GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: Twice-Standard - Due to the size of the planet - being a Super World - the surface gravity is thicker with a much thicker atmosphere.
  • Climate: The world's climate is quite chilly due to the presence of the Dark Side Nexus and the size of its oceans and seas. While not unbearably cold, immigrated species could find the winds and ocean breeze uncomfortable. Additionally, storms can happen quite frequently and can decrease the temperature even more. Overall, however, the world's climate does not make it uninhabitable save for the most extreme cases of climate-specific species.
  • Primary Terrain: A super world for all intents and purposes, Stygan Atrophus' landscape suffers from the increased erosion that comes from the thicker atmosphere and flatter topography. This, in turn, made Stygan Atrophus a type of "archipelago" planet as well, with much of its landmass being a series of chained islands. The islands themselves are often simply rolling plains, steep hills, jungles, and forests, depending on their distance to the equator and the North and South Poles. However, some of the islands do possess mountains, which are considered either holy or damned places depending on who - or what - inhabits them.
  • Atmosphere: Type-1
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Grush Khal | The Atoll Fortress
    • Gran Khal: The official capital of the world, Gran Khal encompasses three entire islands - connected via marvelous stone bridges - and houses the highest population of Stygians, from the Taapʼawyeep to the Hi. Life here is a melting pot, although the religion of each inhabitant seems to remain the same as it is everywhere else - save for the Choosh.
    • The Atoll Fortress: The governmental capital, the Atoll Fortress houses the reclusive Tshotaakyaam and Hiisi, who rule the world with iron fists. The Atoll Fortress is virtually impregnable, with numerous manned and unmanned defenses that ensure its protection every second of the day. Even getting close is a challenge as the waters surrounding the atoll itself are laced with mines and carnivorous beasts that will not hesitate the sink any would-be invaders. None save the intended inhabitants and the royal guard have ever visited the Atoll Fortress, and it has subsequently become a place of legend.
  • Planetary Features:
    • Islands: Due to the higher gravity that comes with a world this size, the planet's landscape has been weathered down to islands scattered across the oceans and seas. Most of the islands in this world are uninhabited entirely, only inhabited by an inconsequential population of explorers - native or immigrated - or cursed by the presence of the Fallen Stygians. As such, this style of landscape comes with plentiful opportunities for exploration, investigation, and hunts.
    • Deep Forestry: The forests of Stygan Atrophus's many islands are vast, with wide sprawling canopies and a host of plant life that defy imagination. It is quite easy to become lost in these marvelously large areas, even for an experienced hunter, as the lush beauty is beyond appealing for most travelers. This is especially true for off-worlders who do not stick to the proper pathways, with the planet having claimed more immigrated life than it has native life simply due to exposure to the elements.
    • Dark Waters: The waters of every single liquid body on Stygan Atrophus are void-like, even in the shallow ends. Light cannot even penetrate the surface of the waters and the sea life that inhabits the waves are hostile to the extreme, immediately swarming all Stygians save for the Choosh. It is because of this that many Stygians and immigrated explorers have developed an aversion to the seas and oceans.
  • Major Locations:
    • Teidsalo: The half-sunken island of the Choosh (a sub-race of the Stygians), Teidsalo is a wondrously beautiful place full of distinct cultural complexities that make even the standard fare Stygian beliefs pale in comparison. Rather than worshiping the God of the Hunt, the Choosh worship the enigmatic deity known only as "Deep." It is this figure who is said to be the very black waters that the non-Choosh fear, and the religious practices performed in its name come from such archaic esoterica that most non-Choosh refuse to even try to understand them. Cannibalism, ritualistic drownings, scarification, and a host of increasingly disturbing and vile things have kept the Choosh from suffering much despite their low rank among the social ladder of the Stygians.
    • Soshel: The arid island located along the equator, Soshel is the home to the mysterious T'ee - the nomadic and prophetic Force Sensitives of the Stygian species who were blessed with the positives of the planet's Nexus. Containing vegetation and water only in the oases dotting the scorched rocky sands, as well as being occupied by a number of dangerous insectoids and reptilian beasts, Soshel is often avoided by the other Stygian races - nearly as much as Teidsalo. It is quite possibly the largest of the islands inhabited by those who have not Fallen to the effects of the Nexus, although it is also ironically one of the most sparsely populated.
    • Si'gan: The tribal island found in the north, Si'gan is the home to the warrior race of the Taapʼawyeep. The island is a frozen place, devoid of any additional life beyond stubborn trees with gnarled roots and an elk-like race the Taap'awyeep use for clothing, food, trade. Travel here is limited due to the harshness of its environment, but the prowess of the Taap'awyeep and their smithing skills with the metals present under the ice makes them a highly valuable commodity to the Stygians, especially to those living in the Atoll Fortress.
    • Roia: More of a mountain than an island, Roia is considered a holy place of pilgrimage for the Stygians and is where many of the sacrifices of the Fallen take place. The steep shelves of the mountain face have become drenched in blood and runes and inscriptions dot the stone as if it were paper. However, the true majesty of Roia lies inside, for the mountain secretly serves as the entrance to a series of tunnels deep under the surface of the world, far below the bottom of the oceans. The tunnels themselves house the most afflicted of the Fallen that proved too dangerous to let roam the islands. They now fume alone, stored away in lightless chambers to be dealt with at a later time. None save for the Tshotaakyaam and Black-Blooded Ones know of this.
    • Draicuria: An island isolated so far from all others that it does not even appear on the map, Draicuria is home to the largest congregation of Fallen to have ever existed. All attempts to destroy the Fallen population on this island have failed due to mass breeding and rapid evolutionary resistances to physical damage. Essentially, the only thing keeping Stygan Atrophus safe from the horde that lives here is the fact that none can swim the distance to reach civilization.
  • Force Nexus: Yes
    • Intent: To provide in-depth reasoning as to the effects of the planet's dark nature as well as add a "why" to all of it.
    • Nexus Name: Stygan Atrophus
    • Nexus Alignment: Dark - Despite the beauty of some places and the overall lushness of its environment, Stygan Atrophus is unequivocally dark and it is this darkness in the Force that influenced the evolutionary depravity of the planet's inhabitants. Nightmare creatures stalk the world in packs, ceremonious sacrifices are commonplace, and the Stygians themselves believe in a Dark God of the Hunt, Maladar. This Maladar is said to constantly test his subjects by inflicting a never-ending curse known as "the Fall," which mutates the Stygians into said nightmare creatures.
    • Size: Planetary
    • Strength: Strong
    • Accessibility: N/A | Planetary
    • Effects:
      • The Pull: Newborns and travelers visiting the planet are immediately beset by the dark nature of the Nexus that seeks to inflict its evil will upon all who will accept its offers of power and reward. Naturally, every single native-born of the planet is infected with the Dark Side, and only the strongest can resist the Fall - the formal term for the complete corruption of the mind and body. The latter fact of the Nexus' effects attributes to the low population of the planet in comparison to others in the Galaxy,

POPULATION
  • Native Species: Stygians
  • Immigrated Species: Due to the hostile nature of the planet's environment and native species, immigration has been a near-impossible venture, although some isolated research and trade teams have maintained some form of living on the planet's smaller and more deserted islands. The species that have managed immigration include:
    • Humans
    • Mirialan
    • Togruta
    • Chiss
    • Zabrak
    • Twi'Lek
  • Population: Moderate - On a planet of smaller size, Stygan Atrophus' population would be considered heavy or even crowded. However, due to the sheer magnitude of the super world, the population is recorded as being less than most others in the galaxy. Another attributing factor to this is the Stygians' refusal to count the Fallen and other creatures among their population statistics. If they did, it would possibly increase the population count up to "heavy."
  • Demographics:
    • 52% Unfallen Stygians
    • 35% Fallen Stygians
    • 13% Other Life
  • Primary Languages:
    • T'aad Osh: Translated in Galactic Basic as "Gray Tongue," T'aad Osh is the language of the Stygians' ruling nobility, taught in their private schools since monarchism became the primary governmental function of the planet. The vernacular of this language is of such age that the general populace of Stygan Atrophus has found it near-impossible to understand, making most public appearances by the speakers' that much more tense, frightening, and frustrating.
    • Smiitsa Osh: Translated in Galactic Basic as "Young Tongue," Smiitsa Osh is the language of the Stygians' general populace, from the lower class to the upper-middle class.
    • Hunter's Creole: Secreted away from all folk on Stygan Atrophus save for the ruling family and those on a need-to-know basis, Hunter's Creole is a verbal-sign Creole language developed specifically for the defenders and outward of the planet. As stated in its very name, it is a combination of languages learned by Stygan Atrophus' interstellar explorers, known as Hunters - although some records detail this name being an alternative for the Black-Blooded Ones on Maladar. As such, this language's complexities are even more vast than T'aad Osh and showcases rudimentary, conversational, and fluent understandings in quite a few languages. These include Galactic Basic, High Galactic, Cheuhn, Huttese, Kaleesh, Catharese, and several Trade Languages. How this Creole came to be is unknown, and due to the rarity in which it is spoken, it will likely remain that way for the foreseeable future.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Theocratic Totalitarian Absolute Monarchy
  • Affiliation: Stygan Atrophus maintains independence from the rest of the Galaxy and vehemently opposes any and all attempts of control by outside forces.
  • Wealth: Medium - Compared to the rest of the Galaxy, Stygan Atrophus is not magnificently wealthy, but it is not in a state of destitution either. Thanks to its trade of metals and materials with a very select group of organizations, the planet has maintained a respectable state of planetary income - enough to field a sizeable defense force on land, sea, air, and space.
  • Stability: Medium
  • Freedom & Oppression: [ Describe the atmosphere of freedom on this planet. Are the people fairly free or is oppression of society and commerce heavy? Does it have a dictatorial ruler? Is fear of the ruling body prevalent? Relaxed and open? Is anything unusual illegal or permitted? ]
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: [ Describe the military capabilities of this planet. Is it completely demilitarized? A fortress world complete with heavy defenses? A space-faring world with a substantial navy? Is it a hive of scum and villainy with no discernible defense structure other than what it's inhabitants have to offer? Or maybe due to low tech the people here are still in the bronze age. ]
  • Technology: [ A description of how technologically advanced the planet is relative to the galaxy. If there is nothing of note, simply put ‘Galactic Standard’. ]
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
[ Include a history of the planet here. Be sure to cover the following information:
How was the planet discovered? How was the planet settled? When was it settled? Why was it settled? What major events specific to the planet helped shape its inhabitants to what they are today? If there is a Nexus, how did it come about and how did it influence the history of the planet?

Remember that these custom planets may be submitted to the map for the community to enjoy. The more background you set down, the more clearly others will be able to understand your view of your creation. ]

Reason for Archival: After some thinking, I decided this needs to be shelved. My attention needs to put towards my faction's stuff and I would rather this not clog up the pre-codex. I'll come back to this later though.
