Terrors of Tatooine: Between Sand and Sky

Something wasn't right about the gun he got off the sand. (Pick a number from 1 to 10, if you want to figure out what it is or just use it regardless).

As an experience weapons master Verz knows that the weight of the weapon is all wrong, but before he could inspect it further the deck cannon opens up, spraying the sand around him in a shower of dirt and laser fire. Tee tries to distract them by shooting at the gunner but the skiff's shields twart any return fire.

(Unless Verz heads back under cover this turn, give me two random numbers [henceforth from 1 to 10 unless I indicate otherwise], the first is dodge incoming fire and the second against the beast in the sand. If does go to cover I just need one number instead)

Zooming back to the cover, Verz is narrowly hit by the creature that is drawn by the churned sand thrown by the wild shots. Barely making it, they are forced to duck behind cover as the deck gun peppers the entrance with blaster fire.

 

[Verz Horak]

"Hey, chaakar! What is the matter with you?"

 

[Archon Xris]

A fresh volley of laser fire is the reply of the criminal lord and his gang of henchmen.

(Now that you are under cover, Verz may inspect the weapon safely by picking a number.)

Checking the weapon Verz see that it isn't a gun but rather a cleverly disguised holoplayer, that starts when the trigger is pulled.

 

[Verz Horak]

Verz, cursing the owner of the barge he pulled the trigger.

 

[Archon Xris]

As he pulls the trigger there is a high pitched whining sound and then the upper portion of the gun splits in half and an holoprojection of a Rodian appears and begins to speak, "Surprised, Ranon?"

"I got a tip you were going to double cross me and not pay me for the mole serpent. So I found another buyer. Everyone knows that Lorka the Hutt pays good credits for exotic pets. So while you're there pulling the trigger of a fake dart gun, I'm dropping this beast over at Lorka's palace and collecting my reward. Maybe we can look back at this day and laugh about it. Sorry old buddy, but business is business and Lorka's better at it than you."

After the message plays the holographic image fizzles out leaving them in the same predicament as they were before.

 

[Verz Horak]

"Hey, chaakar! What's your problem with me?"

 

[Archon Xris]

(Who are you asking?)

 

[Verz Horak]

(Crime lord number one.)

 

[Archon Xris]

"My problem with you is that you spoiled my plans. Now I know that isn't fair and probably undeserved, but I don't care. We're not leaving here until I skin you both and make you into a pair of boots."

Then they resumed firing at the ship and your cover.

(At present rate, the entrance would be destroyed and widened in two more posts)

 

[Verz Horak]

"Fierfek! Don't you know who am? I'm a Mandolorian Rally Master! I'm not afraid to send huttune like you to your ancestors!"
Verz jumped out and started firing his blaster rifle at the crime lord's crew.

Verz and Tee's shots were largely ineffective because of the skiff's shields. They would need heavier firepower if they were to survive this encounter.

 

[Verz Horak]

Verz saw the skiff's shields protect it from damage. He thought for a moment, then jumped up and activated his jetpack, rocketing upwards until he was level with the skiff deck.

 

[Archon Xris]

(The deck gun is a heavy blaster carbine and they are shooting assorted firearms in your direction. To reach accomplish the action you would need to give me 8 numbers, only this time numbers may repeat. Note there is a possibility your armor would be damaged and you would fall to the ground, an easy victim for the creature. Do you still want to proceed?)
