COMBAT INFORMATION
- Availability: Unique
- Deployment: Limited
- Strengths & Weaknesses:
Advanced Fighters: The squadron's TIE-S "Subjugator"s are top-of-the-line, specifically made to be handled by trained Sith pilots and filled with the latest sensor, communication, and weapon technology available to the New Sith Empire. - Air Support & Troop Reinforcement: Not just restricted to deep space dogfighting, Skull Squadron can also fulfill atmospheric duties as well as protecting and reinforcing ground troops. It achieves this thanks to the addition of two MAAC/iv transports filling up the positions of Skull Eleven and Skull Twelve, but in doing so decreases the overall fighter count of the squadron from twelve to ten.
- Sith Pilots: The addition of the pilot's Force sensitivity allows them to react much quicker than the average pilot, and allows seamless coordination through the Dark Side of the Force between pilots.
- No Hyperdrive: To make room for all the advanced weaponry and systems, the starfighters are bereft of a hyperdrive. This means that the squadron can only be deployed from the hangar of a warship, and if stranded in deep space has to travel long distances manually.
- Expensive to Replace: Both the starfighters and their pilots are very expensive and time consuming to replace, with the latter requiring months of training in both piloting and in the Force to become an effective pilot alongside the others. To somewhat alleviate this, Carnifex has about thirty or so trained pilots at any given time in reserve, but the monumental cost of replacing one of the Subjugators is still a taxing drawback.
- Speciality Pilots: While all of the pilots of Skull Squadron may be adequate Sith, they all (with the exception of Carnifex) have purposefully laxed in their combat skills in lieu of becoming excellent starfighter pilots. While this makes them deadly warriors behind the throttle of their Subjugators, they are woefully underwhelming outside of them.
[*]Description:
Ever since Skull Squadron had served the Fels despite their earlier lapse in loyalty, but the resurgence of the One Sith nearly seven hundred years later found Skull Squadron bowing to a new Lord and Master.
Darth Vornskr, Voice of the Dark Lord and infamous Butcher King, had sought out a starfighter squadron of his own in the battle against the Republic. So he weeded out the best of the best and ultimately set his sights on Skull Squadron, but the Sith Lord's brutal tactics and unrelenting style of attack left most of the original Skull Squadron roster dead or permanently crippled. Disgusted by the weakness of these 'elite' pilots, Vornskr reformed Skull Squadron as an all Sith fighter squadron empowered by the Dark Side of the Force. Vornskr led this new Skull Squadron to victory after victory in the Great War, becoming the bane of many Republic pilots and fleet officers as he cut a swath of terror and suffering through their ranks.
When the One Sith Empire fell, so too did Skull Squadron. However, it would not remained disbanded for long. With the advent of the New Sith Empire at Bastion, the re-christened Darth Carnifex, now Dark Lord of the Sith, reformed his personal starfighter squadron with new state-of-the-art vessels to be piloted by a new generation of loyal and capable Sith.
