SSB 24HR Auction - AEL, The Last Ever Sold Edition!

Mrrew glanced at [member="Nickolas Imura"], and punched some more numbers into hisbidding console.

500,000 thousand for the five pairs of bracers

Leviothon Bracers - 500,000
Duster - 500,000
Trench knife - 4,000
Trade Nexus Property - 200,000 and a coupon for the free capture (and training if the customer likes) of any beast in the galaxy.
Freighter - 400,000

Eyebrow raised at the young woman's bid. She was at the last auction. An associate of ATC? Judah wasn't so sure. All he knew was her name was [member="Saffron"] and she seemed to like to bid on things. Probably a young debutante from some small collection of systems. Great-granddaddy made a fortune off Tibanna gas or something probably.

"410,000 for the Freighter, a custom item for [member="Rave Merrill"] and a two-bedroom villa at an under construction resort."

Blacktail

Captain of the Lost Dynast
Aavon arrived a little late, but fashionably so. Even still, it was clear to him from the moment he walked through the doors that he wasn't going to go home happy. Ever since his major (alcohol-induced) loss betting at the Reek Races, he'd entered retirement with what earning he had left from a career of naval service. He was then dragged out of said retirement and shortly thereafter stationed to defend some remote planet on the edge of the galaxy. The woman weren't great there, but the scenery was stunning - but anyway. As usual, everyone was bidding like a tibanna tycoon or drug lord; some probably were. At least this auction gave everyone an excuse for spending exorbitant, wasteful loads of credits, since AEL products were never cheap to begin with. The captain wasn't going to win anything at this rate.

===== ===== =====
Trench Knife - 5,000
Freighter - 500,000

Mrrew growled under his breath, annoyed. Did he really want the ship? He liked his old ship... The Togorian sighed. Most of the hthings he liked from AEL's old catalogue he already owned, with the exception of the bracercs and trench knife... He'd focus his credits on those. So, with slight aprehension, Mrrew closed his bid on the freighter.

"600,000 credits for the bracers,,, 6,000 for the knife."

Leviothon Bracers - 600,000
Duster - 500,000
Trench knife - 6,000
Trade Nexus Property - 200,000 and a coupon for the free capture (and training if the customer likes) of any beast in the galaxy.

Working with [member="Mrrew"] was proving to be fun. Construction at Makeb was finished. They were finishing loading animals and awaiting the grand opening. Soon, galaxy soon. Really soon, actually.

Watching the bids, Marek raised his hand for 300k to the Wardend Cloak. Why not right? Last time it'd be for sale. And if he didn't get it, he'd have Rave make him something personal.

But then there was [member="Judah Dashiell"]. A resort, huh? Marek made to send an inquiry on how to contact the salvager. Business and networking.

Hard knock life.

Mrrew narrowed his eyes in [member="Nickolas Imura"]'s direction. He definitely wanted those bracers. Well, actually, he wanted one of the pairs of bracers. He didn't patuclarly care to have all five... Maybe if he won them he'd just give a pair to the other guy- would make things easier. if he won them.

Leviothon Bracers - 750,000 credits and a coupon for 50% off one order at the Beast Hunter's Guild
Duster - 500,000
Trench knife - 6,000
Trade Nexus Property - 200,000 and a coupon for the free capture (and training if the customer likes) of any beast in the galaxy.

Mrrew sighed.

"850 thousand and the coupon for the bracers!"

And where were the spiders
Marek was watching the whole auction. This was exciting. What he wished he had was an ottoman and some snacks. So many people bidding. And so many of them just bidding. Why not send droids to do to at least?

At least then someone could hack them.

Mrrew waded through the crowd towards the other ma bidding on the bracers. This was getting ridiculous- a million for them? He would gladly pay that, of course, but it would be a lot easier if he didn't have to... The Togorian tapped [member="Nickolas Imura"] on the shoulder, and spoke in a quieted voice. "I'm only interested in two pairs. I'll give you the rest after I purchase them, free of charge." It would be cheaper then continuing this bidding war, at least...

Back room deals. Marek figured that [member="Mrrew"] could eat the other guy. And take his wallet. And lunch money.

Though that would probably call Dark Water security in. And that would get messy. Besides, was the SpyNet watching him?

[member="Raziel"]

Mrrew nodded to [member="Nickolas Imura"], and wandered back to teh back of the room with his bidding console. It looked like he'd get the things he wanted, now... Now he just had to wait.

([member="Marek Starchaser"] - Lmao, that made me laugh in real life.)

Judah liked coming to auctions because a droid couldn't think like he could. Well, some could. Those tended to creep him out just a little so the salvager tended to ignore those in his life. Sitting back in the comfortable chairs, it was clear this auction was for those with credits to blow. Often these were the most fun for himself. Although a man seemed to look at him when he mentioned the villa up as a piece of the pie for the Freighter.

Judah just gave a curt nod. SSB Auctions were like networking events for CEOs of the galaxy and no doubt the man owned something of note.

Droids couldn’t think. They could only do what they were ordered to do, and… like… get hacked. But people? People could be threatened, or they could be coerced, or they could help make a CEO a lot of money. Looking at [member="Judah Dashiell"], Marek nodded. Speak to that man. Getting up from his seat, and checking the current bids, he nodded. “Got a moment?” Hushed tones, obviously, but why not double check.

And make sure that he found who was watching him.

"Actually, hold that thought." Just to mess with the Sith. "500K for Warden cloak, and ... I dunno, a lease of a states room at one of my casino resorts, of your choice for life." Sure. Really, the competition needed some pizzazz.

"Right, you're in the resort business?" Back to whispered tones.
