"Not much beyond the usual," if he meant in regards to the company and the green energy campaign they've both been working on. Now if he meant more personal, well there was plenty. But things had their time and place. For the moment, her attention was on the little blue-speckled man who came rushing back to her.
“Should I cover my eyes?” she’d ask first to Makai, giving perhaps a bit more of an exaggerated reaction required. The squirt gave a giggle, but then presented the slender carved box out to Danger.
“oh…” shock and surprise would wash across her face, her fingers lightly tracing the carved wood. “Oh this is beautiful Makai.” she’d say, and there was no denying the genuineness of that. The ribbon would be giving a slight tug, giving easily as it slipped through and over her fingers.
“There’s more?” she’d ask, delight along with a growing grin. At least until her thumbs carefully slid the box open.
“Oh my word…” was her soft hush of a whisper, and her right hand came to cover her mouth as she gave a slight gasp.
“Oh sweetie... “ hot pinpricks tickled her eyes, and her vision blurred a bit. He had picked it out himself. That was the bestest LifeDay present anyone could ever give her.
“Come ‘mere you!” Danger would say, reaching to grab Makai into a tight hug. “Thank you so much, It’s beautiful.”
