- Dominion Matrix: The Fist of Moridin was forged to embody the supreme authority of its wielder. Every enchantment within this matrix exists to impose will upon the physical and metaphysical world alike. Flesh, spirits, weapons, relics, and even the Force itself may be compelled beneath its grasp, transforming the gauntlet into an instrument of absolute subjugation.
- Touch of the Kiin'Dray: Drawing upon the ancient Nightsister technique from which it takes its name, the Fist magnifies the concept beyond simple physical adhesion into an act of Sith alchemy. Anything seized by the gauntlet is spiritually bound to its grasp, allowing the wielder to cling effortlessly to any surface, maintain an unbreakable hold upon weapons or opponents, and imprint corruptive Dark Side energies directly into whatever the gauntlet touches.
- Grasp of Dominion: Reinforces the wielder's grip through telekinetic augmentation, allowing the gauntlet to crush exceptionally durable materials, arrest lightsaber blades, prevent Force-assisted escapes, and physically overpower creatures vastly stronger than the wearer.
- Lord's Decree: Permanently brands willing servants with Sith runes, establishing a mystical covenant through which the wielder may perceive their condition, issue telepathic commands across vast distances, or channel portions of his own strength into them during rituals.
- Throne of the Will: Rewards absolute conviction. The stronger, more decisive, and uncompromising the wielder's will becomes, the more completely the Dominion Matrix awakens its latent capabilities. Hesitation, doubt, or internal conflict noticeably diminish its effectiveness.
- Unmaking Matrix: Where the Dominion Matrix imposes order, the Hand of Talith obliterates resistance. It recognizes no barrier as absolute, progressively dismantling mystical and technological defenses alike until only the wielder's will remains.
- Hand of Talith: By channeling immense Dark Side power through its palm, the gauntlet attacks the underlying structure of both mystical and conventional barriers rather than simply applying overwhelming force. Force barriers, ritual circles, ancient wards, enchanted relics, deflector shields, ray shields, and containment fields gradually unravel beneath sustained contact.
- Devourance: Allows the wielder to impose his will directly upon lesser artifacts, suppressing, overriding, or consuming weaker enchantments until they bend to the gauntlet's authority. Rather than merely dispelling such powers, the Fist may absorb their mystical energies into its own alchemical framework.
- Seal of Oblivion: A strike from the gauntlet may temporarily suppress the supernatural properties of enchanted relics, reducing legendary weapons and mystical artifacts to little more than mundane objects until the seal dissipates.
- Curse of Entropy: Objects gripped by the gauntlet begin to decay unnaturally. Steel rusts in moments, circuitry corrodes, stone crumbles, organic tissue necrotizes, and enchanted materials slowly lose their structural and metaphysical integrity.
- Conduit Matrix: At the heart of the Fist lies an immense engine of Dark Side power. It continuously gathers, stores, amplifies, and projects the emotional and spiritual energies of conflict, transforming hatred, suffering, and death into the fuel that drives every other system housed within the artifact.
- Dark Side Harvest: Continuously absorbs ambient Force energy from areas steeped in death, suffering, conflict, or Dark Side influence, replenishing the wielder's reserves during prolonged engagements. It may also harvest fragments of Force energy released by dying Force-sensitive beings.
- Aura of Corruption: Radiates a passive field of corruption that gradually stirs fear, hatred, ambition, paranoia, and selfishness in nearby beings while steadily weakening the spiritual resolve of Light Side Force-users.
- Dark Side Conduit: Functions as an immense amplifier, dramatically increasing the efficiency with which the wielder gathers, channels, and expends Dark Side energy without increasing their innate Force potential.
- Null Lance: By releasing the immense reserves accumulated within the Conduit, the Fist discharges concentrated beams of annihilating Dark Side energy from its palm. These lances of corrupted Force power tear through armor, fortifications, enchanted materials, and living flesh alike while carrying traces of the Unmaking Matrix, destabilizing mystical wards, Force barriers, and powerful enchantments before impact.
- Alchemical Matrix: The Fist of Moridin is not merely a weapon, but a complete Sith workshop condensed into a single relic. It serves as a portable forge, ritual focus, and repository of ancient alchemical knowledge, capable of creating, corrupting, and transforming both matter and spirit.
- Sith Amulet Lattice: Permanently houses a network of Sith Amulets fused into the gauntlet's alchemical frame. Rather than functioning as individual relics, their enchantments harmonize into a unified system that empowers defensive wards, regenerative rites, domination rituals, dimensional manipulation, and advanced Sith sorcery.
- Alchemical Forge: Serves as a portable Sith forge, allowing the wielder to engrave Sith runes, corrupt Kyber crystals, mutate living tissue, bind spirits into prepared vessels, awaken dormant relics, and reshape existing enchantments directly through the fingertips.
- Ritual Nexus: Acts as an unparalleled focus for Sith rituals, dramatically reducing the preparation time, concentration, and material requirements necessary to perform advanced acts of Sith alchemy and sorcery.
- Soul Shard of Darth Moridin: Contains a sentient fragment of Darth Moridin's soul, serving simultaneously as advisor, living archive, and corrupting influence. The shard whispers forgotten Sith knowledge, tactical guidance, and forbidden rituals while subtly steering its bearer toward Moridin's unfinished ambitions.
- Obsidian Voidshards: Embedded throughout the gauntlet's alchemical framework are countless rune-inscribed Obsidian Voidshards that generate localized fields of metaphysical distortion. These shards disrupt Force perception, precognition, meditation, psychometry, Battle Meditation, and sustained Force techniques while weakening hostile enchantments without impairing the wielder.
- Sith Rune Wards: Thousands of microscopic Sith runes etched throughout the gauntlet protect it against Force Light, purification rituals, severing techniques, and exorcisms while stabilizing its immense internal energies and reinforcing every other enchantment housed within the artifact.
- Masterwork Sith Relic: One of the greatest surviving works of Darth Moridin, combining Sith sorcery, alchemy, and ancient enchantments into a single artifact.
- Versatile Utility: Excels across offense, defense, ritual casting, alchemy, artifact manipulation, and battlefield support rather than serving a single purpose.
- Dark Side Amplification: Greatly improves the efficiency, precision, and potency of the wielder's Dark Side abilities.
- Barrier Neutralization: Can dismantle both mystical wards and conventional energy barriers, making defensive fortifications significantly less effective.
- Artifact Supremacy: Dominates weaker Sith relics and Force-enchanted objects, suppressing or absorbing their enchantments.
- Power Sustainment: Continuously harvests ambient Dark Side energy, reducing the wielder's reliance on their own reserves during prolonged engagements.
- Exceptional Survivability: Combines powerful regenerative abilities, defensive wards, and resistance to hostile Force techniques.
- Occult Expertise: Houses the soul shard of Darth Moridin, granting access to centuries of accumulated Sith knowledge, rituals, and tactical insight.
- Anti-Force Capabilities: Obsidian Voidshards interfere with enemy Force perception, concentration, and sustained Force techniques without affecting the wielder.
- Ritual Focus: Dramatically enhances the speed, stability, and complexity of Sith rituals, making it invaluable outside conventional combat.
- Corruptive Presence: Passively spreads Dark Side corruption through prolonged proximity or direct contact, weakening both individuals and locations over time.
- Living Artifact: The gauntlet's various enchantments complement one another, allowing abilities to combine into effects beyond their individual capabilities.
- Dark Side Reliance: Nearly all of the gauntlet's powers require significant Dark Side energy to operate at full effectiveness.
- Immense Energy Demand: Its greatest abilities rapidly consume stored and channeled Force energy, making sustained use exhausting even for powerful Sith.
- Moridin's Influence: The soul shard constantly seeks to influence its bearer, encouraging actions that serve Moridin's long-term designs, particularly the recovery of his remaining soul fragments.
- Power Hierarchy: The Fist of Moridin cannot reliably suppress or absorb enchantments created by Sith or Force-users of comparable or greater mastery.
- Barrier Limits: While capable of breaching almost any barrier, exceptionally powerful fortress shields, planetary deflectors, or ancient mystical seals require prolonged contact and considerable energy expenditure.
- Limited by Will: The gauntlet responds most strongly to unwavering conviction. Doubt, hesitation, or internal conflict noticeably diminish its effectiveness.
- Corruptive Aura: Its passive Dark Side influence affects allies as well as enemies, making prolonged exposure hazardous to those not already steeped in the Dark Side.
- Highly Conspicuous: The gauntlet radiates immense Dark Side power when active, making concealment difficult despite its resistance to Force-based detection.
- Requires Absolute Mastery: Many of its more advanced functions demand extensive and apex level knowledge of Sith sorcery and alchemy, preventing even those who have mastered the basics of the Dark Side, let alone inexperienced wielders, from accessing its full potential.
- Artifact Dependency: Many of the gauntlet's unique capabilities cannot be replicated without it, making its loss a significant strategic setback for its wielder.
Forged in the twilight years of the old Sith Empire, the gauntlet was the crowning achievement of Darth Moridin, the iron-willed tyrant who ruled through absolute authority and an uncompromising belief that weakness was a disease to be excised. Master of Sith Alchemy and forbidden sorcery, Moridin poured decades of occult study into the artifact, weaving together ancient Sith amulets, alchemical enchantments, and esoteric rituals into a single instrument of dominion. It was never intended to be a mere weapon, but a symbol of sovereignty, a relic through which the Emperor's will could be imposed upon both the material world and the Force itself.
Among Moridin's inner circle was his Grand Vizier and most trusted lieutenant, Kaine Zambrano. Recognizing both his loyalty and extraordinary potential, Moridin entrusted the gauntlet to Zambrano as the highest expression of his favor. In doing so, he armed his protégé with an artifact worthy of one who stood only a single step beneath the throne.
Moridin's reign came to an abrupt end when he vanished following his challenge by Ashin Cardé Varanin. As the newly crowned Empress consolidated her rule and ushered in an era of rapid imperial expansion, Zambrano declined to contest her ascension, instead serving faithfully as one of her most capable administrators. Yet beneath his outward loyalty, he patiently cultivated his own ambitions. Over the years he subtly manipulated the succession of Sith Emperors, allowing rivals to destroy one another while he consolidated influence from the shadows. Only when his preparations were complete did he challenge Dranok Lussk to a kaggath upon Dromund Kaas, emerging victorious to claim the Imperial Throne for himself.
As Emperor, Zambrano wielded Moridin's gauntlet not only upon the battlefield but as an extension of his political authority, using both its immense mystical power and his own considerable cunning to expand the Empire and strengthen his personal dominion. His reign eventually ended during the Battle of Mon Cala, where he fell before the combined might of the Jedi Council. In the cataclysmic duel, the gauntlet was shattered, its fragments scattered across the lightless depths of Mon Cala's oceans, where they remained lost for more than three decades.
When Zambrano returned as Darth Carnifex, renewed and more powerful than ever before, he returned to Mon Cala to reclaim the shattered relic of his former master. Recovering every surviving fragment, he refused merely to restore what had been lost. Drawing upon his unparalleled mastery of Sith Alchemy, Sith Magic, and centuries of accumulated occult knowledge, Carnifex painstakingly reforged the artifact into something far greater than Moridin had originally conceived. Ancient enchantments were strengthened, new alchemical matrices woven into its structure, Obsidian Voidshards and powerful Sith relics were integrated into its framework, and its every aspect refined into a more perfect instrument of conquest. Though still honoring Moridin's original creation, the reborn relic became unmistakably Carnifex's own masterpiece, earning the name the Fist of Moridin the Great.
The final enhancement came with the recovery of a surviving shard of Darth Moridin's soul, discovered deep within the forgotten vaults beneath the Dark Lord's citadel on Byss. Carnifex bound the fragment into the gauntlet through an intricate alchemical ritual, intending to preserve Moridin's accumulated knowledge and further empower the artifact. Instead, the soul shard awakened into a partially sentient consciousness, retaining memories, ambitions, and an overwhelming desire to reunite with the countless fragments of Moridin's sundered spirit scattered throughout the galaxy.
Since that day, the Fist has possessed a will of its own. Moridin's lingering essence whispers forgotten lore, offers ancient counsel, and continually seeks to manipulate its bearer toward restoring his former existence. Yet the gauntlet now belongs to Darth Carnifex, whose indomitable will has repeatedly subdued the fragment, forcing even his former master into reluctant obedience. Though Moridin's spirit never ceases its quiet struggle for freedom, it remains bound within the Fist, its vast knowledge and terrible power forever serving the one Sith whose will proved stronger than its creator's.
