Terrors of Tatooine: Between Sand and Sky

It was this quick thinking that probably saved his life, as the beast suddenly emerged from the ground not a few feet from where he was and got confused by the thick smoke before burrowing underground again as Verz made it back to the relative safety of the ship.

"What the hell was that thing?" Tee asked as he looked wild eyed, clutching his rifle like a life line.

The droid replied it seems to be some sort of sand skimmer, a medium sized vessel used to transport goods between the cities. It has shields and what seems to be a some sort of defensive weapon mounted, class unknown. Intent unknown.

The droid replies that they acknowledged your hails and that the Devaronian in charge said that soon all things would taken care of.

Tee catches the last part and says with worry in his voice, "By the Sarrlac's hairy ballsack, if that is who I think it is, then we're screwed. They're not going to let us get out of here alive."

"Ranon Djelkh, the big boss."

From somewhere at the far end of the canyon, the whine of a repulsorlift slowly grows louder. Finally, the broad shape of a cargo skiff could be seen approaching, sporting a covered area on the stern and an E-Web blaster on the bow.

The skiff moves in a straight line towards the wreckage of ship and pulls to a stop about 30 meters away. Eight scruffy-looking toughs regard your predicament with great amusement, lazily pointing the deck gun to cover their approach. From the shaded rear deck, a nattily dressed Devaronian steps forward.

"Imagine my surprise," The figure called out across the sands. "I had assumed that you wanted the tirginni cologne because it was valuable. Now I catch you trying to hijack the Star Stalker! But it looks like you made an error in judgement. I guess the mole serpent was even too much for your to handle eh?"

"Well, had I better weapons, I would have killed it and taken it's hide as a trophy. And the colonge, you can blame your friend here. He put it on my ship, then your associates attacked me and my hip, and I to this ship, seeking water, as my own supply was low. I am sorry for any inconveniences my predicament may have caused."

"So you're tell me, the Great Ranon Djelkh, and yes I am that Ranon Djelkh, that this was all a misunderstanding?" Pauses as if he considers something. "Alright say what you're saying is true. Here's what I will do." Pulling out a large bulky pistol like weapon he places it on the deck of his craft. "I have a dart gun loaded with the only poison strong enough to kill the mole serpent. You want it? Its yours, all you have to do is walk out here and get it. I promise I won't even try to stop you."

Laughing in amusement, he replied, "No catch. All you have to do is walk out here and take it. Oh and not get caught by the mole serpent, of course." Then he and his men began laughing.

"Well, I think I can handle that."
Verz tossed another smoke grenade out of the hatch, then when the smoke was thick enough, he ran out and activated his jetpack, flying up to the barge, landing in front of Rannon and his men.

Ranon laughs and kicks the dart pistol over the side of the skiff, toward Verz on the sand below where the creature was lurking. "There," he laughs, "Now all you need to do is get it to poke his head out." He gestures, and the skiff pilot revs the repulsorlifts engine. Sand billows as the ground begins to shake.

Verz grabbed the venom and looked over the dart gun quickly, seeing how it worked and finding the sights. He then jumped down and landed about 5 meters from the cave. He shouted "Hey, chaakar! Your buir was a sand scurrier and the other was a rat!"
