Tempest Squadron was created by Karl Von Strauss himself following the creating of the awesome Duchess-Class HSD. He wanted the best squadron of fighter pilots and fighters to be available to him. So he chose pilots, veterans, that were under him during the second battle of Skor II in order to be in this squadron. He used some of his influence, not that he had much in the first place to get a squadron of eight TIE/D Defenders for this squadron. He also had them customized, he accented them with a bright orange. Their insignia is the First Order insignia with the same orange instead of red. Their flight suits are also accented with the same orange upon the helmet and suit.

+Light bomber: Ion cannons and the warhead launcher allow Tempest Squadron to act as a bomber group. - +Interceptor: The speed and maneuverability allow this fighter to be able to take out fighter-sized targets with ease.
- +Shielding: It has shields, allowing it to take a punch while dealing its own.
- +Hyperdrive: It does have a hyperdrive, which allows it to not have to be dependent on a carrier ship.

- -Vulnerable Without Shield: Without the shields, the TIE/D is about as flimsy as the TIE/LN
- -Power Hungry: Constant firing of the weapons drains the energy of the ship faster than the solar collectors can collect it, this means that it will steal power from where ever it can get it. Meaning no prolonged fights or battles without retreating.
