STRENGTHS

CAN TAKE A LICKIN' ...: The transport is meant to be able to get Marine troops and mechanized vehicles in and out of warzones as quickly as possible. It is obvious they would be targeted heavily so the armor and defensive systems in place counter that to the best of their ability.

COMBAT HOVER ...: While repulsor lift technology allows for VTOL modes, the "combat hover" ability allows for slow hovering movement and positioning for not only drop and extraction but air support.

LARGE CARGO BAY AND RAMP: A Marine Mechanized roller could easily roll in and out of the loading bay if necessary, as well two entire platoons and their gear.

WEAKNESSES

EXPOSED ENGINES: A well-placed shot could disable either engine and effectively ground the ship

HERKY JERKY: The ship is highly maneuverable, but without almost constant practice, the controls can put the Pegasus out of control.

EXPOSED COCKPIT: It's not an easy shot at all, but the cockpit is vulnerable to a marksman with a strong weapon.

DESCRIPTION

A product of Haor Chall Engineering Corporation, the Sheathipede-class was a transportshuttle with a curved hull and pincer-like landing gears, which lowered from the ship's rounded belly, and the shuttle's shape roughly resembled the Neimoidian soldier beetle. At a length of 14.4 meters, the shuttle was powered by two engines and featured an egress hatchway at the rear. Some models replaced the cockpit with an expanded passenger cabin, and were flown by automatic pilots. Stock Sheathipede shuttles were unarmed and only possessed a basic shield generator, meaning that, rather than relying on strength, the ships relied on speed and a small sensor cross-section to get to a destination. Many of the shuttles used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems were upgraded with improved shielding, better armor, and larger engines. While uncommon, a decent number had light weapons added, typically in the form a trio of laser cannons. These armed Sheathipedes were used to move very valuable materiel through hostile locations and transport high-rankingofficers and officials. This new model, built by GAL Ltd. is larger, with a stronger frame, more powerful engines, and not only a larger cargo bay, but cables enabling it to carry a larger payload both inside and outside the ship. The new model also features enhanced defensive capabilities, including advanced shield generators and reinforced armor plating, making it more resilient in hostile environments. Additionally, its improved sensor suite allows for better navigation and detection of potential threats, ensuring safer transport of high-value cargo and personnel.The new model also includes advanced communication systems for secure and efficient coordination, as well as upgraded life-support capabilities to accommodate longer missions. These enhancements make it an ideal choice for high-stakes operations, providing both reliability and versatility in challenging environments.
