure applied, the berry burst.

The Lord of Hunger

"Smart...never be bothered by your limitations, break them even if you have to break part of yourself," The Lord of Hunger seemed to be quite amused with the words uttered by the young man, finding this...hungry child to be exactly the sort of rare gem he had always been eager to mold. "You seem to have strong beliefs, a blunt and direct personality... and you do not seem to be easily intimidated...quite good."

When the explanation came on how and why the child bore such resemblance in terms of feel to the Wraiths and monsters consumed by the Lord of Hunger through his own rift on the Redoubt, the child explained it by putting the blame on the father, further compounding the notion that Caspian Dinn Caspian Dinn was already by default something of an anomaly, an abomination akin to the Lord of Hunger himself. And while their origins may have been different, the paths they had walked wildly strewn from one another, the endresult was not too dissimilar, for this child bore a hunger, a desire to slake their thirst, quench their appetite, to feel content and satiated. However, there was little sign that besides their hunger, there was anything else they took as a necessity for their growth. A rough diamond to be cut, facetted and polished indeed.

"...poof, hmm..." Repeating the word Caspian uttered, Credius allowed the single syllable to roll in his mouth, wondering if perhaps the boy's father might perhaps be just as valuable a target as the boy itself. "The nether does call its own back from time to time...though it has yet to lay a claim on me, despite the age I have spent in its endless void."
"You know my name," the boy remarked in lieu of an answer, "Yet I still do not know who you are... That seems unfair, particularly if we're to keep going on like this, no?"

"I am The Lord of Hunger," The man opposite to Caspian seemed to smile, the corners of his lips curling upwards while he raised his left hand and snapped his fingers. his attire had instantly changed, gone were the purple cloak, the white suit and black crevatte, in their place were a red suit with swallowtailed vest, a black waistcoat and bow tie, a stovetophat and a mask which seemed to amplify the very twisted nature of the man. "To others I am the Dealmaker."

A chuckle escaped the man's throat, muffled ever so slightly by the mask he wore. "Hero, villain, monster, god...The wildcard, the puppetmaster of the Outer Rim, the One who Holds the Strings...I have many a name, many a moniker... but if you truly wish to burn a name into your mind..."

Again the man snapped his fingers, his physical appearance almost instantly changing, hopping and cycling through various appearances, from a withered old man, to a slightly older version of the form he had been displaying earlier, to an old, impressive man with oodles of flair, until he retained the original outward appearance he held several moments ago.

"Credius will do."

His gaze drifted about the room, casually glazing over the remaining dust of those who had previously served the man as though they were part of the decor, before fixing him with an almost bored expression.
"Intimidated?" the boy inquired, raising one brow and settling back in his seat. He did not reach for any more of the food, despite the fact he had consumed three, maybe four berries total. His mind drifted back to home, to tense dinners with his erratic family, to golden cities turned ruddy crimson during intermittent sacrifices; to mother's rage. "And here I thought the goal was understanding."
A short nod followed the man's echoed words, the poof had not been hyperbolic after all, it was a literal representation of the here in a moment, gone just as fast unpredictability of his Father. "Back to Jaquenta, or Masque, or wherever else he seems to haunt in lieu of his family." There was just the slightest, subtlest edge of resentment in the boys otherwise clipped and neutral tone; he held himself to almost aristocratic standards, and with good reason, back on Zaathru the Dinn Family sat at the very top of the pecking order, it was their planet, their people, their pantheon, and they lived each day as Gods among mortals.
Here, in this Galaxy, he might have been just another ordinary Force User, a young boy trying to carve his own way through reality, but his upbringing did not simply vanish because of a change in scenery.
That resentment he held, though, was the first real crack in his facade, a glimpse into the boy hidden beneath years of prim propriety and targeted trauma. Interestingly, Caspian did not allow it to fester into anything more, at least not without intentional pushback from his host, and as quickly as it appeared he had brushed past it entirely.
He watched with grim, genuine fascination, as the man before him shifted into a great many personas, faces and masks and names unleashed upon the boy who sat through the spectacle as though it was a puppet show for one.
"Credius" the boy finally said, once he could get a word in edgeways. He was not one to interrupt a spectacle, after all, and the man most certainly was theatrical. "It is a pleasure to meet you." He tapped his fingers together, hands steepled toward one another just beneath his chin, a look of genuine consideration passing over the boy. "Tell me, Credius, why am I here?" A pause, brief, fleeting, "Why are you here?"

Hunger is not a sin
Tilting his head backwards a bit, the Lord of Hunger looked down upon the young child with a clear air of interest and amusement. to have someone with more intelligence and understanding on the other side of the table was always preferrable to the dogmatic rabble and religious zealots the galaxy seemed to be filled with. "There are always those who are intimidated by any given undertaking, those who quiver at the thought of the long road ahead, who'd rather consign themselves to their fate rather than having the desire to take in the view from behind their own horizon."

Swirling the berrywine in his glass, the abomination in the force flashed a surprisingly gentle smile, listening with great interest to the young man's explanations, but also their inquiries. ofcourse he knew that in the end the most important question would be uttered at least once; the 'why?' was the most pertinent and most informative question after all.

"Why you are here...that is easy, you hold the potential to grow, the clear intelligence to understand that there is never going to be an easy way to reach new heights," The man chuckled softly, as if to communicate his amusement to the latter part of Caspian's question. For one surrounded by Sith, a bunch of fools who'd rather seek out power for the sake of power, usually by means of the fastest, yet not most efficient route, caspian's question simply came off as "why would I listen to you when I have others to help me?". There was practically no doubt that THAT was exactly what was making the young man pose that question in the first place.

"Why I am here is simple," As soon as the last syllable escaped his lips, a strange sensation would begin to manifest within the restaurant, a pull within the force, as if someone or 'something' was pulling at the reigns, devouring the ambient presence of the force itself rapidly, drinking up the very lifeforce which remained. The Lord of Hunger's smile subtly changed, becoming more twisted, more devious. "I am here to show you the way, to guide you and to mold you into a new understanding... break you away from the limitations which hold you down. By elevating you, by pulling you out of the pit dug by the sith and the jedi... I would find more understanding as well, a means to observe if the path I had taken and will continue to walk is mine alone or capable of ending the dichotomy which has dominated the galaxy for far too long."

And yet, for all of Credius' certainty about why the question had been asked, he could not have been furthest from the truth. Caspian did not have others to guide him, he did not belong to any sect, he did not seek instruction from man or woman or thing in this Galaxy. He had always been an outlier, both at home and out here in the wider universe, and so as much as it might have been easy to string him in with other boys his age, who held potential in the Force, it was wholly inaccurate.
"I see" the boy hummed, as he ruminated upon all that had been said. Potential in the boy, and an offer to shape it from the man. It was a lot to take in, and for a short while the boy sat there in silence. His gaze drifted over the spread that lay before them, seeking sense in the mindless gluttony.
"Were you expecting a different kind of hunger, Credius?" he finally asked, "That I might be a voracious little glutton?" A very slight smile pulled at the corner of his lips, before he lifted his gaze to meet the man's unflinchingly. "Or is this merely a metaphor?"
The boys hunger ran deep, but it was for far more than literal food. It was for power, and life force, and knowledge... oh the boy was as insatiable and curious as his Father had been, longing to find out more about each and every thing he came across.
"What if I say no?" he inquired, though his voice did not give away which way he was leaning on the matter. "Am I to end up dust within the air circulatory systems too?" No fear, mind you, just curiosity about where he stood.

Hunger is not just a sin
"Hunger is there in many forms, young one," The Lord of Hunger let out a soft, dry chuckle. he was well aware of the various forms hunger could take, but in its purest form, whether controlled or not, Hunger was desire. The stronger one's desire for something, the stronger their metaphorical hunger. Credius suffered from both the literal case with his mutation forcing him to drain large quantities of lifeforce just to sustain himself, as well as the more metaphorical one, as his desire to overcome said hunger, had brought him to become nigh obsessed with knowledge and the ways to implement such knowledge. he had learned many things, he had visited planets and places so remote and strange they'd have warranted years of study on themselves. However, Credius was also one to be specific, to know what they wanted and more than capable of getting to their desired point through the use of various means.

"One hungers like a glutton, another hungers like a hoarder, even others hunger like a lecher," The man tilted his head a bit, taking another sip of his wine as he continued to observe the young visitor. "If you say no... perhaps I may find other uses for you, perhaps I might give you a little gift before letting you go, perhaps I may simply lock you up and call you a future snack, a future testsubject... are you perhaps hungry to KNOW?"

reaching for his forehead, the Lord of Hunger covered his eyes for a moment, as he allowed his hand to slide backwards across his hair, letting out a deep, raspy laughter. "I wonder though... do you not wish to conquer the hollowness within yourself? Does the piece of the void which you carry not beckon you to fill yourself up to the brim with power and knowledge? Or do you intend to ignore the pain, the gnawing sensation until the only thing left is to become nought but a savage little beast?"

Was he? Hungry to know? To discover what sort of fate the man would conjure up for him if he failed to submit?
"No" the boy said, quite plainly, "I don't think I will leave my fate in your hands." He crossed his arms, and tipped up his chin. "If I am going to work with you, I will do so at my own incessance." He had no desire to be forced, that was so... vapid. "Besides, if you saw me as a snack I'd be gone like the others. Why would you waste your time with the preamble?"
He shook his head, then leaned forward. Toward the food, yes, but his eyes were fixed solely upon the gentleman at the other end of the table.
"Bold of you to assume I am not already a savage little beast" he rumbled, voice low and set somewhere between a growl and a purr. He flashed his teeth in a smile that did not reach his eyes, canines more prominent than one might expect. Not to a cartoonish degree, but it looked as though his very biology was geared toward a certain kind of consumption. As though he had never had a choice in life, though he certainly embraced his more animalistic tendencies.
"I do not seek taming, Sir," he stated, "But... I am willing to see how far your teachings may take me." He tilted his head just a fraction to the left. "The only thing is... I'm a left wondering what you get out of this arrangement?"

He had no desire to be forced, that was so... vapid. "Besides, if you saw me as a snack I'd be gone like the others. Why would you waste your time with the preamble?"

"Ofcourse it has to be by your own decision," The Lord of Hunger gave a somewhat devious smile, as only the right corner of his mouth slightly curled upwards, while his eyes began to gain in vibrancy. "It is simple really, if you live up to your potential, if you physically and mentally break your limits...you prove yourself to be a worthy associate and recipient to not only my knowledge, but also my power and wealth. If you do not live up to the potential you hold...your use would be relegated to be nothing more than nourishment. I think it is not farfetched for you to understand that szuch is simply the way the galaxy works: the strong devour the weak."

"Bold of you to assume I am not already a savage little beast"

Letting out a soft chuckle, the abomination within the force reached towards the young man with his hand, a wave of cold and gnawing dread immediately following, the room seemed to become smaller, the distance between the two rapidly vanishing, it was a means for the Lord of Hunger to simply educate the child and to verify their words as true or false. While in truth it was no more than a force illusion couple to the aura of fear and dread, drenched in a momentary unleashing of his force aura, the Lord of Hunger attempted to see into the depths of Caspian Dinn Caspian Dinn 's deepest and most hidden instincts. Yet this sensation, this moment of overwhelming presence would also be ended quite quickly. With the pressure, the cold and dread all subsiding fast. "Beasts have their own use, savage or not... though it should be said that you at the very least have the gal to oppose me... a perogative generally reserved for those who have already broken through their own physical and mental limits."

"I do not seek taming, Sir," he stated, "But... I am willing to see how far your teachings may take me." He tilted his head just a fraction to the left. "The only thing is... I'm a left wondering what you get out of this arrangement?"

"If you ARE a savage beast...it will be training you receive, whilst it is not necessary for me to tame you, you have to learn to understand how to best utilize your own nature to suit your needs," Tilting his head ever so slightly to the left, taking a sip from his berrywine again, the Lord of Hunger looked at the young man with a rather aloof expression on his face, before showing a twisted, inhuman grin. "A student obeys their master, while I wouldn't ask anything impossible from any who willingly wish to endure my tutelage, there will be things for you to do, for you to experience and achieve which in turn will aid me just the same."

Before the boy could respond in any meaningful fashion, the world around him shifted and shrank, pulling in at the edges until his vision was warped and only the man remained. A sickening twist to his gut was the culmination of the experience, a lurching that almost saw him heaving up what little sat within his belly. Almost. The boy had enough strength of will to avoid it, but his skin had turned a sicklier hue and a thin sheen of sweat formed upon his brow.
It reminded him of the one time he had graced the Netherworld with his presence, held in his Father's arms. He had been just a small boy then, and he had lost his lunch in the process. It wasn't something he wanted to replicate.
After taking a stabilizing sip of water, Caspian drew back and settled in the seat, considering, calculating, then finally nodding.
"I think I can work with that, Credius," he finally stated, still holding the man's gaze throughout it all. "I will not be shackled though," he went on to add, "I will work with you, for you, but you will not see me collared like a dog; I will have my freedom."
Just where he got the notion that he could make demands was anyone's guess, but Caspian wouldn't back down even now. Even as he accepted the man's proposition. He was not stating that he would outright defy him of course, only that he would not grovel and tend to the man's every last whim. A mindless drone knelt waiting for commands in his downtime. No, that was not, and would never be, Caspian Dinn.

"I think I can work with that, Credius," he finally stated, still holding the man's gaze throughout it all. "I will not be shackled though," he went on to add, "I will work with you, for you, but you will not see me collared like a dog; I will have my freedom."

Tilting his head a bit to the side, looking with an expression filled with amusement and interest towards the young man, the Lord of Hunger's face twisted into a chilling smirk when hearing the words being uttered. It was exactly that freedom which had made the man decide that neither the sith nor the jedi were even remotely the right option to explore the very idea of the Force and beyond. even if the Sith called themselves free, they were limited by their own foundation, their apprehension and their internal insecurities. The jedi were restricted by impossibly restrictive dogma and morality. Credius on the other hand, would approve to cooperate, while he'd be strict and harsh, he'd rather have a student who would be willing to seek out knowledge, to seek out power on their own and to add to the collective understanding and the progress that could be made by all who had the Hunger to reach new heights.

"A collared dog on a leash is useless... but a wolf allowed to hunt and accustomed to the hierarchy and the laws of nature is a valuable ally," With these words, Credius made it more than clear that he valued freedom, as long as the freedom did not disrupt his own desires and goals. There would be no rigid structure, he'd help and teach when requested, he'd in return expect service and cooperation. A tit for tat by the most basic nature, with no clear victor in any negotiation, but a fair trade. "I'd prefer you to be a wolf over being a dog."

Tilting his head a bit, the expression on the man's face changed to a more inquisitive one, a bit of curiosity visible within the man's eyes. "That aside, You will have access to the Tomb of C on the Redoubt, call it a safe haven, a place where you can firsthand experience the Nether and the endless opportunities to gain knowledge."

He braced himself for pushback, a slight stiffening in his shoulders the only real indication, then drew a slow breath. It had been a risk to even come here, nevermind to remain, and yet he saw the opportunity for what it was - a chance to grow, to learn, and to become more than he presently was. He had spent the past year of his life aimlessly wandering this convoluted Galaxy of theirs, following his hunger and searching for answers wherever his Spherecraft took him.
Caspian needed more.
"I would prefer me a man" the boy stated, with the slightest of smirks at the corner of his lip, "but I appreciate the sentiment, and I agree with it." He sounded relieved, was relieved, and in the wake of their agreement he reached for his juice and took another deeper sip.
"What is this Tomb you speak of?" he asked, before his brows raised at talks of the Nether. "You have your own rift?" He shifted closer, toward the edge of his seat. "Really?" His Father did not use rifts, he came and went as he pleased... or, as of more recently, as the Nether pleased, but Caspian did not have that luxury.
Then, when all was said and done, he met Credius' gaze once more.
"How am I to address you, and when do we begin?"
