The Centurion: OP VS OS Skirmish potentially turning into invasion of Alderaan.

Well, looks like the OP folks are thinking of turning this skirmish into an invasion from the original plot to just be an extraction and not a planet takeover.

So if that is the case, this went from being a planned small skirmish with a few folk into an all hands on deck.

I had given originally a basic relay of our defenses, but if this is gonna go more for a planetary win than the storyline to extract cira, then it will get into the down and dirty of what our defenses are, who is on the ground and who is in space.

Since it is my responsibility to keep everyone informed especially when it deals with a thread that may go into an invasion, here is a new OOC and I'll be sending a mass message out just to give everyone a heads up.

I don't like this idea mostly because it makes no sense. I know they brought a lot of forces but that was supposed to be a meatshield so Sarge could go and get Cira... now it is lets take the planet. It is like Empress Teta where the mandalorians retreated but wanted to still have it be a win.

Also Alderaan has suffered enough

Defense wise, Val'rysses worm is still there, I have been rebuilding the palace in a thread with new defenses and given the people follow their queen they are on our side.

I don't remember reading much about the possibility in the Protectorate discussion area. 'Course, I'm not part of their Skype conversations (due to lacking a computer that has said program on it). Personally I'd prefer it to stay as a Skirmish. Just a 'little' fight between two power house factions. Lots of opportunity for interesting story pieces and emotional posts. Wouldn't make much sense either for the Protectorate to go from "we're just taking our friend back, don't mind us" to "nah bruh, we actually want the whole planet" either. That's just my opinion though.

All joking aside, I do think we need to consider doing a couple things, especially if this is turning into an invasion: 1) Setup a general roleplay discussion thread for this, helping to create some communication between the two entities and 2) Improve our presence on the thread, thus justifying the crazy defense on Alderaan that's currently being semi-bypassed (no hate on Protectorate folks, car doesn't move without someone at the wheel...unless you're on a hill >.>).

I'm not super happy about the concept of an invasion occurring right now, as it is universally accepted to be the slowest time of the year for writing (on every board I have ever written). But meh, we can't do much about that now, cogs are already turning and the train has left the station.

Though if does ic wise elaine thul my other character might try and liberate alderaan, as it made her stomach turn what happened to it. Though harley will fight them any were

Based on the invasion that was launched last year at this time... it was an invasion that very little people participated in and it killed things. From talking with Isolda she didn't seem to keen on an invasion and while it can happen at anytime... you still need to work out details between faction admins. This is the main reason why Balaya hasn't entered as her mentality of destroy everything to win goes against a skirmish mentality where they wanted to have fun and a slower paced operation.

I'm trying my best to make sure this stays a skirmish, as it was stated that the only objective of this skirmish was to try and get Cira back.

This will likely be a skirmish thread, but we aren't here to take whatever planet she's on or otherwise destroy everything in sight. Get in, snatch and grab, get out ASAP.

But I'll be handling things behind the scenes and then relaying that information back here.

Either way, I wanted to make sure the faction was aware as you all have the right to know and to defend your planet.

If this goes into an invasion, then we all have it in the back of our minds and react accordingly to defend it.
