PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Partially Automated: Terbeasts contain a droid brain used to process sensor and targeting information, communicate with other Lucerne Labs military vehicles, and provide diagnostic information to the vehicle's crew.
  • Turbo-booster: The Terbeast comes equipped with a basic turbo-booster package installed, allowing the craft to briefly accelerate faster than normal at the cost of maneuverability and power. This speed is exceptional for a vehicle its size, with only airspeeders, podracers, and similar high performance repulsorcraft being capable of outrunning this vehicle.
  • ANq-51 Sensor Array computer with Omniprobe: A command vehicle, one of the chief concerns of the Terbeast is to provide the command team riding onboard with excellent, up to date information about its surroundings. To that end, the Terbeast hosts a powerful ANq-51 with its sensor dish at the rear of the vehicle and combines it with an Omniprobe, allowing the Terbeast to effectively show a wide variety of information about the ground and airspace around it, particularly in providing overall tactical information, particularly about structures, vehicles, and other electronic-based structures.
  • Frequency Agile subspace transceiver with Signal scrambler: Communicating with troops in the field is a necessity for a command vehicle. To that end, the Terbeast has an exceptionally powerful subspace transceiver for its size, which not only allows it to communicate across most continents on most worlds, but coupled with a signal scrambler, makes it difficult to geolocate.
  • L2/4 Praecursator Tactical Probe Droid Docking Sockets: The Terbeast comes with a quartet of tactical probe droids which can be deployed as reconaissance elements to augment the vehicle's sensors, especially for nearby tactical missions, or to help provide some close quarters security near the vehicle.
  • Environmentally Sealed: Terbeast have environmental sealing and full internal life-support for three days of continual operation, allowing the tanks to be deployed in hazardous environments such as vacuum or toxic atmospheres and to enable limited submersion in water.
STRENGTHS
  • Sensor Platform: The Terbeast has exceptionally powerful and diversified sensors, providing its occupants with more information than can normally be acquired by a vehicle of its size.
  • Command and control: The Terbeast is designed to be a commander's vehicle, providing not only large amounts of sensor data, but also providing excellent communication systems to provide commanders with a means of effectively coordinating and directing their subordinates in battle.
  • Fast: The Terbeast has been built for high speed, allowing it to keep pace with some of the fastest vehicles on the battlefield, whether its quickly keeping pace with advancing friendly repulsorcraft, or quickly fleeing a surprise enemy attack.
WEAKNESSES
  • No Cargo Capacity: Designed for high speed, the designers trimmed as much weight from the Terbeast as they could, including any meaningful cargo space.
  • Weak Firepower: The Terbeast is very lightly armed, sporting a turreted laser cannon which is designed to provide some point-defense ability against aircraft, munitions, and infantry that might slip through the front lines to attack it.
DESCRIPTION
The ungainly looking Terbeast is a small, highly mobile command vehicle in the vein of the aging LAVr AH-7 Chariot. Typically used by company and battalion commanders, Terbeasts act as mobile headquarters for many field grade commanders, providing powerful sensors to help inform battlefield decisions while also providing powerful enough communication system to punch through many low grade comms jammers and reach out to coordinate the movements of dozens of units. In this latter task, the Terbeast usually carries a number of command staff or communications techs to help coordinate these actions. The vehicle has room for a few actual passengers, which are typically unit command staff or liaison officers. Terbeasts, being lightly armed and carrying important passengers, typically do not go close to the front lines. In order to keep command staff present, they typically either use their speed and shielding to safely withdraw from attacks, or are accompanied by more powerful and numerous escorts to fight off foes.
