SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Commenor Jedi Enclave
  • Classification: Temple/Academy
  • Location: Commenor
  • Affiliation: Jedi Academy Network, Commenor
  • Accessibility: Public.
  • Description: A grotto in the midst of Juniper Canyon on Commenor, with the temple being hewn in the stone face of the cliffs themselves. An infirmary lies off to one side, with open air areas for use in educational debate and training.

POINTS OF INTEREST
The Tomb of the Unknown Jedi. The heart of the enclave is the massive statue of a bearded figure, whose identity and story are lost to the annals of time. At the foot of the statue is a mausoleum, whose occupants are the Jedi Crusaders who fought in the Civil War against the Sith nearly 5,000 years ago. A memorial in front of the statue, erected in the center of the reflecting pond, is dedicated to the memory of the victims of war and strife.

The Infirmary. A modest medical facility, intended to care for the physical well-being of the enclave's residents. Staffed by Jedi Healers and their apprentices, this is a learning hospital supported by medical droids and volunteers.

The Jedi Council Chambers. A large, round auditorium that is both austere and spartan, decorated only with simple chairs arranged in two-quarters of a circle around the inside.

The Library. A quaint museum filled with holy texts, artwork, and relics that represent the Jedi of the past. Datacrons, holocrons, and star charts of the known systems are available for study here. No knowledge is forbidden, though some techniques are considered too advanced for a novice to attempt without adequate understanding of the Force.

The Monastery/Dormitories. The primary purpose of the enclave, a commune of religious devouts committed to one another and the community around them. To that end, the temple is home to a refectory and dormitories for its pilgrims. Younglings were housed in communal dormitories that were divided into clans (Hawkbat Clan, etc), while those recognized as Jedi Knights were provided with a small set of private quarters for their use. Guest quarters were available, including larger rooms for families taking refuge within the enclave.

SECURITY
Low. The Jedi Enclave is open to pilgrims, the disenfranchised, the sick, and the frail. Volunteers from among the Jedi Knights of the enclave take turns serving as Jedi Temple Guards at the entrances to the enclave and key locations within it. The Jedi Temple Guards are supplemented and augmented by a team of Non-Force Users known as Freedom Warriors. The Jedi work with the Commenori Knights and other nationalized law enforcement elements of the Commenor government for the protection of its occupants and the prosecution of major crimes that may be committed at the enclave. Because the enclave acts as a shelter, it is protected from orbital attack by a deflector shield.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Commenor Jedi Enclave has its origins in the Jedi Civil War that was fought on the planet between 3959 and 3956 BBY, though the Jedi had been on Commenor prior to that time. During the war with the Sith, it was necessary to create a fortification to house the Jedi Crusaders and to care for their wounded. After the war, the Jedi remained in Juniper Valley, primarily as a place of pilgrimage and an academy devoted to social justice education. Perhaps for that reason, over the thousand generations of the Old Republic, the enclave became more a place of training for the Jedi Service Corps than it did the Order proper. By the time of Order 66 and the Declaration of the New Order, the enclave had fallen into the care of Non-Force Sensitive adherents who remained loyal to the Jedi, known as the Freedom Warriors.

As Commenor became an Imperial fortress world under the Galactic Empire, the Jedi enclave was abandoned and its temples and libraries looted. It fell into ruin on the planet through the years of the New Republic, only to be re-discovered during the Gulag Plague, when the Jedi on the planet re-founded the enclave as a place where they could continue their religion in exile apart from the larger galactic community. When the Four Hundred Year Darkness had passed and Commenor began to re-connect with other worlds in the cosmos, the enclave's population dwindled, though the temple remained active -- primarily the infirmary in Juniper Canyon, a common draw for pilgrims seeking healing from the Light Side of the Force.

During the Sith occupation of Commenor, the enclave's populace swelled with refugees seeking asylum and escape from the destruction of Munto City and other parts of the planet. As Commenor rebuilds from the ashes of occupation, the Jedi enclave on Commenor has been infused with Force Sensitives and Non-Force Sensitives alike who seek knowledge and training in the ways of the Force.

I can't find the image on the page linked to. Help a girl out? :)

  • Accessibility: [Describe logistical information on how easy it is to find/access this location. Is it hidden? Is it isolated from society or is it in the middle of civilization? Is it guarded? Open to the public or private access only?]
  • Description: [Provide a short paragraph that describes this structure at a glance. More in-depth descriptions can be added in points of interest.]
There parts need to be filled in :)

The image was released by Square Enix as part of the lead-up to Stormblood. It's been pushed down pretty far, so I linked a clone of the image that's on Gamer Escape as well.

On those other sections, my apologies. I could have sworn I'd filled those in before posting it up.
