The Corellia Affair (Metal Lords negotiating with FWC)

The secret sith lord and lead of the merchant fleet fell back on her habits of old and sat observing things. Her Force signature hidden and no outward visible sign of corruption, there shouldn't be any body present that could tell what she was. However, Ra wasn't here as a sith and hoped to never reveal she was one. She knew the Metal Lords' stance on sith.

She silently observed, listened and made mental notes on the participants. Being so very new, Ra did not feel she should speak up. She could have easily in the position she filled the role of, but these people did not know her either. Time would have to pass before she felt she had earned the right to speak and participate. While HK accepted her along with the other Metal Lords, she wasn't sure how these others would feel about her.

"A new kind of net ? " She wasnt sure what that entailed she wasnt tech savvy at all. What was being suggested did not seem harmful to anyone not the Coalition or the Metal Lords.

"The Coalition would support new business. If it protects Corellian interests this we would also support. As previously spoken the Coalition is not here to invade."

She appreciated HK explaining or adding on.

"Membership in the Coalition changes nothing really. Would there be anything that Corellia would ask of the Coalition ? "

An alternative to the HoloNet?

That seemed thinking too broadly. A series of mobile ships and beacons around Corellia however, that was a rather interesting idea. Perhaps one that could be tied in to the astrometric survey ships that Silk and Sasori had buzzing around the galaxy.

As for what Corellia would ask of the Coalition...

"Space," the boy offered simply. "Corellia's never shied from duty, but the moment political ties begin to feel like an obligation, you'll get some resentment," he added. Corellians were, after all, notoriously independent. A trait they shared with Mandalorians. The difference being, a Mandalorian wasn't likely to shoot you in the back while cheating you out of all your credits.

And then stealing your ship to boot.

WD-334 knew not how late it was to the meeting. With it's Tartan-class cruiser it arrived . It had not been to Corellia, not even in it's time to the Empire long ago. "[member="HK-36"], I have arrived late. Greatest apologies" it sent the transmission as the ship approached the point of the meeting, where the droid would then board a shuttle to arrive. It did not know why it had come, as it was not very diplomatic. Perhaps for defense? It did not know it's own reasoning.

Jim was fashionably late as usual, unlike droids, Jim was prone to error. Sneaking into the meeting after he got clearance from the guards he walked towards Ra who was observing a bit further away from the other Metal Lords. He typically had no business here but he decided to see how well the droids can negotiate, seeing as how he joined them. As he leaned on the wall next to Ra he took a swig from his flask, filled to the lid with lum.

“Want some?” He quietly whispered to her.

It was then thought this whole situation was not really sitting well with Ja'rrod but what can one do about it? The order was given and despite her assurance, it'll be all fine Andulf twin sister Adelaide had come out of her semi-retirement. Having gone thru all that she had ....of losing not only their father and then her husband she no less held on with such poise. Where in with reports of Andulf ship being lost and not been able to be hail nor been seen back after one his many business trips. That she thought it best not create nor fuel any speculation or rumor before they were absolutely sure. For all, they knew he probably just been recalled somewhere else or simply running late. So until then wanting to keep the front of all being good and work on the schedule like clockwork. she Opted leave and come the meet in his stead despite the slight lateness of their arrival given that he held back come until the very last moment. Where she'd hope that he'd return when it turns out he hasn't.

At which time once they arrived she then alongside Ja'rrod head off and did their best to discreetly fall in line with the others. That was accompanying her highness on this trying negotiation.

Faith had stared at Corellia for hours wondering what they could offer what the Corellians woyld accept. Listening to Sor-Jan she wasnt sure. "What if we commited resources to Corellia to build. Rebuild." She looked towards him as she had an idea.

"Well. Is it possible using technology that created Starkiller planet. Could we use that to mend Corellia?"

It would take years but was it possible? She wondered if the Coalition had such resources. Manpower. She didn't know. Then the big question would the Corellians want that.[member="Sor-Jan Xantha"]

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
@Ra'a'mah,

HK glanced around the room as he thought he sensed subtle movement, although not really certain why he singled it out above all other, since he was far from being alone in the busy, and ever more crowded, conference room where the diplomatic talks about what should be done on the matter of Corellia and its ownership between the Metal Lords and FWC. Either way, his gaze fell upon Ra who was currently sitting in one of the seats near the walls, perhaps it was chance he decided to focus on her, perhaps it was his heart-equivalent guiding his photoreceptor towards his one true destined partner. Or probably just luck.

Either way, HK would give Ra a nod, wondering how she was getting on with becoming part of the Metal Lords and her newfound vassalage position as one of the heads of merchant fleets. He hoped she was doing well, after all being surrounded by droids was not easy for anyone, not to mention someone of her particular phobias.

At least she would see a lighter more diplomatic side to the machine lords, with them being so willing to give Corellia a free hand to choose their own side.

[member="Jim Pehico"],

Either way, it seemed that Ra would not get too bored during the meeting as someone approached the woman, fashionably late, another new addition to the Metal Lord roster of organic crewmates and higher ranking employees. HK's red glowing eyes lingered on Jim and Ra, perhaps curious as if what their interaction would look like, perhaps afraid they were going to mess up the meeting with some shenanigans, or perhaps the machine was just jealous. One way or another, if Jim would look at HK the droid would give him a nod before focusing on the diplomatic task at hand.

[member="Sor-Jan Xantha"], [member="Faith Organa"],

HK nodded in agreement to Sor-Jan's words,

"Yes, my desk is littered with letters describing that resentment exactly, and threats to what other actions that could take. Trust me, the droids do not want to deal with Corellian rebellions that forcing the planet to choose one side would inevitably bring any more than Corellians want to have their loyalty picked by the machines instead of themselves."

The machine quipped to Sor-Jan, glancing to Faith,

"But speaking of the idea of beacons and ship relays, along with Corellian spirit, we could together bring back the exploration corps in full, designing Corellian ships with deep space probes that could be sent out and map uncharted space, there is always something more to explore in the Unknown Region."

[member="Ja’rrod Categaern"], [member="WD-334"],

The door would open once more then as Ja'rrod stepped in and HK received a transmission from WD that his ship just jumped into the system, the two being rather late to the meeting, although HK was glad it was not just a machine being late but someone from the FWC as well.

"Better late than never."

HK answered WD, although as he did he would glance towards Ja'rrod as if it was directed at the man. This gaze would not linger however before HK looked out, watching WD's ship through the viewscreen of his own vessel,

"The discussion you have missed is centered about whether Corellia should be acknowledged by the Metal Lords as a sovereign planet and allowed to pick which territory it wants to belong to, whether within Droid Space or the FWC, even if it means losing it in the process. What do you think about that, Lord Obsidian?"

The droid would ask WD over their comms, still looking out from that viewport to measure WD's ship in the planet's orbit.

Back to Faith,

At the queen's question HK would turn away from the viewport however, looking out from a different screenof the conference room they were in, aboard one of the Droid Ships as he scanned over Corellia while Faith looked over it as well.

"Looks pretty much mended to me, better than it would be for us to cut it in half again and put it back together with the right hemisphere. At this point what it needs is some lighter terraforming to stabilize the atmosphere and try to bring back some more normalcy to it. We definitely have the technology for the task, not to mention, Light-sided Force users."

HK agreed.

Flicking her eyes to the door when Jim came in, she lightly motioned to him with a small wave for him to join her. He got the message and leaned up against the wall next to her. Taking a swig of his flask, he offered her a drink after. Having been on a expedition with him, she knew just what he had in there. Accepting his offer, Ra took the flask and a swallow from it. Handing it back, she pushed the chair that was next to her with a foot and lifted an eye brow slightly before she broke her silence.

It was just a mere whisper, "don't draw too much attention to yourself, Jim."

Hopefully he took the offered seat as he as the only one still standing in the room.

WD-334 boarded a shuttle and headed over to the place of meeting. In short time WD made it, only to find that the meeting was nearing it's end. So it stood there, standing near a red haired woman it had forgotten the name of, just standing there attentively. It glanced down to the woman, then to other faces about, lingering on [member="HK-36"], as well as scanning the room. The droid caught HK's question, but it was not one for opinions. "This unit has no opinion. Sound strategy, but no opinion." And that was as much as the droid said, as diplomacy and such things were not it's forte.

@Ra'a'mah @Faith Organa

Jim did notice the fact that he was the only person standing, some of the droids and organics looked at Jim glaring at him most noticeably HK. With HK giving him what he could only figure be a nod of approval, Jim took up Ra’s offer to take a seat and not cause any more attention as had already. Jim sat quickly and quietly taking another sip of his flask. Nothing quite bores Jim like politics, so a little buzz should make things more interesting.

Using the technology from Starkiller planet?

The tow-headed Anzat just blinked. If he had to guess, that was some reference to a historical event he'd missed somewhere between the founding of the Galactic Empire and Netherworld. He'd have to look that one up.

"I appreciate that your Coalition is so willing to do so," the boy replied, but then added, "But you'd be better served to offer support of Corellians seeking ways to heal Corellia."

Turning back toward the droid, the boy opined, "I may have something in mind. Something that achieves both our goals."

Droid ships.

Long range survey vessels. They'd be remarkably small, lightweight, and could be very low-powered without the need for life support systems. They'd be maneuverable to optimize signal repeater efficiency, and could open new pathways for communication. Particularly if equipped with ghostwave technology.

Instead of creating a new HoloNet, they could merely tunnel through it.

It was then walk in late as they had been following behind Adelaide Teraan who after much discussion with his younger twin Andulf. Or more like the argument as best describe it before he'd departed. As to how she wished to shift the powers along with the title between the two them given the state of things. Which was somewhat resolve and he had a sinking suspicion might be a reason that Andulf absence but enough that. As it seems once they thought to slip in unnoticed that from the sideline a voice spoke. Was it directed at them or to both them as from the side another Metal Lord individual he happens met once before came in as well? That he then alongside Adelaide gave him a respectful nod and did their best listen as the proceeding went on. Pick up and take note of the point contention as well those of mutual coordinational agreement that both sides seem to agree on.
