Mahporeenian Storm Commandos are known to use a number of different patterns of their iconic armor, with the most recent variant being the Tempest-class. Tempest-class Storm Commando armor is, like all other examples of the armor, both incredibly lightweight and durable, thanks to its combination of composite laminate materials, armorweave and plastoid. Tempest-class Storm Commando armor also comes fully equipped with numerous armorweave storage pouches, a built in sound dampening system and a helmet mounted breath mask, comlink and integrated heads up display (HUD).
Unlike other examples of Storm Commando armor, however, the Tempest-class armor is not coated in Reflec, limiting the armor's overall stealth capabilities. Tempest-class Storm Commando armor also has rather poor body coverage, much like Scout Trooper armor is less protective than standard Scout Trooper armor.
That being said, the Tempest-class Storm Commando armor is still an impressive piece of Imperial kit, one that trades pure stealth for increased endurance and adaptability. Such armor is only ever worn by Mahporeenian Storm Commandos, and mere possession of the armor set can result in execution if held or worn by an unlicensed person or alien.
