SSB AUCTION - MANDALTECH, KOENSAYR, AND DURASTEEL TRADING

Nyos saw the chauvinist bet again, putting up another 125 thousand in Nyos' bet. He wasn't impressed by a pretty-boy in women's clothing.
Nyos raised his metal hand, clad in his Protectorate military uniform, holding his datapad, scrolling through the galactic news.

Yet another wanna-be soldier who thinks he can dance, was the only thought that went through Ket's mind as he finally turned to look at the person bidding against him for the sword. Still, he was sure his outfit gave off the vibe of just another stuffed-shirt full of hot air. Exactly what he was going for, though the lady next to him seemed to be quite enamoured by him. Ladies love the suit, or so it always seemed to be the case. Either way, he set his datapad down a moment, and sipped his durasteel-lined thermo-cup of piping hot macchiato. He smiled briefly as he savored the flavor as his hand rose once more.

"Six hundred and eighty thousand credits for the sword."

The opposite bidder wanted to continue to go toe to toe with Nyos. The cyborg flexed under his dress uniform, bring it. He looked up from his latest news story at the sword, contemplated his next move.

"It would look quite nice over my desk. How's about 900K and One Personal Production Item along with 1 year of free maintenance."

Marek shrugged. People were bidding against him now. Fun. And then Selka, of Silk was looking st the ship. He did a little bit of math in his head. 25k for the scroll and ship each. Just for a matter of competition. The ship would be fun to have. But the scroll he really wanted.

"Too rich for me, Master." Marek whispered to Ket. Then he turned to his own bids "25k for the ship, 25k for the scroll."

Being able to listen to everyone would be smart.

Mrrew chimed in from the back of the rooma fter reading through a little brochure about the various auction items. The sword looked interesting, bhut his own Phrik blade was good enough. The rifles could be even better then his harpy rifle, however... He decided to bid on that. The Togorian raised a large hand, waving at the auctioneer.

"Ten thousand credits!"

Aynea giggled under her breath in amusement upon entering the auction hall. As usual, people were bidding insane stocks of wealth like madmen at otherwise just-above-average items. Since when did an alchemical sword cost more than a star destroyer? She wondered. Sighing and taking a seat, it was time she got to work.
"Thirty thousand on the Scroll, and design specs and licensing for RRDI's upcoming elite fighter for the Book of the Sith."
The words almost rolled off apathetically.
Circe would probably not approve... but Circe wasn't there, then.

"Forty thousand on the Theran Force Listening Scroll, plus my services as an emergency evacuation for any one sentient of choice including all necessary medical and or mental doctoring to keep the chosen person alive and well." I put my hand up and try to stave off the lump in my throat.

To get my hands on that scroll. . . it would be the beginning of a shift in my abilities, a key technique and I want it. Leaning back, I look to the high roller sitting beside me. "How do you stay so cool, eh?" [member="Ket Van-Derveld"].

I smiled for handing the man the 10 credit entry fee. Moving straight to the auctions, I decided on what I wanted. Maybe something small. And.... I found it. A very fine Sithsword. Only, someone wanted it for well over what it was worth. Um no. Not taking that in. I looked around some more. Finding some things like.... panties? what the hell. This was an auction. And apparently this action was over panties that had probably not been used by the woman, and would only be bought by perverted minds. Instead I found something cheep that would help with my situation. Smiling I indicated for the Solder group that I wanted to bid for.

"I'll put five grand for the group. And a service of a favor for the owners of the group."

Fifty thousand was as high as Aynea was willing to go for the scroll, as she'd invested some hundred million credits into a special, secret starship already and had now been spending more than was coming in. She already had copies of scrolls few even knew existed, arts that none had the privilege of learning. There wasn't much further she could push things before crumbling.
"Fifty thousand, plus an escorted evac for one dropship's worth or one ACM orbital bombardment against a force not allied to Crystalsong."

Really? People were going after the scroll? It'd be one thing if they were allies, but he didn't know half the people going after it. Sure, he wanted to know the blonde. Maybe trade it for a date. After he used it.

"Seventy five for the scroll."

Finally, some opposition. She shot Starchaser a glance that she hoped was inscrutable, and decided to up her bid by the same amount. A hundred thousand might be her cap for this, but all depended on how high Starchaser was willing to push it. She had no desire to pull a bankruptcy fakeout on a fellow Tionese.

"Thirty thousand on the mystery ship."

It really was all in good fun, wasn't it? Marek knew that they weren't dealing with bank breaking amounts, and for him, it was just to give a little jolt to [member="Selka Ventus"] more than anything. She took his? Well, unlike Ket and that whole crew who were running their pockets dry, he knew that the Tionese had big plans. Maybe just a little more? "Let's go for 35 thousand on that mystery ship. I'll even throw in a test drive to Miss. Ventus there." He looked over at her and nodded. It was clear that was his final bid on that piece. He wanted the scroll more than the ship. He'd just have the Tionese build him something custom some day.

[member="Marek Starchaser"] got a raised eyebrow, half a smile, and half a nod, in that order. They were, at a guess, two of the wealthiest people in the room, and that was saying something. Other people could break the bank by paying capital-ship-grade sums for trinkets. Selka and Marek were content to be reasonable.

"Forty thousand for the mystery ship, and a better test drive for Mr. Starchaser."

Nolan arrived late to the auction, not surprising, but he quickly scanned the items for bid and his eyes stuck to the Book of the Sith, possibly a learning took for him to understand his powers.

He yelled loudly at the auctioneer, "100K and one Crate of Circe Green Ale."

...he'd come to the auction late but he wasn't sure if he'd missed his chance seeing as how the cessation of bids hadn't been called yet. Navigating through the crowds as he came closer he'd scan the room before calling out..."Seventy-eight thousand credits for the scroll!"...it was an enormous bid for Aethan though it wouldn't break his bank. Of course he couldn't go much higher than that. If he won he planned to put the scroll in his own private collection, perhaps he'd dabble at making copies of it but regardless he would enjoy it....

Aynea retained her bids. A collective of ACM missiles was worth severalfold the current going price for the scroll, and she was content with the standings of all of her other bids. Credits weren't everything in life.

Some men would step into an auction and try to bid on everything at the last moment, snatching everything away without even considering any other options. Ovmar wasn’t this type of man, instead he bid on a simple thing.

The Book of the Sith.

Knowledge… was everything that mattered.

'1 million credits for the Book of the Sith and a personal favor from me.'

Marek looked over at[member="Selka Ventus"] with a grin. A better test drive? He could live with that. Giving her a nod and a wink he let that bid stay. But the other one. He really didn't want to go too high with his bid on the scroll.

"100k for the scroll." It was going for a good cause. His.
