- Name: Syn Geists
- Designation: Semi sentient
- Origins: Heart of Syn
- Average Lifespan: Considering these are already dead, they're lifespan is wholly dependant on how long they are maintained outside of their prison (the Heart of Syn) and how powerful they are individually (the stronger the geist, the less time they will have within real space) alongside the number of geists that are being maintained. Average Geists individually would be capable of remaining in realspace with little to no effort for several days.
- Estimated Population: RARE
- Description: Syn Summoned Geists or Syn Geists are in their nature a spiritual representation of the force of their former selves, relatively speaking they resemble force ghosts in both their general appearance and function, but unlike force ghosts they are much less individualistic as their mind and soul has essentially already been broken within the Heart of Syn, which acts as a prison to any and all claimed souls through its own special functions. These Geists can have any shape or size depending on who they were prior to the absorbtion of their soul within the jewel. They will retain appearance cues to who they were in terms of their clothing, favored weapons and more, but will always have a non-descript, featureless face as part of the fact that they have lost themselves essentially within the darkness of Syn and will always appear as a somewhat semi-solid, spectral beings. while their weapons and attire will act as they did prior to the absorbtion, as these are not the real deal, they are essentially imitations or lesser copies, meaning that while a Jedi Geist's lightsaber may be deadly and dangerous, it would be much less compared to a real lightsaber and would also not have the heat properties of the real deal, being more akin to a regular sword rather than the immensely powerful weapon it ought to be.
- Breathes: As these geists are not by any metric 'living' beings, they can effectively operate in any atmosphere, though they are bound to only be summoned in the atmospheres their original summoner can operate in. (for instance, should
The Lord of Hunger
not be wearing his armor, it is almost wholly unlikely for any summoning to occur in type IV atmosphere) - Average Height of Adults: N/A (taking in account any sentient species of soul which may have been trapped inside the Heart of Syn, there is no set average)
- Average Length of Adults: N/A (see average height explanation)
- Skin color: always spectral, ghostly white
- Hair color: always spectral, ghostly white
- Distinctions: These geists follow the same morphological distinctions as their original species, though with the exception of colors as those are not relevant nor expressed in their outward appearance. As they also follow the attire and original appearance of who they were prior to their absorption into the Heart of Syn, individuals which disguised themselves through their attire to look less like their attributed gender would thus also bear the same disguise in the geistform. So, while genders and species can be distinguished by size, bodyshape and so forth, it would be difficult to distinguish between a human and a chiss geist as they lack the naturally occuring features they had in their life. This is further compounded by the generally faceless appearance of geists, representing their broken mind and will.
- Races: Geists are reflections of who the souls were prior to their death and absorption, meaning geists can be Togrutans, humans, yuuzhan vong, etc... however, as these do not have any significant impact upon the overall function or strength of the geists generally, it is to be assumed that Geists are simply geists and can't be accurately separated into distinct categories, classes or races.
- Force Sensitivity: High : While not every individual whose soul was absorbed into the Heart of Syn has been force sensitive, due to the nature of the item and it's precursor the Jivanikas Jewel, it is rare to find any non-force sensitive geist, though not impossible. As geists are built out of the force though, even if the geist itself is not force sensitive, it will still follow the principles under which the force acts and is affected.
- Very useful and handy means of bolstering one's military might in a pinch
- their semi solid shape and state makes them much harder to kill using conventional means
- geists retain special abilities, capacities and powers they had in life, though these may be hindered by their new form in certain cases
- due to their semi-solid shape they can operate in almost any environment which would make it impossible for living beings to effectively operate in, their semi-living state also makes them wholly immune to radiation, extreme thermal shifts, while also making them less receptible to kinetic and energy damage.
- as long as a geist is not recalled (forcefully or otherwise) to the Heart of Syn, they can be reconstituted over a period of time within realspace.
- Due to not being the real deal, any weapons or armor worn and used by these geists is effectively inferior to the real deal.*
- While they retain most, if not all of their abilities and capacities within the force, a geist's physical power due to its semisolidity is lower than when it was still of flesh and bone.
- research has shown that for some reason, certain high pitch frequencies can dissipate a geist, while also electromagnetic pulses can damage and even forcefully dissipate a geist.
- Diet: Other - Geists are not classified as living beings and thus do not require any sustenance besides the application of the Force to maintain their semi solid shape.
- Communication: Most Geists do not communicate themselves, though they do understand all standard commands, be they visual cues, vocal or telepathic commands.
- Technology level: the Geists technological level and knowledge is based almost entirely on the timeperiod from which they hail, though the majority may very well be considered galactic standard due to the general stagnation of technologic advancements within the galaxy.
- Religion/Beliefs: geists are manifestations of unique individuals from the past, though they may have once had religions and beliefs of their own, they are now bound by the will and belief of the one who summons them through the Heart of Syn, thus making religion and belief no longer a factual matter of importance for any and all Geists.
- General behavior: As geists are no longer classified as living beings, do not require any sustenance, have little to no will of their own, they do not have any behavior which can be considered general. Their time in real space generally would not allow them the time nor the ability to truly expand upon the modicum of freedom they have within the limits and boundaries of their summons.
The Geists were originally a creation or rather a discovery made by Darth Mephis - Arcosius Nargath, the forefather of
Indeed, for the rainbow gem had a will, a mind of its own and as it had become subject of torture through mental suppression, its will and mind fractured to serve the need of the Sith Lord, the rainbow gem had become a vessel of madness and insanity, it's fractured mind and will becoming an endless plane of returning torment and torture in and of itself, a limitless mindscape akin to the very void itself. To Mephis' own surprise, the Vele Jivanikas Jewel was capable of draining and absorbing more than just one person's essence, as each dead jedi, sith, or other unfortunate soul dying directly by his own hand seemed to end up having their very essence drawn into the ravenous maw of the jewel. Eventually, so too this came to pass to the Sith Lord himself, who as he lay dying in his deathbed, could feel his very essence being drawn into the jewel.
As the jewel passed hands in the long Nargath Bloodline, it sometimes came accross strong and exceptionally gifted individuals, and it was those individuals who investigated the strangeness of the jewel, figuring out how it worked, how it operated and more importantly: how this very power could be useful to their own ends and needs. However, each and everyone did make progress, but in the end all seemed to fail to go beyond simply drawing upon the power of the jewel for short periods of time. That is, until the Lord of Hunger or rather Credius Nargath discovered a means to communicate with the spirits or souls within. Most of these souls were broken, their will and mind shattered through eons of insanity and torment, but some, strong of will and with great desire, were capable to retain themselves. It is with the eldest of these strong-willed beings that Credius managed to communicate: Darth Mephis himself, who theorised that all of his scions had failed because they lacked the most vital ingredient to utilize the jewel's powers fully: an immense or even nigh unlimited source of the living force.
Through his infection and subsequent mutation though, the Lord of Hunger had managed to fullfill this requirement and when his mutant strain had been forced to permanently attach itself to the jewel, drawing in not only its power, but also infecting the jewel's very mindscape, a means had been created for Credius to effectively draw out the souls hidden within the jewel at the expense of the force. Akin to creating a portal or conjuring nigh solid constructs with illusonary magicks the summoning technique was in and of itself not all that hard, but one needed to have an unyielding will, a ravenous desire to draw out the souls from the jewel and even then, most of those within would never manifest fully, as most within the jewel already were beyond the state of even knowing fully who they themselves were in life, resulting in summoned souls which lacked most, if not all facial features and resembled ghosts more than any living being. these Geists as they would be called, were still quite hard to summon at first, with Credius having only summoned one or two in the first months after having effectively fused with the vele Jivanikas jewel.
However, as time progressed, the geists which could be summoned became more numerous, more distinctive beyond just plain apparitions and their use became apparent, as puppet soldiers, emergency trump cards, unwavering forces to be deployed at a moments notice at the will and favor of the one in control of the Vele Jivanikas jewel or more specifically as it was called after having fused with the Lord of Hunger: the Heart of Syn.
