Silver Salutations [SJO]

Res'uul enjoyed gatherings like this quite a bit. It wasn't often that so many people were so accepting of his kind. There was xenophobia, perhaps you could call it humanocentrism, in a sense, all over the galaxy, but in the worlds not dominated by humans, things were a little bit easier to understand for a person of a different race. He continued to sip his drink, not being a man to drink often, and so he also did not want to overindulge himself and ruin the fun for everyone else. Granted, they'd probably just lead him somewhere to lie down, let him recover. But, he didn't want to have them do that. So, he continued on, taking everything with a gentle stride.

He actually felt welcome here, among the people who were so quick to greet him and make conversation. Perhaps it was partially due to the fact that there weren't many Sith Pureblood on Kashyyyk, if any at all. That certainly helped the conversations flow smoother. He had watched the earlier duel with an eager interest, as it wasn't something he had gotten to see before. and he wondered if there would be a time when he would get to do something similar.

Everything seemed fine again as she got Narcissa and Kurenai to (sort of) apologize and cease hostilities for a moment.

That was until it came time grab a slice of pie.

For whatever reason, the strange Echani felt possessed to flick Charlie on the ear at random. She knew her padawan well enough to know how she would react, especially as she was already agitated from previous encounters earlier at the event. She could predict a response but was too slow to intervene before Charlie had her chance unloaded on Narcissa.

Verbally, and then physically as Charlie smashed her pie into the Echani's chest.

Jyoti frowned but made no motion to stop or follow Charlie as she fled the scene with a whole pie in hand. For now, it was just best to let her cool off on her own and indulge in some stress eating. She would catch up with her later.

She let out a soft sigh as she looked on Narcissa. She probably did deserve some pie in the face, but Charlie could have handled that better.

"Apologies for my apprentice, but in her defense, it was rude of you to strike her earlier. I don't know your motivation to do so, but I recommend that you not engage in such behavior here moving forward."

She left Narcissa alone with her new coat of pie to reflect on actions while she looked around. The Sith Pureblood seemed to be on his own again. Still curious, she approached him for a new round of conversation. Off in the corner of her vision, she could see Josh still sparring with Draven for whatever reason, but she tried not to think about it too much.

"So, have you tried my meatballs?"

Draven had not expected the speed from the larger man, and his mind screamed as he felt the saber slash home into his side. If this had been a real duel, the blow would have been serious, but not fatal, luckily this was not the case and Draven was left with only a nasty mark. The moment the knight had felt the saber land home, he knew what would follow. He had trained enough, fought others enough, and sparred enough, to know the kind of blow which usually followed that up. Draven predicted the back slash, and using force speed, leapt into a backflip, pushing off the ground with a blast of force, and landing firmly on both boots a few feet away, gasping for breath, and his side screaming with pain. The short jedi ignored this, and swung his saber back and forth, a grin breaking through the grim expression as he said, "All ya got, jolly green giant?" Beckoning him on in the same way which he had done, mocking him.

"I have not gotten the chance yet, although I am sure they are delicious. I was actually about to try them." The Sith Pureblood offered what little he could of a smile, not quite used to interacting with others just yet. Even on the shuttle to Kashyyyk, the only person he talked to was the one sat next to him on why he was traveling to the planet. Business, of course, the man said, and that was that. He saw no reason to question the man further. He was sure he looked mysterious with his cloak all draped around himself, as he had no idea what to expect of the planet's weather.

One strike hit it's mark but Josh wasn't done yet. Draven would finally use a bit of defense, to Josh's delight as he would backflip away from it using Force Speed himself. Now... Now Josh could up the ante. His eyes glimmered in delight and excitement as he decided to speed his own movements, holding back less as he would match Force Speed for Force Speed, offense for offense. His blade clashed with Draven's own at every turn as he would turn to his signature form - Makashi, and mixing it with a bit of Ataru.

Josh would immediately follow his last series of slashes with a cartwheel aided by Force Throw, his lightsaber leaving his hand and spinning around him at blinding speeds while he used the cartwheel to evade a slash, and once it landed in his hand he would strike with a vertical slash in turn. Whether it hit or not, Josh would jump back, going for a horizontal slash - but it turned out to be a feint. Josh would kick his feet off the ground and use the Force to aid his leap, backflipping back as he switched to full on Ataru, with shocking speed for a man his size. His feet would hit the barrier and he would kick off it to charge at Draven with full speed as he would go for a torso slash in the air. Hit, miss or block, he would slide upon landing and leap up again, using the same technique again and again while varying the direction of his slashes everytime. Over and over, he seemed to bounce off the floor, off the barrier, and use differently directioned slashes to strike at Draven from every direction, every point. This was part of the teaching process... He wanted to force Draven to go on the defensive.

To everyone around them, the two would be like a blur. The both of them were using Force Speed, augmenting the speed that their bodies could move and handle dramatically. Within the barrier, the two Jedi Guardians struck blow after blow like a pair of gladiators.

Within the barrier, Josh was enjoying himself. The intensity of the battle was heaven for a warrior like him. He no longer spoke, did not respond to his taunts... Only focused on the battle at hand.
