Sibling Rivalry

[member="Elpsis Elaris"] | Location : Csilla , local spaceport

Hands shoved into his pockets, trying not to freeze to death despite the layers of clothing he always seemed to wear. In true 'big sister' fashion, one Elpsis Elaris had figured out where he was hiding out at. Probably wasn't hard considering the woman was direct enough to merely ask his father for the exact location. A message from Elpsis made it clear she was coming out to see him no matter what.

No sense in arguing.

Keen iced azure eyes suddenly spotted her. A bit easy to see different colors and species against the majority of Chiss in the area. Makai lay in wait, watching as the young woman moved closer. Being blind, Makai suspected Elpsis had already 'spotted' him using the auras or Force or whatever she did to navigate.Once she was close enough, Makai sprung his trap.

Arms went around the young woman in a huge bear hug. He lifted her off the ground a little doing so, mainly to annoy the girl he liked to consider a older sibling. Setting her back on the ground, Makai took her bag like any true gentleman would.

"Elpy, how's it going sis?" Shoulder bumped into hers, teasing. "Where's that girl of yours? The dark skinned one? Kind of scared me but she seemed nice....What was her name?....Tess? No...Teagan? No thats not right.....Tempest? Yes. Tempest. Did she come along?"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

Elpsis came in a tramp freighter that looked like it was held together by spit, duct tape and everything glue. She'd won the ship way back in a Pazaak game where she'd almost certainly cheated. That had been during her less respectable days.

She still insisted on flying it, even though this annoyed Auntie Sio to no end. Maybe also because. Anyhow, the spaceport was filled with a multitude of Chiss. It was also karking cold. Like, seriously, why the hell had the Creator willed that Csilla be so freaking icy?!

"Great White Wolf, I know everything in, well, Creation has its place. But could the Creator not have made this ice ball a little warmer? Like, c'mon. I'm freezing my tits off," she muttered to herself. She wore thick layers of clothing and was drawing on her pyromancy to keep herself warm, but it was still cold.

Anyhow, she'd endure the crappy weather. For some unfathomable reason Makai had decided to migrate her. Silly maleling! So it was her duty to come visit and relentlessly annoy him. It did not take her long to find him. Before she could do anything, he'd hugged her and picked her up.

That was sweet and mildly annoying. She regained her bearings once she had firm ground planted beneath her feet. "Hey, lil bro. Missed me, huh?" she coloured slightly. Her relationship status with the Dahomian was somewhat complicated. Especially since a certain [member="Taryc Ap'Irae"] had come into her life. Relationships and Elpsis were complicated in general.

"Uh, no Tempest isn't here. Things have changed for us a bit," she said awkwardly, but then brightened "Anyway, she's been busy with some Firemane stuff. Blew up some huge evil robot that wouldn't shut up." What was its name again? Something cheesy, named after a gem. "But she told me to say hi to you. So does Auntie Tegs." She elbowed him lightly in a playful manner. "Look at you, grown up and stuff. Why the feth are you on this ice rock? What's up with Ellie?"

[member="Elpsis Elaris"]

"Of course I missed you. Why wouldn't I?"

Makai listened to the story of Tempest, apparently fighting some robot and his big sister. He wasn't sure if to go 'brother' route and threaten the other woman or get the full story. Judging by the blushing it was probably best to get more information.

"Look at me? How can you? I knew you weren't really blind. You're probably faking it to get dates."

Elpsis was straight out of the gate with questions. Of course she had touch on [member="Myra Elspeth"] .Makai thought it best to go with the easier question first about being on Csilla. A bit difficult to explain but it wasn't as complicated as his relationship with one skinny brown haired girl.

"I'm on Csilla because I joined the Iron Empire's Navy. Crazy, I know." There was a long pause. "In the words of a friend of mine, I'm here to find the 'Makky way of doing things'. You probably can't relate but there's a lot of expectations due to my name. Some good, some bad. I was lost, I wasn't sure what to do. I could already tell I was going to drop out of school. I spent more time salvaging or surfing than anything else."

Their feet crunched in the snow, the pair moving onto the sidewalk for a short trip. Well, it felt like an eternity in the cold.

"I got in a huge fight with Ellie, it was bad. After that I left Dac, did some work for Dad's friends, spent some time on Tatooine. I realized I needed to kick myself in my own ass and grow up. So I did."

Makai left his story there, clearly more to share but unwilling to do so at the moment.

"Whats my favorite sister been up to?"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

Snow crunched beneath Elpsis' boots. Due to the low temperature, her breath frosted around her. Feth, it was cold. She could use a warm, female body with plenty of curves to warm her up. Like right about now...well...obviously not in the cold! That would be a bad idea.

For the most part, she listened. When Makai brought up his girl troubles, she frowned. On the one hand she was an ultrafeminist amazon who was all about girl power and stuff. He was still her brother though and nice in general. Even though he now lived on an ice ball.

Must have been a really bad fight to drive him here! "Sorry about Ellie. You're a good guy. But if it gave you the push to do something with your life, maybe there's a good side to it. Everything happens for a reason. Hope that you two get on again nonetheless," she said softly.

"Me, I travelled a bunch. Went places, beat up bad guys or healed folks in need. Got laid a lot," she grinned. "Bit hard to make your own way when your mum's a master healer and your aunties are heroes and run a megacorp. I help Auntie Sio and Auntie Tegs look after their little ones sometimes," she shrugged. Part of her was worried about not living up to expectations.

"Never pegged you for the military type. So whaddaya do exactly? Got to fly anything yet?" She didn't have much experience with the IE. Far as she knew, their leader used to be an OS General, which made her wary. By and large, they seemed alright though. Once you got past their obsession with ice planets.

Makai nodded at the mention of getting a push in the form of Ellie. It probably wasn't the push Ellie preferred. It was a bit of a jerk move but he didn't even say goodbye to her in person. Would have been too hard, too easy to decide to stay. Makai could never stand to see his best friend cry - tore him up even when they were little kids growing up together.

"Traveled and got laid?" Makai couldn't help but laugh. "I guess that sounds like the life. Except for watching younglings. I can't picture you being a baby sitter. Like a kid hanging off each leg? Dragging 'em around? You can still make your own way. Come out and hang with me on this frozen ice ball. I guarantee no one will know who you are. Make a name for yourself with the Chiss ladies."

Makai grinned before getting serious.

"Maybe you need to kick yourself in your own ass. Or I can do it for you. Literally and figuratively."

He was just offering brotherly love! Who else would be bold enough to kick the backside of one [member="Elpsis Elaris"]? Certainly not anyone who valued their foot and their life. Makai was a bit worried his older sister was having the same doubts he did. It was hard, being from a family with a name and reputation. Perhaps its why kids like them tended to band together.

"Yeah, I'm not the military type. Not my style at all. Convinced myself I wanted something different. Ice ball planet certainly is different, isn't it? As for what I do, bomber pilot. Haven't been in any fights yet. Did some escort work though.Signed up for a short term of service, then I will go from there, see how I'm faring."

It wasn't long now before they reached his place. Not a moment too soon either. Makai had plans to take Elpy out either bar hopping or dinner but they would have to defrost a bit first.A cold turbolift ride up and they were there, the door opening. Makai set down Elpy's bag just inside and flipped on the lights for his sake. The one noticeable difference : the heat was blasting. It may have been the tropics compared to outside.

"I figured you can save some credits, stay in my room."

Crashing on the couch for a couple days was fine with him. The apartment was sparse to say the least. His couch, the coffee table, a holovision with his gaming system set up, and his bed were the only real pieces of furniture to speak of. At least Elpy wouldn't have to worry about bumping into anything.

"You cold? I can give you one of my jackets before we head out. Figured if you're traveling I might as well take you out to get laid, right?"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

"You'd like that, wouldn't you? It's an amazing arse. All my girls agree," Elpsis said playfully. "But yeah, maybe I do. Don't wanna disappointment the family, but yeah," she trailed off. With Auntie Sio out of commission for the time being, perhaps she should get more involved with the Order of Fire and Firemane.

She did not know. "And for the record, I've done a lot of babysitting. I'm good with little ones. Empathy helps with babies. And I help out in an orphanage sometimes," she said seriously. Apparently Makai was a bomber pilot now. That was unexpected! Elpsis did not know that the boy's parents had been pilots way back.

Finally they reached his apartment. Yay, it was warm inside here! Compared to the icy hell outside, it was like being in the tropics. Elpsis eagerly soaked up the heat and the snow that had nested on her thick furcoat began to melt.

"Oh, that's real nice of you, little bro," she said happily when he mentioned she could crash her. One might figure that the niece of Tegs and Sio might have more extravagent tastes, but Elpsis lived humbly, when she was not crashing at her aunties' place. Or servicing a certain Eldorai Countess. Who technically was five times her age and had welcomed the redhead into her harem. But her own apartment was simple and she still used the same tramp freighter.

"I'm ok. Just gotta heat up a bit." Taking off her coat, she began to do just that. Heat surged through her hands, causing bright light to emit from her palms, and it began to warm up as she gently poured her power into the coat.

"Bright side, if power goes out because of a storm and what not, we can cook without an oven." Pyromancy had practical applications that extended beyond burning people alive. It also looked cool at parties.

She smirked. "I'm sooo done for down for enjoying a few Chiss beauties. Haven't had any yet. It would be criminal not to show them a good time. You know any cute pilot birds? Older ones." Elpsis was so not the person to date if you considered monogamy important. She neither liked nor understood the concept. But she could give you mindgasms!

Her expression turned a bit more serious. "Have the IE folks been treating you decently? Made any friends?" Being a big sister, it was her job to ask these questions. When she was not annoying or embarrassing him. Hopefully she would not try to bed one of his superiors.

[member="Elpsis Elaris"]

Makai was more than surprised Elpsis helped out at an orphanage frequently. Eyebrow raised in the direction of the other woman, curious about something. Being their relationship was considerably open in terms of questions and frankness, Makai couldn't help but ask.

"Got the mothering itch? You're not going to make me an Uncle anytime soon I hope."

He had to admit 'Uncle Makai' or 'Uncle Makky' had a ring to it. Of course he'd be the cool Uncle that taught the younglings how to surf and the finer points of fishing. Who wouldn't want to weaponize a youngster and teach them how to spearfish? What could possibly go wrong!

Ice crystals were slowly melting from his dark hair as they warmed up before their next adventure. Eyes caught the storm kicking up, snow was coming down thick waves, the wind beginning to increase. It was all another day on Csilla for most, nearly anywhere Elpy wanted to go should be open. The locals were crazy in his opinion. It took a metric ton of snow and ice to actually bring the area to a standstill.

"You can cook a frozen pizza with your powers? Handy."

Iced azure eyes watched her play with whatever the Force ability was called. Nifty, something he could use to keep his hands warm on a daily basis on the planet.

"Uh....I can't say I've been going around asking where all the lesbians are at. Don't you have a built in radar for this type of thing? How else to you pick 'em out of a crowd?I guess I can search for somewhere to go, hold on..."

Comm was fished from his pocket as he began to search for places a little more suited to his sister's goal for the night. He had only been to the basic bars with much of his squadron - well, typically the male members of his squadron. They weren't quite in the same category or were they? Similar goals for sure.

"Uh, I guess they've been treating me alright. Can't complain too much." Shoulders shrugged. "Maybe, no friends like I have back home though. Probably just a little homesick though, doesn't help."

"How's Lacey?"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

The lighthearted question made Elpsis feel a bit awkward. "Uh, maybe some day. Not for a long time though. Raising kids requires settling down and stuff. I guess Sio'd like that." She was good at taking care of other people's kids, but raising her own was something else entirely. It sounded like responsibility.

Outside, the wind howled loudly and snow fell from the heavens in droves. A storm was coming. That icy queen Kaida Taldir would have liked this planet. Elpsis had never liked her. Little bro's comments about her fire powers made her smirk.

"No worries about picking the hot, blue lesbians out. My gaydar's very, very good." Was that even a thing? Who knows. Maybe Force Sight-based aura reading helped. As we all know, the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be...unnatural. Was it possible to learn this power? Given the amount of Paddy poking going on in the average enclave, you might even be able to learn it from a Jedi.

"Lacey's the raptor. That's Galina's. She's fine though. Leo's the Cylix. He's mine. Love the big guy. Didn't take him with me because a frozen ice ball so isn't his type of planet." Having finished heating up her coat, she approached Makai

"And, bro, you gotta get out and live a little more. Homesickness will pass then," she slapped him on the shoulder. "Fortunately for you, Big Sis is here now to drag you out of your shell," she giggled slightly.

[SIZE=11pt]There was a small nod. Kids did seem like.a whole bunch of work. Then what if one got in the same situation as his parents? Certainly stuck with someone you hate for at least twenty years or so. He could easily see the hesitation of having ones own. At least the borrowed kids could be returned to their parents.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]“So that's a thing? Thought that was a type of myth? I mean, if it works for you then who am I to say otherwise?”[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Closing out his comm, Makai had already picked their first bar for the night, a local joint called the Lipstick Lounge. He chuckled a bit at the title when he had first saw it. If his sister’s ‘gaydar’ wasn’t working for the evening at least the location would help her narrow down potential dates for the night.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]“All I know is both were big and predators. I can't keep track of who has what dangerous pet.”[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Nothing compared to the Loth-cat he had. Or [member="Myra Elspeth"] had to be technical.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]“My shell? It's taken me a long time just to get just to get comfortable in my shell. Now you want me to just burst out of it?”[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Makai had just gotten used to his scales. Of course Elpsis didn't mean physical shell but still. He wasn’t the party type. There were enough rich kids who fell into the party and drug category to keep him out of it. Would it kill him to talk to more people? Probably not. Then again, it may be wise not to find out.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]“Come one, lets hit these icy cold streets again. Pray we don’t freeze to death before the first marker.”[/SIZE]

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

Ideally Elpsis would have learned a bit from her Auntie's experiences - and mistakes - if she decided to have kids one day. Auntie Siobhan had not had the best of luck with most of them! The redhead would also have to calm down a bit and become less wild and averse to responsibility.

Anyhow, there were other things on her mind now. "Yes, exactly. It's high time you burst out of it and explored the world beyond its confines," she declared authoritatively. "It wouldn't kill you to talk to a couple people, would it? At least those you're flying around with. Who knows, you may actually have fun."

Putting on her now very warm coat, she followed Makai out into the cold icy streets. Maybe it was just her impression, but it seemed to have gotten even colder in the short span of time they'd spent inside. The redhead shivered. Briefly taking Makai's hand, she focused on her powers. There was a slight tingle followed by a surge of heat when she injected some warmth into him.

"C'mon. Time for some fun." Fun for him or for her? She could be a little self-centred sometimes. "Speaking of flying, you're totally gonna show me your bomber." Bucket loads of snow fell from the sky. None of the Chiss seemed bothered by it. They'd probably be weirded out if placed in an environment that was not freezing cold.

[member="Elpsis Elaris"]

"Explore the world outside its confines? What the hell do you think I just did? Moved way from everything I know, landed on an icy hellhole on my own and started something different. Nothing about me screams military life Sis. I'm doing my best here."

Elpsis had been thinking in more broad, fun terms. Leave it to him to kill the meaning! Of course he had fun with his squad mates, didn't have much of a choice many days. Part of him was certain Big Sis was just wanting him to use his connections to find a hot pilot she could get to know better. Hopefully Elpsis would be wise and not use her horrific puns this evening.

Elpsis took his hand, Makai nearly locked fingers with the young woman. It was pure habit as he was used to doing so with Ellie most days. Not like he was busy holding girls hands on a regular basis! Awkward moment avoided,he shivered slightly despite the nifty power. Makai was a tropical fish after all.

"Of course.We can see the bomber. I thought getting you laid was the number one priority here? Keep your...er...eyes on the prize. Now isn't the time to get distracted. There's plenty of cold women out there that need this heat-power weird thing....and...your other tricks..."

Makai glanced at her.

"Save your lewd comments for your adoring fans."

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

Unfortunately for Makai, Elpsis was as persistent as a kath hound on a trail. So he could look forward to her nagging him even more about his life and how she should socialise more. Or even poke him about what had happened with Ellie.

She was quite determined, after all. Unless she was distracted...for she could be ooh-shinied quite easily. "Don't you worry about those cold, blue beauties. I'm a great multitasker. The best, actually. I can juggle various priorities just fine. And since I'm your big sister, you should listen to me," Elpsis declared. Whether this was true was another question.

"Now as I was saying...ooh, she looks nice," she trailed off in mid-sentence when her eyes fell upon a rather fetching, curvaceous exemplar of Chiss womanhood, who sauntered into the appropriately named Lipstick Lounge. Hip music could be heard coming from inside.

"Listen to you? A few years make you suddenly wiser?"

Makai had intentions to listen. Didn't mean he was exactly going follow through with any directions [member="Elpsis Elaris"] had planned on dispensing out for the evening. Besides, what advice was one going to dole out in a lounge full of ladies? While she claimed to be an excellent multi-tasker it only took one perky rack or shapely behind to get her distracted. Like a raccoon drawn to anything shiny. How she managed to leer without seeing was beyond him but if anyone could do it his big sister currently was.

Makai reached ahead, opening the door for the woman who had distracted Elpsis and his sister. He was just thankful warmth was pouring out of the building. The snow was falling thick and fast now, the wind blowing it across roadways and sidewalks. Every so often lights flickered.

Lyrics blasting from the speakers seemed awful appropriate for Elpsis' entry. Smirk played on his features, hand running through his hair.

"So how does this Force aura thing work? Is the Force telling you about all the great racks on display in here? Like a pinging radar system? You just move in closer from there until you strike a willing target? Or do you do the old 'accidental hand brush'. Thats more my signature move and I have eyesight."

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

Elpsis smirked. "I try that, sometimes. After all, my eyes sadly don't let me see the full perfection of their bodies, so I have...use other senses." Clearly she was not above exploiting her blindness when it suited her. Truly inappropriate.

Cheesy lyrics blasted from the speakers. The song seemed appropriate for her entrance. Most of the club's clientele were Chiss, but there were also some ladies who did not belong to the blueskinned race. Some were enjoying drinks, others were dancing and so on.

Elpsis' eyes wandered, taking in the scenery. However, it was one of the blue beauties in question who seized the initiative first. "Well, hey, gourgeous, I was going to ask if you wanted to mix some blue with your red, but now I see you brought a man along."

A blue hand ran over her back. The Chiss woman wore a pair of rather fetching red leather pants that hugged her arse nicely. "Hopefully he's just there here for encouragement and you're not just teasing us with what we can't have."

"Oh, don't worry about that, babe. He's...just my brother. I don't drive stick, if you catch my drift. I'm just here for the ladies and if I may say so, your aura is beautiful," Elpsis said sweetly...and most cornily.

The Chiss raised an eyebrow. "Auras? Do you use that line on all the girls?"

"Just the really pretty ones. I must warn you though, I can see through the Force, but it cannot show the full perfection of a woman's body. So I must rely on my other senses. If my hands wander a bit...I hope that's ok."

"That's what's up with your eyes, huh? Well, buy me a drink, red, and if you're lucky we might to the braille instructions on my clothes."

'Full perfection of their bodies'.

At this Makai rolled his eyes. He could already tell it was going to take great restraint to keep from laughing more of the evening. At the very least he would be entertained for the duration of his night. Seeing [member="Elpsis Elaris"] trying to pick up women was a sight to see. His sister was certainly playing up the blind thing for the ladies.

Sly.

"You kids have fun."

Makai gave a small wave and went to sit at a corner of the bar. Elpsis didn't need to be babysat by him. He figured near the end of the evening she'd roll back around with a woman or four and check in. Hand waved to the bartender, signaling for a drink down at his end.

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

"I will," Elpsis insisted eagerly. So they went to a seat and soon a waitress popped up. Sadly, they did not have a menu written in braille, but the Chiss girl just told Elpsis what to order. The drinks were strong.

"Hale'spi'retol," another Chiss woman suddenly interjected - just as Elpsis' foot was feeling up her prospective booty call's leg. She looked most disapproving. As a matter of fact, she looked disgusted. "Are you really letting this human feel you up? You dishonour yourself."

"She's more fun company than you. Now mind your own business," Spire retorted. "Ignore her," she spoke to Elpsis. "Now where were we. Right, you wanted to ask me out for a dance."

Elpsis looked like the proverbial deer caught in the headlight. "A dance? Uh, I mean sure...but..."

"Don't fret, red. All you gotta do is follow my lead. Everything else will come naturally," Spire declared and clinked their glasses together. She was probably enjoying the redhead's slight discomfort way too much.

Having seen [member="Elpsis Elaris"] off to get in trouble, Makai found himself stuck at the bar, nursing a bottle of ale. Grav-ball played on several screens at the bar, the sound off as a ticker scrolled across the bottom of the screen with updates on other games currently being played through the 'verse. He didn't consider himself a sports person but Grav-ball was tolerable enough.

Cheesy music continued and Makai brought out his comm, scrolling through to see if there were any pressing messages. Of course there weren't but it was just an excuse to ignore the world around him. Another sip of ale, some more scrolling.

"Looks like you're having an enthralling time."

A dry, sarcastic voice attached to a young Chiss woman barely caught his attention. Makai looked her over for a moment, wondering if he was even the one being spoken to. No one else seemed to be responding at the bar.

"Yeah, can't you tell this is my scene?"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

"I got various talents, babe. Real great ones. Dancing may not be my..." Elpsis liked to think that she was not that bad on the dancing floor. She was certainly better than Auntie Sio. Then again...that was easy, since Sio was awful. But she was just a bit put out and nervous about embarrassing herself.

Alas, the Chiss lady was not having any of this and dismissed her claims. "Come on, red. Relax. It's not like I'm asking you to do ballet dance or a salto...although that would be hilarious," she chuckled.

"You're enjoying this way too much," Elpsis grumbled as she was pulled towards the floor.

"I like watching you squirm."

"I'm not squirming."

"In the most adorable way. Now get on with it. Time to shake that lovely booty of yours." Elpsis silently cursed herself for having a weakness for older, bossy women. So she submitted to the inevitable. At least the Chiss thought her arse was nice.

'Baby-sitting' [member="Elpsis Elaris"] was a bit harder than he first assumed. Makai thought (wrongly) that Elpy would have a few drinks, scope out a few 'auras' and then move on her prey like a Nexu stalking a pack of wounded bark rats. However, one should never assume when Elpsis was around.

Currently was was dancing stiffly and with a bit of a horrible jerking motion. Makai cringed at the sight - he was horrible at dancing at a nightclub but could lead a girl around well enough at any formal event. Probably should have gave Big Sis some pointers before they left.

"Is that your girlfriend? You two here for some type of....experiment?..."

Makai nearly choked on his drink, face turning bright red.

"No, no. She's my sister. Just making sure she doesn't start drinking and walking into walls or anything...you know...brotherly support an' all..."

"Hmn, leaving you all alone. Maybe I can fix that."

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

Elpsis was a rather awkward dancer. She sure looked the part. However, she avoided embarrassing herself too much. For one, she managed not to step on Spire's toes. That would have been mortifying. However, her motions were still rather stiff and jerky.

Unsurprisingly, Spire took notice. "I do hope your horizontal tango is better than your vertical one, Red!" she teased.
Finally, Elpsis got some of her fire back. Her vertical tango was excellent. Broadly, she remembered how to ballroom dance. But instead of putting her hand on Spire's hip, she ran a hand down the woman's shapely arse.

"Don't worry, babe, I got this. Let's dance, and then I can get me another drink." Her voice was sweet and melodic. Stretching out with her empathy, she gave Spire some rather raunchy images. The dance became more heated then.
