OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

NETHERWORLD INFORMATION
  • Gate: The General area around the Dathomir's Warlock's Gate while affected by Sith Scientists causes the Bone Temple to exist in more than one place at the same time. This time always coincides with the Nightsisters' Witching Hour, the term given to a particular time of worship, a purposeful span of time used for conjuring during the night, not intended to refer to an absolute length of time.
  • Lucidity: The region inclusive of the Bone Temple's location undergoes an extreme ethereal transformation during the Witching Hour while the Warlock's Gate is activated. A 10 mile radius around the Gate becomes transformed into the Nether Realm. Anything deceased and buried within this radius is risen from the dead, including the sarcophagi of the Matriarchal Nightsister Ancestors who make up the Wanica Coven. The Temple itself converts from a horrific visual stack of bones to become a mass of undead conjoined bodies. During this Witching Hour, Nightsister Magick is concurrently cast by covens across the land adding to the magnitude of effects of this phenomenon. Anything outside the radius of the Gate is left entirely unaffected. When one should walk straight into the altered area, they pass over a threshold into the Nether, a translucent barrier, and become unseen by those outside its reach.
  • Hostility: The Temple is surrounded by an ancient magickally charmed carnivorous vine, deeply rooted directly beneath the foundation. The vine stretches across the land unseen to unfamiliar eyes, blending in with other plants, seeking body parts of unsuspecting intruders cast aside by predators after devoured. The vine is capable of ensnaring and killing its victims provided the circumstances are ripe, for example the victim possesses slow reflexes, is unconscious, completely oblivious to their surroundings, or panics resulting in stumbling into a thick patch of vines. The vine ingests all remaining flesh off a victim's bones, and lugs only the bare bones of the dead back to the Temple to stack them there. The vine itself takes down and rebuilds the structure on its own whim.
If Dathomir itself isn't enough to ward off trespassers, while the Warlock's Gate is active, all the lost souls of the dead within its 10 mile radius may return to their corpses, existing within the boundary of the Nether upon Dathomir once again. The reach of this effect slowly increases as the Sith Scientists achieve greatness in their study and affects upon the phenomenon. Outsiders are typically quite repulsed and psychologically shaken by such a sudden, unsuspected, hideous development in their surroundings. Outsiders are not received well by those cast here among the Nether, nor the land while it is reverted into the physical realm. Individual Nightsisters alone are a formidable force. As a coven they are quite accomplished. Their undead rising within the Nether are far beyond cranky. All are most determined to utilize their time well without tolerating outside disturbances.

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: the Bone Temple
  • Classification: Crude Temple.
  • Location: Malsheem world craft of Kainate, & Dathomir
  • Affiliation: the Wanica Coven
  • Accessibility: The Temple's location is on the outskirts of the covens, and is not well known but to the locals of the immediate area. The carnivorous vine keeps it generally secluded with thick overgrowth. In its place within the physical realm for all hours when the Warlock's Gate is deactivated, exists a precision dome shape cut in the ground, as the Temple originally formed upon Dathomir has been removed and now exists on Malsheem, taken up inside a biodome. This biome is strictly off-limits to any but Nightsisters who worship Carnifex. Dathomir's Witching Hour is the only time that the Temple shall be found to exist within the Nether. It exists 100% of the time on Malsheem. When the Witching Hour has passed, access to the Nether vanishes, leaving those who physically reside on Malsheem finding themselves out of the Nether and on Malsheem inside a lifeless Temple of bones, and those who came into the Temple by way of the Nether to Dathomir, are left once again in the physical realm upon Dathomir soil, inside a great big hole in the ground.
  • Description: The Temple's shape is always changing. It is not incredibly large. The vines have slowly grown long over the last few hundred years, and have limited reach around the land to collect skeletons. It stands no higher today than four and one-third meters, and thirteen meters square.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Upon entering, there is a dark narrow hall with openings to multiple shrines for various Darkside meditation. The hall leads back to the main altar chamber intended for worship of their most powerful god known. The exact location of the altar chamber never changes, just the walls fashioned around it. Only a god more powerful than its current, can break down the altar itself.

The original altar erected to the Fanged God was stone, until Lord Carnifex destroyed it and magick compounded a new altar in honor of the Sith'ari, fashioned solely of departed jedi skulls; not sorry!

SECURITY
Maximum

The Bone Temple itself is fortified by no technological defenses. No ethereal connection regarding the Bone Temple between Dathomir and Malsheem exists outside of the Witching Hour phenomenon. During the Witching Hour however, a connection is created and anything buried in the ground of the biome becomes undead. Undead anything always hunts living beings. Dathomir's native inhabitants are well known as a force with which to be reckoned. For example: some of the most brutal Wild Animals of Dathomir Include:
If walking into the lair of Dark Sith Lords and Nightsisters are not deterrent enough, then the Maximum Security features instilled within Malsheem ought to disway anyone from entering where they are not invited.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Bone Temple has been created over the ages by the magick of Dathomir herself. Enchanted cannibalistic vines collected the dead who trespassed within the lair of the Nightsisters. The vines stacked the corpses and created this Temple for the coven's worship of the Fanged God.

Pom Stych Tivé had been present with her coven at this Temple when she personally became the first to witness the ethereal transformation. Standing within the effects of the Nether she saw everyone congregated on the Temple grounds, from outside the Nether's reach after passing through the barrier, she turned back around and saw no one there at all where she knew they were.

The twelve corpses which comprise the Wanica Coven Matriarchs rest in elevated burial plots on this sacred lot of land where this marvel occurs. During the witching hour and the raising of the Nether by the Warlock's Gate, her Late Ancestors had risen from their resting place. They met Pom in the altar chamber and offered her powers in exchange for possession of her. These very ancestors who have been welcome to possess Pom, have kept their promise to Pom, elevating her to Matriarch by sharing knowledge and personal grimoires. Mostly they are at rest, but stir to manifest out of her physical body during times of duress or to assist with tedious magickal tasks.

For the longest time the Mistress Malcontent had worshipped the Fanged God, but discovered his reach confined to the star system of Dathomir. Even with accomplishing her own ability to reach out to him through the Netherworld, this god's personal limitations only exhausted and exasperated the Nightsister. She first got inspired to delve in the investigation of a greater being yet, after meeting Lord Carnifex and seeing him possess an ability to reach across the galaxy that her own god did not possess, or he refused to explore. From there her journey only became more complex than that of a Nightsister.

This realization regarding the lacking of her ancestral god led her to conclude the likely aspect of a supreme being from whom all creation and all laws of physics had been orchestrated into existence. But as of yet, this being has never stepped forward to introduce itself to her or any among her people, not even to her Late Matriarchal Ancestors. No such being has yet provided it's power to be incanted into Magick. The vast, intricate miracle of the Bone Temple which in itself is simple, exists because the Darkside of the Force, the mysteries pouring forth from the Netherworld, and ages of Nightsister Magick all compounded upon the Temple to cause it to exists in the remarkable state which it does today.

In the altar chamber a confrontation arose when the jealous Fanged God physically challenged Lord Carnifex, after Pom's Nightsister Coven officially recognized Emeritus Carnifex as the Sith'ari and worshiped him inside their Temple. Naturally Lord Carnifex chose to take physical possession of the Temple as a means of intentional insult to this outdated god. He had the Bone Temple immediately and meticulously sliced out of the ground with the precision of a laser and encased within a biome of the worldcraft home of the Kainate, that the Wanica may continue to worship Carnifex. He took far more than the physical Temple away from the god of old, a handful of his worshippers as well, all converted to devotion of him of their free will. The old god personally proven too distant from his devoted to truly care for any living beings nor their welfare. In Carnifex, the Wanica found hope to further their notorious success in Magick.

As the Witching Hour begins upon Dathomir, all that exists during the hours not amidst the most active witching hour is a vast gaping hole in the ground. Yet during the witching hour the night erupts with fantastical manifestation, here and upon all the land immediately surrounding the Sith Scientists' experimentation upon the area within this Spell generates an invisible barrier which signifies the farthest reach of the Gate's ethereal alterations. This barrier represents the edge of the Nether. The changes of the land within reach are only witnessed when one has passed through this barrier into the Nether Realm as had Pom when she first discovered it.

Once within, during the hours of ethereal transformation, the Bone Temple would not be seen as snatched from its rightful place, but be seen as if it never had been transported onto Malsheem at all. Because the Temple had for many years been under the spell of these phenomenal effects, an amazing link exist today between Dathomir, the Gate, and the Bone Temple. Only during the witching hour while the Sith commit to perform their experiments does the Warlock's Gate open and this Temple fashioned out of a mass of conjoined corpses, become literally alive. It exists simultaneously on Malsheem, within the Nether, and therefor upon Dathomir alike during this time of great power generation.

Over eons of lifespans have the Nightsister Covens cast magick upon their corner of this world. Such Dark energy has never been released from this place. The effects on the Bone Temple, are a result of this vibrant and volatile history and the amazing capability unlocked by the Warlock's Gate miles away, combined. The radius of the Gate's reach expanding slowly over time.

The heartbeat of the Bone Temple pounds audibly throughout the immediate area, calling to the deceased Matriarch's resting within their platform burial plots. They revive and climb down, determined to worship He who has granted them yet another moment of life upon this, their cherished planet, this portion existing within the Netherworld at this time.

The carnivorous vines left black and decaying after their roots were cut to be included within the biodome, are now green and actively seeking non-believing intruders soon to determine their mission regretful after stepping foot upon this sacred soil. The Bone Temple is fashioned out of the likes of such ignorant and arrogant men, especially including jedi!
