SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Incredibly durable Force relic.
  • Mag-lock technology allows the wielder to attach and detach shield without the need for straps, as well as freeing up their off-hand.
  • Solari crystal binds the relic to the Light, rendering those corrupted by darkness unable to wield or even pick it up.
  • Absorbs energy attacks such as blasters and lightsabers.
STRENGTHS
  • Bulwark: Being made entirely from phrik, it offers supreme protection from ranged and melee attacks.

WEAKNESSES
  • Incorruptible: Cannot be wielded or even moved by those corrupted by darkness.
    • Oathbreakers Beware: Should its owner become corrupted, or otherwise prove unworthy, the inert shield will wait for a worthy soul.
  • Bound by the Force: Cannot be wielded effectively, even if found worthy, without Force-sensitivity.
    • Nullified: Can be temporarily severed from the Force using nullifying or suppressive technology or powers, reducing it to a mere slab of metal, albeit still a potent piece of protective wargear.
DESCRIPTION
This powerful relic was forged and imbued with the power of the Force by Thurion Heavenshield himself upon resettling his family on Midvinter, his ancestral homeworld. Commonly referred to simply as "the Heavenshield", the Celestial Aegis is perhaps the most famed of the Lion King's wargear, ever brought to bear against the forces of darkness no matter the origin. In homage to the mythical beasts soaring the skies above Heavenheim, the face of the shield depicts the profile of the mighty gryphon devouring a snake — a rather on-the-nose metaphor for good triumphing over evil.

More than merely an incredibly durable and protective piece of equipment forged from what locals refer to as "star metal", what truly sets the Aegis apart is its powerful connection to the Light Side of the Force, owed in large part to the rare Solari crystal slotted into the upper-right corner of the face of the shield. Utterly incorruptible, it ensures such a mighty relic cannot fall to the followers of Bogan or any other fell ilk, nor tarnish the legacy of its creator in the centuries to come; only the pure of heart and wholly uncorrupt may wield it, or even attempt to lift it. When properly wielded, the Aegis instils fear in servants of darkness and cause weak-willed foes to turn and run.

Traditionally paired with its counterpart Anarion, the Lion strides into battle like a knight of a bygone age of chivalry in stark contrast to modern technologies and advanced weaponry, proving time and again that the old ways are still more than a viable alternative. The back of the shield incorporates a magnetic lock, allowing it to lock onto the vambrace of its owner with the need for straps or even a handle, and can even be recalled from afar.
