Terrors of Tatooine: Between Sand and Sky

Verz was pounded by incoming fire, although most missed, he was struck three times as he closed the gap to the enemy ship. His foot was numb where he got hit, and his HUD was acting up as the system scrambled to adjust when he got hit by the carbine rounds. As he drew even to the skiff, the criminals scrambled to meet him with blades and weapons bared.

 

[Verz Horak]

Verz dropped onto the deck, firing a barrages of laserfire at the criminals. He felst some return fire ping off of his Mandolorian Iron armor, and laughed at his foes, to try and frighten them.

Blasting away, Verz shoots a thug in the guts and another in the head, sending him spinning off the side of the skiff and onto the sand below. Seconds later he screams as the creature rises up from the sand and swallows him in one gulp.

Suddenly Verz is slammed by forces which makes him feel as if his guts want to hit the floor of skiff. The thug lord has a weapon he recognizes as a Tensor Rifle. The tractor beam like effect grounded the Mandalorian and slowed him down, as the rest of the thugs converged with weapons drawn.

 

[Verz Horak]

Verz tried fighting the Tensor, fighting inch by inch towards his foes. He unclipped a grenade and let it drop and roll. The timer counted down. Verz smiled under his helmet.

Verz struggled to break the hold but instead he was driven to his knees as an unbearable pain seemed to tear at his muscles and flesh. The goons were laughing as the pummeled him with kicks and blows but which fortunately the armor protected him from feeling.

Verz struggled against the beam, and yelled out insults and curses in Mando'a.

It took an almost impossible act of will but Verz was able to fumble the grenade and dropped the live ordinance on the flight deck.

The grenade blew sending men and parts of the skiff flying off the deck and unto the sands below. Verz was among those who were blown off, landing hard against the hull of the ship and causing a crack in his backpack that would require some repairs. Thee and the droid grab you and make a run for it while the creature is distracted.

Meanwhile the skiff lists away, trailing black smoke until it disappears from sight.

 

[Verz Horak]

Verz groaned in moderate pain from the Tensor, and he opened his eyes to see himself being carried by his companions.
"Urghh. I thought I was going to join the manda. Thanks."

 

[Archon Xris]

"Hell, he wanted to kill me as well. I figured I stand a better chance with you." The thug said as they paused against a rock outcropping and he sent several potshots to cover their exit.

 

[Verz Horak]

"Well, how doyou propose we get outta here?"

 

[Archon Xris]

"We get the droid to go back for a barrel or two while we cover it. Between the two of us, and the thing out there we should keep those guys pinned." Firing his rifle again, he hits another gunner in the shoulder.

 

[Verz Horak]

Verz saw one of the thugs fall from Tee's shot and chuckled. He raised his own rifle, ignoring the bolts of pain, and fired a burst at the thugs taking cover behind a rock.

"Droid, head back to the wreck and bringa barrel of water"

 

[Archon Xris]
