Dominion The Bryn'adûl | The Twenty-Eight Billion of Lakonia

Objective: Extermination
Post 5

It was little trouble now that the vehicle had been primarily immobilized to mow down the forces surrounding it. The entire operation had taken only perhaps a minute and a half, but that lengthy timeframe was as a result primarily of the fact that the hybrid needed to reload his Pulverizer between shots. Were he given another dozen of the weapons and the trained warriors to use them, then he imagined that the whole ordeal could be done nearly instantaneously.

Of course - the vehicle was still an environmental hazard, but the inability to move meant that it was something which could be easily avoided. He contemplated igniting the rough area so that the crew still inside of the APC would gradually begin to cook inside of their now stationary metal coffin, but decided against it. They would come out when they came out, and the moment they left their precious field they would feel the wrath of the Draelvasier who sought their hides.

His work completed, Osam triggered his mind-stone, sending out a rough broadcast:
"The APC's weakness is known. The remaining defenders here flee in terror - our pursuit will be swift."

After their retreat back to the Debaucher, the Titan alongside his compatriots watched as the flagship was torn in half by the Brumak Charge. With the orbital platform firing on their own ships and the flagship destroyed, the sky was now theirs. On the ground below, their forces had taken control of the planet of Lakonia. Twenty-Eight billion dead within a month no less, a prized achievement for all.

Tathra returned to the Divine Brutality, watching from the observation deck as their fleet crushed the remnants of the Lakonian forces. All that remained now was to begin to rebuild the system in their image, in a better image. What once was Lakonia would be long forgotten once they were done with it.

"Well done, all of you. Another system claimed for our growing empire."

"How amusing."
Ostak spoke in accented Basic, fluent enough to be understood by the man he faced. He continued to rise even as his body failed him, bones bending and lungs failing. He rose up to face the Shaman-Overseer, staring directly at him. Yet it was not fear in his eyes, nor was it anger or hatred. Instead, simple acceptance lay in his gaze and posture alike. The man was smart enough to know that he would soon be dead, that he was never a match for the Shaman-Overseer even if his vampirism could not be effectively used. His entire offensive was merely meant to stall the inevitable fate of the fortress ahead, rather than eliminate its executioner. Such foresight explained his continued resilience: perhaps he did not fear death as much as he did come to expect it in his time as a soldier. Perhaps his squadmates had met gruesome deaths in past battles, numbing him to the feeling of despair. Regardless, the man's persistence was oddly familiar to the Draelvasier tenet of strength. Perhaps it would be bette-

Ostak voluntarily cut off his increasingly heretical flow of thought, bringing his focus back to his foe.

"You have done well, and will die a much better death than the others."
A needle-thin arc of purple energy launched outward from Ostak's arms, cleanly decapitating the man.

Within the next hour, Ostak would encounter little remaining opposition, and came to a halt exactly half a kilometer outside the fortress wall. There, he projected an enormous lance that tore a great hole in the structure, allowing the rapidly approaching Drones and Juggernauts to pour inside. It was a swift victory, one that may have even been forgettable if not for the actions of the man. He had now been transported back to the Divine Brutality, his Shamen resting and himself by his Chieftain's side.

"Well done, all of you. Another system claimed for our growing empire."

"It is an honor to advance our Crusade by your side." replied Ostak, dropping down on his knee in a final show of respect.

As quickly as Galak's fight with the Jedi was over, the battle for the planet was completed. The Bryn'adûl had defeated their enemies above and below, Gunboats beginning to deliver segments of the super constructs as the Silver Jedi's remnant forces were entirely wiped out. Slowly, the remaining thousands of the populace would be herded and executed.

Nothing stood in the way of the Bryn'adûl, the Silver Jedi had lost their grasp on these worlds and thusly they had forfeited the lives of every man, woman and child that remained on the planets.

Galak stood on the edge of the stone maze he had been fighting in, the warriors of the tenth regiment at his side as they watched Lakonia burn. Twenty-eight billion lives, gone in nearly an instant.

Lakonia was theirs.

The Station's bridge grew quiet as the battle ended. There were no great cheers of joy as he expected, instead the warriors gathered at the edge of the observation port. The very same Bryn who had only moments ago lathered themselves in the blood of their enemies now stood in peaceful silence.

They watched the battle unfold in the great beyond of space. The sheer scale of it, the colours, the explosions. It all dazzled him, eyes leaping across the visual feast as the Station's own armaments started firing on the enemy ships.

The lakonian own flagship torn in half as the Chieftain's Debaucher departed and headed back toward the Divine Brutality as its main battery tore through a sequence of enemy capital ships. No doubt, they had achieved victory in the sky. The planets below, even from a distance one could see the fires.

Another system for the Bryn'adûl.
