SETTING INFORMATION
  • Starship Name: Titan II
  • Starship Model: Supertanker Fuel Depot (STF-Depot)
  • Classification: Refueling & Resupply Depot
  • Homeport: Dosuun System
  • Travel Route: Southern Imperial Trade Route; able to divert to service fleet positions as needed
  • Affiliation: The First Order
  • Crew Complement: Heavily Manned
  • Notable Crew Members: Captain Thullix (NPC - Female Pantoran); EVA Suit Crew Aurek (NPCs)
  • Accessibility: Access to Titan II is restricted to First Order military use only. The only exception to this protocol is if a civilian vessel is escorted by a First Order military force, and appropriate scans and precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of the depot to service the non-military vessel. The main method for access is by use of encrypted codes, which are regularly updated via receptive Integrated Fleet Command Data Exchange Network connection; this network connection only goes one way, to the depot, which means even if the Titan II were commandeered, there would be no access to the exchange network - only from it.
  • Description: The Titan II is a practical design, shaped similarly to a low-tech nail, it has been constructed to allow access on its main four planes of direction - top, sides and bottom - to up to four (4) First Order military vessels. The likelihood of the depot servicing four warships simultaneously is unlikely, however the design is in place should the need be there. A dull gray in appearance like most Imperial vessels, the top-most section belongs to the command hub, with each vertical side having an assortment of shielded and blast-sealed access doors. It is these doors that moor with warships, and allow rapid transfer of supplies and fuel via broadside alignment on the horizontal position (the Titan II essentially approaches a Star Destroyer - or similar vessel - sideways and locks into position). Finally, the lowest portion houses a powerful ion engine and extendable landing assembly that allows the Titan II to enter atmosphere and land for restocking. The Titan II, and similar STF-Depot vessels, are upwards of 2,000 meters in length and are able to store large quantities of supplies and personnel to deliver it.
POINTS OF INTEREST

Docking Ports
The docking ports run the vertical length of the Titan II, on all four sides. The ports are protected by hangar shielding and blast doors, and when moored to the broadside of a warship, will open and allow rapid transfer of supplies and restocking fuel or equipment. The crews on the port duty have worked out a system of high efficiency, from many years of execution, and utilize an assortment of repulsor vehicles - such as cargo carriers, hoversleds, and cargo cranes (for larger items). Because the docking ports essentially slot against the side of most Imperial design vessels (utilizing the common triangular shape), the access available is basically the whole broadside length of the depot, and this translates to bulk transfer en masse quickly. There are roughly 4,000 docking crew, halved into day and night shifts (see: crew quarters).

Fabrication Factories
A large portion of the depot is dedicated to fabrication. The factories are housed below the upper command/crew hub, and runs the core length of the vessel. This allows the multiple facilities in use easy access to each of the four port accesses, on each side of the depot. Fabrication is largely automated, and requires significantly less crew than the docking/storage process, and the main equipment used are Duplicators, Garment-Fabrications, Molecular Furnaces, Synthicator Facilities and Solid Fuel Converters. Each of these works in conjunction to process large quantities or materials - whether stocked from Dosuun or recycling removed parts from serviced vessels - into supplies needed by the First Order fleets; nothing is wasted, everything taken from any source, including heavily damaged hull plating from warships or salvaged parts by EVA team Aurek, are used to create more supplies or fuel.

Command Hub
The command hub is where all of the flight, security, defense and sensor crews operate. Located at the very top of the depot, the secure levels are maintained by internal defenses (listed below - see: Security), and require biometrics and security safeguards for access. The space is divided up similarly to a Star Destroyer bridge, where sections are allocated to specific crews, and the central walkway for the Captain has access to each section with unhindered view. And while not pioneering design function, it has proved a reliable and time-tested command area layout, which functions as well as needed for the purpose.

Crew Quarters
Also located in the upper portion of the depot, are the crew quarters. And each crewmate stays in simple but comfortable multi-sentient cabins, with groups occupying multiple beds in a single room. Due to the sheer number of dock workers required to move supplies at any given time, there are actually two major 'round the chrono' teams - day shift and night shift; and when one team is on duty, the other team is using the quarters for rest and visa versa. As such, there are a number of secure lockers in each cabin, allocated for day and night crew. Each cabin also has refresher units, bathroom facilities, and a separate service crew consistently maintain the cabin levels - including cleaning, laundry, cabin tidying, etc.

Mess Hall
The last location of note in the upper portion of the depot, the mess hall is a large common area with long tables and bench seating. The decor is metal. Easy to clean, hard to damage or wear down. A serving section provides meals for all three main eating times, for all crew, day and night. As such, the kitchens also operate on a day/night shift alternation and are more or less constantly cooking and preparing meals at all hours, including mass dish washing. Any food not eaten or water not consumed is recycled and utilized in other areas of the depot, where appropriate, once processed through the fabrication factory.

Airlock Section
The airlock section is located at the bottom of the vessel, near the atmospheric landing engine and landing assembly, and is used when in space environments. The airlock crew - EVA Suit Crew Aurek - perform a number of roles at their station. Composed of around 100 personnel, typically on shift rotation, they tend to salvage and reclaim desired items the depot comes across in its travels. Alternatively, they serve as spacewalking repair crews, and are trained in rapid hull section replacement on basically any First Order military or commercial vessel; and when serving this emergency function, all Crew Aurek hands are on deck, and every member is put to task of rapid repairs. The EVA suits are top of the line, and are maintained by a crew quartermaster, who ensures functionality remains within safety standards at all times.

Depot Storage
The depot storage isn't technically a 'place', so much as it is the remainder of the vessel. What isn't taken up by personnel or factories, remains storage space. Crates on crates on crates, all stacked and secured, and held in place by an assortment of artificial gravity compensators and shields. This is throughout the vessel, arranged into the most common locations per items, based on military vessel loading needs. That is to say, fuel cells are stored roughly where a Star Destroyer has closest access to hyperdrive or reactor placement; or munitions are stored at intervals with military vessel broadside armament locations, etc. The depots are no joke, they know the job and how to be quick and efficient at it - and at this point, the Titan II is a well oiled machine that is top of the class, when it comes to serving as a supply depot for the First Imperial Navy.

SECURITY
The security rating of the depot is High, due to the defensive measures it has to utilize against hostilities. The Titan II, and other STF-Depot vessels, are not designed for battle or engagements beyond purely defensive retreat. Prolonged fighting is not an option, and the command crew are under strict orders to avoid any and all combat, as they are able, to ensure the vessels are not damaged or destroyed - which would severely hinder long-range supply support for the fleets of the First Order. As such, the main security equipment installed and used for the Titan II (and other STF-Depots) are:
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Titan II is a newer version of the previous Supertanker Fuel Depot, with the addition of increased size, supply functionality and personnel allotment. There has always been a need for long-range support for the First Order fleets, especially when precious patrol times can't be wasted on full return to supply bases in distant systems. That's where the Titan II, and other STF-Depot vessels, are so vital - they allow for mobile supply stations, which can fabricate what is needed in-vessel, that can come to a fleet when required.

There are a number of STF-Depots throughout First Order space, however the Titan II is the one that was the first off the line of new vessels after the Sacking of Dosuun. Named after the previous version, Titan, it has served as an excellently commanded, outfitted and effective support for the First Imperial Navy for many years now. And under the leadership of the skilled and capable Captain Thullix (NPC), the Titan II has not only lived up to - but exceeded - its predecessor, and leads the way in support and refueling of all other STF-Depots currently in service.

When a fleet needs the best, the Titan II answers the call.

Matt the Radar Tech Matt the Radar Tech The only thing I really see is that STF vessels usually are built with a Hyperdrive Class of 2. Titan II has an Class 1. With it being a larger model than the original Titan, I think it'd be a better call to lower the rating to the standard Class 2. It's still efficient and can get where it needs to be, but a bit more balanced, if that makes sense.

What are your thoughts?

Ylla Caeli'runa I'm not fussed one way or the other. It's not a combat vessel (for RP purposes) so the hyperdrive is arbitrary, really. It's just a thread tool, outside of combat use etc.

I just did class 1 because most vessels have them nowadays. If you want me to change it, I can.

I went and changed it.

Matt the Radar Tech Matt the Radar Tech No problem at all. I really wanted your feedback on if you needed it to be at Class 1 or if it was just one of those things. Not too big of an impact on the sub itself but I thought it was safer to ask than assume. Thank you very much for the clarification and the edit, I really appreciate it!

APPROVED!
