SOLSTICE OF THE MANDO’ADE
2026

Outwards looking in, most of the galaxy has always typecasted the Mandalorian people as bloodthirsty savages, cruel, uncaring, and insatiable in their lust for battle. In truth, the Mando’ade have always been united principally by family and honor; defined by their undying loyalty towards kin and acceptance of all those who swear by their creed as such.

The Solstice of the Mando’ade was first celebrated in the wake of the Genocide of Mandalore, when the clans were scattered and disparate, Manda’yaim herself was razed, and billions were dead. For most, their only comfort was ghosts; but the Solstice united vode scattered across the stars in rites of pilgrimage and remembrance to celebrate Mandalorian culture and strengthen the bonds that tie together family, clan, and vode.

The Iron Covenant, recently having expelled the Sith from a surprise attack on Abregado-Rae, has been welcomed as benevolent allies by the native Gado population. Many Mandalorians of all different backgrounds are united under the Iron Covenant’s banner; Neo-Crusaders, Kestri Clans, and ranks of vode who do not forget. Only in its beginning stages, their crusade of vengeance against the Sith has cost them, but a Mandalorian does not fear death, only cowardice and dishonor. Their spirits undampened by the trials behind or ahead, Abregado-Rae has transformed into the heart of Solstice celebrations.

In a dazzling display symbolic of Mandalorian unity across the stars, Vormur flowers from the Mandalorian sector provided by Neo-Crusaders and Stibaa’vormur flowers transported to Kestri have beautified the world, setting the tone for the massive feasts, hunts, and tournaments.

Galleries of Stibaa’vormur flowers from Kestri and Vormur flowers from the Mandalorian sector decorate the streets of Abregado-Rae in beautiful bouquets of whites speckled with blues and reds. The resort city of Le Yer is the center of festivities, where the native Gados have welcomed the Mandalorians as friends.

No Solstice of the Mando’ade has been counted without tournaments and contests proving strength and valor, emblematic Mandalorian ideals. The Kyr’amuliik sponsor a joust of Rancors. A hammer-swinging contest for those who wish to test their strength against the likes of Kjartan Hammer-Hand Kjartan Hammer-Hand and Romul Saxon Romul Saxon . And the Ha’rangir’s Chosen lead a hunt in the Gush, hunting a terrible Darkghast that terrorizes the native Gados; in other words, worthy prey.

The passing on of kin and vode is mourned, but their lives and legacies are celebrated. Many Mandalorians use the Solstice to walk the pilgrim’s path through Tor Valum, where the history of the Mando’ade is memorialized, or visit one of the many memorials on Kestri and abroad to honor their ancestors.
