As the self-proclaimed Sith'ari Darth Carnifex began to put his grand ambitions into motion, he required vessels worthy enough to serve as the vanguard for his sinister forces across the galaxy. To this end, he engineered the construction of Silooth-class Planetary Invasion Cruisers, vessels designed to facilitate the disembarkation of Kainate soldiers onto a planet's surface and dig in deep.
The Silooths were designed like inverted pyramids, with the apex point pointed down so that when the Silooth made landfall it could burrow into the planet's soil and embed itself deep. Troops and vehicles could then be funneled up to the surface through lifts, while the Silooth itself remained buried underground and was rendered extremely difficult to dislodge or destroy.
But that was not the only purpose of the Silooth. Inside the Silooth was a complex filled with dozens of Derriphanqyâsik crystals, artificially created technology that could sap the Living Force from the environment and the creatures living within it. The Silooth would gradually drain the very Force from the land around it and absorb it into these Derriphanqyâsik. These crystals were gathered together and focused through specialized systems to project their effects outward from the ship rather than inside the ship, their upkeep maintained by a dedicated sect of New Sith who routinely imbue the crystals with the Dark Side of the Force to keep them functional.
The power of the crystals would start to affect the wildlife first, trees and foliage would wither and die before the native animals began to follow suit. The planet's inhabitants would begin to dwindle as well, growing weaker under the subjugation of the Kainate's occupation force.
The Kainate used a combination of conventional armored soldiers and Sithspawn known as Derriphan to oppress the inhabitants of the worlds they invade. Derriphans consumed the thoughts and experiences of living beings and reduced them to empty shells. Those who were not consumed by the Derriphanqyâsik crystals were gathered up and made into slaves for the Kainate.
The Silooth possessed little in the way of weaponry and was defended only by a smattering of point-defense laser cannons, with its armor and shield systems being the most prudent form of protection. Powerful engines propelled the Silooth through empty space and planetary atmospheres, the Silooth being highly maneuverable for a ship of its size. It also maintained no hangar bays and was entirely reliant on external docking appendages for movement on and off the ship. To push through planetary shields, the Silooth was outfitted with advanced field disruptor generators at the lowest point which would connect with the surface of a planetary shield and disrupt it long enough for the whole ship to slip through.
