- Si Math: The Typhoon is designed with a simple philosophy. Fire enough ordinance at an enemy capital ship, something will get through. With twelve Typhoons to a squadron, and 80 missiles on the default chassis, plus the 12 optional missile pods with 36 rockets each, the numbers don't lie. And they spell disaster for anyone a squadron of Typhoons is aiming at.
- Customizable: While the Typhoon's hardpoints are originally designed for missile pods, they are capable of holding just about any loadout needed. Between acting as a an Electronic Warfare ship, a jammer ship, a gunboat, or anything else you need. And of course, you should be able to stuff those tubes with whatever type of missiles you want.
- Banzai Rush: The Typhoon is shockingly fast, designed to close the distance between it and it's target quickly, then disengage just as quickly. It's trio of engines, between it's massive ion engine and twin starfighter engines with SLAM, gives it the Typhoon supreme acceleration.
- Unwieldly: The K-wing, by design, is a bit of a whale in space. While it can ditch it's hardpoint attachments to up it's manuverability, it's still a large target in space that isn't designed for dogfighting.
- One Trick Pony: The K-wing's inherent design is that it's a massive missile platform. Once those missiles are sent downrange, it has to retreat and reload.
Si Tech's recent participation of the Battle over Corellia exposed a glaring flaw in their arsenal. The lack of a dedicated missile boat led them to the development of the Typhoon Class, based on old blueprints from the Galactic Alliance's old arsenal. The K-wing was the result, a heavy fighter designed to throw as much ordinance at an enemy as possible, with a maximum loadout of 512 missiles to a single fighter. The end result was that the Typhoon is a rainstorm of missiles, waiting to be unleashed.
