Major Locations: Tir’Valo- The grasslands that dominate over half of the land of the planet located in the center of Tel’erra. Rolling hills, patches of trees, small streams, and ponds dot the sea of grass. This region is the most densely populated and were most of the grain farming takes place. The people of this region are known for their skill as traders as well as for their skill at hunting the wild herds of bantha and nerf that roam freely. The region’s top predatory species being the packs of Vult that hunt the wild herds. Wyrra sightings do occur, but with the lack of rocky outcroppings, they remain infrequent.

Tir’Telle- The rocky hills north of Tir’Valo that make up the second largest region on the planet. This is the area where most of the forests are located. The region is rich in metal and mineral deposits as well as lumber. Rivers and springs are common amongst the trees. The people of this region do some grain farming but mostly herd nerf to provide them with food and leather. The people who live here are known for their skill at crafting any type of item due to the abundance of most if not all forms of natural resources. Vult and Wyrra both compete with each other for the wild as well as domesticated nerf in this region.

Tir’Roia- The rocky desert region south of Tir’Valo. Few plants grow in this area and those that do tend to have thorns or toxins. The region contains metal and mineral deposites, but has a shortage of water sources. The region is known for having red dirt and sand. The least populated of the regions, grain farming is impossible away from the single river that flows south to north through the region. The food of the area is mostly obtained from the wild bantha and domesticated ones that live there. Vult are uncommon in this region, but Wyrra are a common sight as they prey upon the wild bantha.

Culture: The people of Tel’erra are an honorable, productive people. They hold craftsmen and hunters in high regards because of the early need for those able to provide food and create usable items after the crashing of the ancient colony ships. These values continued to remain relevant from then until now. The daily life of the people consists of readying one self for the task of the day no matter what it is. Family and clan are the most important things in the life of the people, and those who turn their backs or betray their family or clan are seen as the gravest of sinners. Every person lives for the benefit of their family and clan because their survival was and at times still remains dependent on it. The people of Tel'erra are a highly social people and become incredibly anxious and paranoid when not near another being. This odd trait is able to be pacified as well by the presence of pets or animal companions such as tamed Vult.

They have a simple system of government revolving around a code of honor and the laws of the living. The code of honor details how the people should conduct themselves and can act as exceptions to certain laws. The laws of the living details what rights every person has as well as what acts are outlawed. Each clan follows these and then adds on clan rules on top of them that are created by the clan council that is lead by an elected clanhead. The rules of the clan can be added to or taken away from by the council, but the code of honor and laws of the living can not.

The people of Tel’erra have a system of religion that is polytheistic. A god/goddess is assigned to a core part of life, such as hunting or crafting, and acts as a patron for those who make a living by it. The gods and goddesses are all said to be connected through the Great Weave, which is just another name for the force. They revere nature and say everything in nature contains a spirit in much the same way that all deities are connected due to the Great Weave.

The art of the people of Tel’erra focuses on the natural and spiritual. Art is written form is centered around poetry. Novels are uncommon, but do exist. Paintings do exist, but most forms of art are done in the form of statues made from either stone, wood, or metal.

Technology: The people of Tel’erra have lost much of the technology they had when they crash landed on the planet. They were set back to a more primal state of technology and have since rediscovered how to work metal, stone, and wood. They have begun to create firearms once again that are ballistic in nature. The technology is an early form of slugthrowers, with ammo having just gotten advanced enough for closed case ammunition. Blacksmiths, weavers, leather-workers, etc are all still necessary for the creation of goods due to a lack of industrial technology. There is a lack of electricity as well.

History: Pre-Colonization- Very little is known about how the Vorran system’s unique nature came to be. It is believed that the system contained several other planets aside from Tel’erra at one time, but then due to some unknown cosmic event all of the planets aside from Tel’erra were destroyed. It is believed the inner asteroid belt around Vorra was formed from the destruction of a terrestrial planet, and the outer gas debris disk was formed from the destruction of several large gas giants. Over time the debris of the planets formed disks around the sun due to the influence of the sun’s gravitational force.

Colonization- Tel’erra remained hidden due to the unique nature of the its system for a long period of time. Eventually colony ships traveling to a different system had to make an emergency stop in the system near the planet and crashed onto the planet’s surface. The cause of this was due to the unique nature of the systems outer debris disks having unusual effects on electronics of ships that get too close to it. The effects including the lose of scanners, communications system going on the fritz, and guidance systems shutting down making it nearly impossible to pilot ships. No records survived as to the original destination of the colony ships or why humans and togruta colonists were traveling together, but they were left stranded upon the planet with their nerf and bantha herds. Despite attempts to be rescued, no distress signals could escape the planet and no repairs were able to be made to the ships. They were sent back to a dark age of technology due to a lack of industrial facilities. Eventually the colonists had to face the reality that they were now stuck on the planet and they began to explore the planet. Settlements were formed across the planet as the colonists dealt with the lose of their technology.

Hybridization- The human and togruta populations eventually interbred to the point that none of the original races remained. The Tel’varn were born from the extended mixing of the two races bloods and emerged as a new species. The reliance on hunters and craftsman during this time for the very survival of the race developed an admiration and general respect for those good at these activities that would ultimately remain throughout their history. The hybridization of the two races lead to early issues for the Tel'varn people. There was not enough of a population early on that lead to a small initial genetic pool. This lead to disease becoming a major issue and other genetic health problems running rampant. This lead to the trait that would be a major factor in both the species to come later as well as influenced the course of their history to follow. This trait was their highly social nature of becoming dependent on being in a group for their early survival dealing with their early health problems until their genetic pool was large enough to support immunity to disease and genetic health issues.

Tribal Era- The newly born Tel’varn quickly formed tribes in their areas in an attempt to survive, due largely to their early social dependency to survive. Skirmishes and wars broke out between tribes as they fought over resources and territory. Tribes remained small, rarely having more than two hundred members, and the forming of pacts and alliances was unheard of. The reverence of nature developed during this time period as tribes began to become more aware of their reliance on their natural resources.

Clan Era- After centuries of fighting with each other, the Tel’varn began to realize that all of the constant conflict was doing more harm than good. Tribes began to merge with one another to form larger and larger groups until they got to the point that clans were formed. With this change, advances in technology and abundance of food began to occur. Violence and conflict was reduced and became something that only happened when necessary for the survival of the clans. The beginnings of the code of honor was form during this period.

Clan Wars Era- Nearly two centuries after clans had completely replaced all tribes, clans began to look towards expanding their territories. Skirmishes began to break out early on which spurred the formation of alliances between different clans. As the alliances became solidified across the planet, war erupted as the bolder clans decided to forcibly take land. This lead to a hectic period of constant warfare that resulted in the loss of nearly one third of the Tel’varn population world wide.

Confederacy Era- In the wake of the bloodshed of the Clan War Era, the clans finally met together and formed a confederacy of every clan across the planet. Every clan agreed to avoid warfare amongst each other and any violators risked retaliation from every other clan. The formation of the code of honor and laws of the living happened and became universally enforced amongst all the clans. Any issues that occur between the clans were handled by the confederacy of clans. This era is the one that the planet is currently and the longest lasting era.

Events: Gulag Plague- Due to the isolation of the planet from the rest of the galaxy for thousands of years, the people of the planet never did experience an outbreak from the gulag plague that had devastated the galaxy for so long.

Fraying Weave- During the Netherworld world event, the planet experienced many of the strange effects due to the force that other planets had experienced. There was sudden outbreaks of snowstorms in the desert and during the summer seasons in the other areas. Winds able to knock over trees hit the forests of the northern regions. Sudden thunderstorms appearing within seconds when no clouds were in the sky on the plains. Miss mysteriously disappeared without warning all over the planet. There were no answers to be had from the mystics and learned folk on the planet. The event became known only as the Fraying Weave with only questions left in its wake.

Notable PCs: Gray Raxis

Intent: Tel’erra is being created to provide a planet to provide raw resources of all kinds for the Free Colonies and for Justice Shipping to take advantage of. It is also being created to provide people a unique planet to use for their role plays. The planet is also to act as a homeworld for the Tel’varn people.

Additional Information: The planet sits on the inner edge of the gas ring and half of the planet is surrounded by the gas. This means interplanetary communications must be made during the daylight hours due to them being blocked otherwise. There is a constant aurora during the night as the gas from the ring is seen. The electrical storms raging through the gas ring can also be seen at night from the planet’s surface.

I look forward to working with you as well!

It's good that you've attached a source link to each image. However, the link will need to lead to either the original artist or the page you got it from. Please adjust.

We require all planet subs to mention in history how it was affected by the Netherworld Event and the Gulag Plague. Please provide this.

Thanks

Alright I edited the source links to take you to the pages where the pictures are located, added in how those two events effected the planet, and I changed one of the pictures out for a better one.

On the new picture I changed it partly due to the difficulty I had getting back to its page, and partly because I found one I liked better for it. I switched the picture out and put in the source to the new picture as well. I hope that was okay.

I look forward to working with you as well :).

So, lets begin.

Not really an edit just a suggestion for terminology. Debris disk. Yeah, that sounds cool (and is tied more closely to stars than rings).

I trust that you know that you are missing the diameter portion. It's not required, just making sure that was intentional.

And what unique nature would that be? Gimme some deets, we talking some anomaly in reference to the cosmic event that destroyed all the other planets? I.e. The Burmuda Triangle of the Star wars universe? Gravitational issues and the like, messing with the sensors and preventing star charts? Oddly dangerous sector, caused by the creation of the massive debris cloud around the sun, the normally prevented venturing? Gas ring causing communication issues? Be creative here, or just paste the portion in here that I may have missed somewhere else.

Got an extra word (or two) in there.

This is interesting, I'd like to read more about this. My first concern reading this was an issue in regard to bottlenecking (i.e. not enough of a human and togruta mix to produce anything genetically different enough to not cause mutation once they start procreating with each other). What I want to know is why? Why didn't the natives simply run the outsiders off? What made them attractive to the population, enough so to start hybridizing. And how do you account for the large population difference between Human/Togruta and the native population (prior to hybridization)? These are simply questions that I want you to think about and if you can level explanations that answer these questions, the more the merrier. I'm picturing a sliding scale, the population moving slowly from mostly natives to mostly hybrids, with some purebloods still running around where natives choose to mate only with themselves. Just keep in mind that there would be more to this than simply hybridizing, species wise. Assimilation of cultures would be required as well.

With that in mind, I have some specific questions:
-Got any idea for specific clan names or are you going to develop that as part of the species? I think it would suit this sub well but it's not necessarily required.
-You spoke of gods, a pantheon of sorts. Any idea on specifics with this?

Overall, very nice and well written sub.

Okay first off I want to be clear I am looking to discuss these next points with you to get a better idea of what you are looking for and not so much to argue, because arguing is both disrespectful to you and because it doesn't benefit anyone. With that said, I will get to it:

1) Thank you for the suggestion on the name change from rings to debris disk! I did not know there was a different name for it, and you are right about it just sounding better especially for the information involved in the submission. I will be sure to change it.

2) Yes I intentionally left the diameter portion out of the submission, thanks for asking me about it!

3) I mentioned part of the reason for this in the addition information section at the end of the submission, but I will be sure to expand more on that portion so it makes sense.

4) I'm a little embarrassed that typo is in there! I thought I read through it closer than that. I will be sure to fix it.

5) I don't think I was clear enough on this section it seems. There was no native sentient species on the planet originally. Over time the human and togruta colonists began to interbreed to the point that a new race came out of it unique to the planet and became a pseudo native species. I can clarify this more if you feel it is needed, and I can see how it might be. Just let me know about that!

6) I plan on doing a species submission for the Tel'varn people and planned to expanded much more on their culture including the pantheon of gods and the likes in it. I figured that would make things easier if I did, but I can expand more on it in the planet sub if you want me to.

Alright, I think I addressed everything there. I look forward to your feedback and will make changes according to what you say.

Only going to touch on five, I think you are in the right direction with everything else.

When you get the opportunity, look up the concept of population bottleneck (I can get you a link if needed, I'm currently on mobile). In simplest terms, this is a potential consequence of a population reduction due to some catastrophic event. In this case, it would apply to the situation of your hybrids. What it states is that, due to a small initial reproduction size, the progeny of those ancestors have a decreased genetic variation compared to what we might see with a healthy and normal population. What this does is leaves the population extremely vulnerable to disease or other events as it lacks the variety needed to carry the resistant genes through the event.

Now, it's hypothesized that 70000 years ago, humans went through a bottleneck. And slowly but surely, we have recovered (from 40000 individuals on the planet to 7 billion, strong and diverse). So obviously it's not a deal breaker.

But I do think it's something you need to consider at least particularly for the species submission and potentially here, as a means of stress for the population during its initial development and how that might have impacted their culture. It's fortunate that they were isolated otherwise the gulag plague would have been a very real threat to their survival.

Tag me when you've made your edits and we can move right along.

[member="Reverance"]

Alright sorry for the delay, but I made edits. I hope they are along the lines of what you are looking for. I made changes to the first paragraph of their culture as well as to their hybridization section of history about the effects of their population bottle necking. If it needs more detail please let me know and I will be sure to update it once again.
