Eternal Father
They detected her even before she exited hyperspace.
Cresting the eclipse of a dying star was a vast array of starships, sharp and angular. The largest among them were like stiletto daggers, elongated shapes that tapered off to a razor-sharp point. Their superstructures bristled with turbolasers, ions cannons, and banks upon banks of missile silos. None of them paid the small ship any mind, it were the agile cutters and nimble starfighters that flanked the craft as it approached; they were far more dangerous to the small vessel than any other. The rumble of their ion engines, each burning bright purple in the blackness of endless space, could be felt as they flew side-by-side.
But it was what lay ahead that was truly marvelous. A giant space station, larger than any in recent memory, loomed large against a field of broken worlds and twirling comets. From a distance it appeared a smooth orb, but that was an illusion. The surface of the station was studded with geometric rises and valleys, cannon emplacements and launch bays. At the center was a massive opening, a gulf that sunk deep into the station. Within was contained thousands upon thousands of assembly bays and drydocks, mechanical arms endlessly assembling a vast armada that was beyond reckoning. Vessels larger than the ones that she had passed lurked within the darkness of that abyss, true leviathans.
But it was a smaller outcropping that she was directed to, a squat structure that jutted out several hundreds of meters from the station's surface. Her escorts peeled off as a tractor beam grabbed her ship and guided it to a landing, a cadre of soldiers shrouded in gleaming red awaiting her arrival. At their head was a monster of shimmering silver, a beast three meters tall crowned with a pair of scintillating horns that gleamed impossibly bright. His eyes were studded opals, burning like the fires of a blazing forge. A tail ending in a sharp spear-like blade swished impatiently behind him.
When the one known as Jackal the Sangnir exited her ship, the hulking beast approached on long digitigrade limbs ending in clawed digits. When he spoke to her, it was with a melodic voice like the twinkling of gemstones and the crackling of firewood. "The Lord-Master expects you. In His infinite wisdom, He has sent me to escort you to His audience chamber." The beast, whom she would eventually come to know was called Darth Shara, turned and began to walk towards a far door leading to a large lift. The lift would take them down into the station, dozens levels passing them by every second as the lift descended. The inside of the station was not dissimilar from many similar installations fancied by Imperials and Sith, with gray metallic walls and white phosphorescent panels illuminating each corridor.
They journeyed in silence, neither Shara nor the soldiers offering anything resembling pleasant conversation. After the lift came to a stop, they all moved into another corridor identical to the one before. Shara seemed to intrinsically navigate the endless maze of corridors, constantly moving forward as his tail swished behind him. He'd only come to a stop when they reached an ominous looking set of doors, the threshold made of black metal in contrast to the gray walls and floor of the hallway. Shara turned towards Jackal and gestured to the door, which slid open as he did so.
"The Master awaits."
Inside, the chamber was dark as though shrouded in a dense fog. A single light shone down from the center, illuminating part of a mosaic built into the floor itself. The section it revealed greatly resembled a known symbol of the Sith Order at the center of a lidless eye. The rest was hidden by the unnatural shadows that clung to the margins of the room. The door shut behind her as she entered, leaving her seemingly alone in the gloom of the chamber. It was only when a voice spoke to her from the darkness that the shadows seemed to recede, revealing the presence of the very man she was coming to see.
Darth Carnifex, Dark Lord of the Sith, stood at the other side of the room draped in the majesty of the Dark Side.
"Welcome, Jackal the Sangnir, I've been anticipating your arrival."
