Tatooine Slave Auction

Scene
The cruel sun beat down, it's duel malevolent eyes unblinking, and the sky was it's co-conspirator with not even a wisp of cloud to soften the harsh rays. The fauna took shelter in the shadows of the rocks where the sand was not hot enough to roast them. Each step sunk into the searing sand, the air was thick and hazy, each breath like drowning in larva. This is Tatooine.
Character
A podium with four armed individuals catch your eye, the largest of the four a man in a grubby corduroy cloth cap, an old dull white shirt with two buttons missing and pantaloons that had seen better days. His attire shaping itself around him as he moves, animated with the small breeze that sweep over the podium, foul smell of cigarette smoke and stale beer hang around him in an aroma.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you. Today's auction concludes of a young female Miraluka. Do we have any bids!"
His arm would strike out cutting diagonally through the air, prodding the Miraluka forward parading her around the podium, she appeared to be young her eyes covered in flannel cloth with bland and pale skin.

Rhain would be wearing her usual full bodied robe with a hood to keep the sun out, the colours bland and soft, though with a metallic collar latched around the neck. She would be standing, or attempting to stand as she quivered in fear by the side of [member="Flannigan Mcnash"]

Cadan's beading, red, eyes would scan over the the crowds, that both looked and walked by. His Raven Gauss Rifle in his hands, ready to use. He wore a coat over his armor, both his armor and clothes looked like they had seen better days.
He'd look towards Flannigan. "Thraxis and me will make sure there's no trouble boss."
He'd continue scanning over the crowd. His left hand would come up to wipe the beads of sweat from his forehead. His hand coming down and wiping his scarred and burnt cheek.

Yuroic had arrived on the desert planet for a spot of free time to relax and practice his Force powers as he usually did. Though Tatoonine was far from relaxing and refreshing to mosy, when you live on the smugglers' moon anything is better. He noticed another slave auction. His timing seemed to terrible, he sighed though. He had gathered a fair amount of creds and he was feeling a bit better.

He walked closer to the stage, he groaned. There they were, the Jackals. They attempted to kill him on Nar Shaddaa but instead slaughtered several innocent people. Yuroic had sworn revenge but it was crowd and difficult to fight here with more trouble. Instead Yuroic raised a hand in bidding for the slave.

He was going to buy her then free her, right in front of them. He thought himself lucky that his hood covered his face and he blended in with the others eager to buy.

Rhain would do as directed, taking soft and short steps around the podium, her legs physically quivering from the fear that any young child would have in the situation.

Cadan would whistle and call out to the slave girl. "See that water over there... Oh wait you probably don't." He'd let out a small chuckle. "Go get it for me." He'd kick dirt at her, as he commands her to get the drink. "And don't try anything stupid."

He'd look back to the crowd and notice the hand. " 'ow much you bidding?" He'd say non-too pleasantly.
[member="Rhain"] [member="Yuroic Xeraic"]

Rhain would wince at the feeling of dirt being kicked at her, nodding frantically at the order, she would attempt to use her force sight to find the water, but everything around seemed more transparent than usual and from fear of being beaten, she began to hesitantly walk in a direction that she believed the water to be in.

A glint of curiosity flickered in her eyes.
When was the last time she had attended a slave auction?... Ah, yes. Many moons ago, back when the Callers still ruled Panatha. Outsiders had offered their best 'toys' to the royal family. Those that weren't accepted had then been auctioned off, the profit going to fund the government.
How had she felt about it then? Oh, she had been horrified...
Now she simply felt resigned. This was the way of the galaxy. And it was time for her to join in.

Fletcher had been on Tatooine for a few days now, attending slave auctions around the planet and feeling the whole disturbing experience. As he didn't get paid for being a Padawan, he didn't have the money to free the slaves. Though he had aided the people that had.

The Padawan looked back at the stage, after being lost in thought for a moment, and recognised the alien from Nar Shadda, then the others that accompanied him. They were criminals in the eyes of the Republic. Well, they were criminals in the eyes of anyone. It only made him more determined to free the slaves they had.

It was extremely hot on this planet, something Fletcher could bare despite multiple layers of clothes and hood concealing his face. He hadn't noticed [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] and called out to [member="Cadan Tazi"]. "I'll give you 5,000." he said, not really knowing how much slaves sold for and not really having the money.

Rhain would eventually end up finding the water source, before obtaining a cup to dip into it and filling it to the brim, after such she would take in a deep breath before returning to [member="Cadan Tazi"] and handing over the cup, in a wavering voice she would softly speak up.

"I- I hope th- that's c- cold enough f- for you."

[member="Yuroic Xeraic"] [member="Cadan Tazi"] [member="Flannigan Mcnash"] [member="Erith Hallawin"] [member="Fletcher Lorcan"]

Cadan would take the cup in his left hand, making sure to not release his weapon in his right hand. "Thankyou my dear." He'd say in a flat, calm voice. "Now put a smile on for everyone here."

While he was drinking, he'd spit out the water, the small droplets flying out of his mouth and landing on the hot sand of Tatooine. "5,000! Get more for selling disabled Kowakian monkey-lizards we would!" He'd bring the cup back to his lips, and let the liquids trickle down his throat.

Fletcher glared at the man from beneath his hood but kept his voice level. "25,000." he had no problem bidding money he didn't have but at least they didn't know that. The Padawan moved forwards through the crowds to get closer to the stage but still keeping a fair distance between him and the alien.

His gaze moved towards the young girl, she looked very small and fragile. It wasn't right for her to be stuck here like this.

[member="Cadan Tazi"] [member="Rhain"]

Rhain would quiver a little from the sudden shout, as [member="Fletcher Lorcan"] approached the front, her head would raise and seem to be staring directly at the padawan, though it would seem impossible due to the blindfold over her face. After a moment, Rhain's lips quiver a little as she forces a smile upon her face.

The woman, clad in a simple brown robe and shawl, perked an eyebrow at the first offer. 5,000 was low- even for a seemingly young slave. Or at least it was considered low where she came from. One of the guards made a comment on the price and confirmed her suspicions. They were expecting a fairly larger amount.
How much did she have with her again?... Oh, right, barely ten thousand. There was plenty more in her account, but most sellers didn't like waiting for you to link it to them. Slave trades generally involved cold, hard cred chips. Something this... kid? Whoever the bidder was, they looked like an adult (based on size), but their voice sounded... younger.
Interesting. Either way he didn't seem to have much money. Until he spoke again.
"25,000."
What an intruiging turn of events. Not enough to make her draw attention to herself so soon into the auction, of course. Not yet...

Cadan would place the cup down and bring his rifle up, not pointing it at Fletcher, but having it ready.

He'd look towards Flannigan. "What do you say Cap'n?"

"We've got 25,000!" he'd pull a long tube like cigar from his top pocket, setting it between the crux of his lips, rolling it from one side to the next getting a taste for the thing. "Do we have any higher bidders!" proclaiming with a wave of his arm, animating his coat with the sudden movement the multi-hued patches rippling in a show of showmanship.

Yuroic noticed Fletcher, he could sense the Force following from him as he raised his hand and his dark voice. "27,000." It was his whole lot of creds but freeing the slave and seeing their smirks was enough to sate his empty account. He rarely spent money so he was fine with spending it.

He moved to Fletcher and nudged his hard in the ribs, he knew from experience that Jedi didn't really earn money, not padawans at least, not this kind of money. "Either stop raising the price Fletcher or be prepared to fight a deadly fight with these criminals. They will just take you as a slave instead." He whispered to the boy as he looked to the stage hoping no one else raised the price.

Rhain's lip quivers a little as her forced smile begins to falter, though she didn't smile there wasn't a frown upon her face because she was too scared, fearing the repercussions of what may happen if she showed any signs that The Jackal's may not of liked. Rhain stood still in front of the group, trying to keep her head raised but her quivering legs made it hard for her to keep such up.

Another bid came in, this one from a seemingly older, though not by much, male.
Once again the woman raised a single eyebrow. Why was the man moving towards the one who had made the first offer? As casually as she could she reached out with the force, hoping to overhear what was being said. "Either stop raising the price Fletcher or be prepared to fight a deadly fight with these criminals. They will take you as a slave instead." So they knew each other... Then why were they bidding against each other? Were they enemies? If so, why the warning?
Suddenly there were more questions than answers. Perhaps a little... poking might get her closer to what she wanted. Whatever that was.
"You sure you can afford that?" She asked, stepping forward slightly, voice level. "Wouldn't want to get anybody's-" she glanced at the slave for sale quickly, "hopes up, now would we?" As usual her shawl covered her face, preventing them from seeing all but the brightness of her eyes- one blue, one green- and the slight curve of her dark brows. These details weren't enough to tell much about her. Her voice was only a slight clue. The woman was definitely not a kid.
Or she was just very good at disguising her voice.
