"A Searcher admits he doesn’t know the answers in advance...A Planner believes outsiders know enough to impose solutions." - Easterly

NAME: Shule Windspeaker
FACTION: Jedi, Mandalorian citizen (Dantooine resident), loosely affiliated with Levantine Sanctum
RANK: Jedi Master
SPECIES: Human (presumed Tatooine ancestry due to name)
AGE: Visibly 32
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 5'10"
WEIGHT: 185lbs
EYES: Blue
HAIR: Sandy blonde
SKIN: Fairly white, tanned
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes, moderately so

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
(-) Windspeaker says that he discovered his Force sensitivity by running into a Tusken monofilament tripwire while decelerating his speeder bike instinctively. He still has a limp in his right leg.
(-) Windspeaker generally doesn't talk about his hands, which are heavily scarred; his fingers lack precise mobility to a degree.
(-) Windspeaker lives hand-to-mouth, trusting in the will of the Force and the generosity of his fellow sentients. He has long since spent his savings on worthy causes, has no investments, has no favors or debts to cash in, and does not or cannot draw on Jedi funds. He has no steady income and can be relied upon to carry twenty credits or less. He often uses public transportation; when necessary, he stows away.
(-) Most of the people who recognize his first name are Sith Lords as old as the hills, with skillsets to match. This can get him in trouble.
(+/-) Windspeaker doesn't like to lie, and isn't much good at it. This can get him in trouble.
(+/-) Windspeaker is actually Je'gan Olra'en, former Jedi Grandmaster, one of the finest mentalists and illusionists in history. His Sense abilities are also significant. However, his other Force powers are quite weak. He does not, as a rule, go in for esoteric Force powers and, indeed, is not one to look to the Force for power at all. Instead, he prioritizes insight, contemplation, and acceptance of the will of the Force when it manifests itself.
(+) His stories occasionally suggest that he's spent quite a bit of time with the Dagoyan Masters on Bardotta, as their student, well into his tenure as a Jedi Master. His Dagoyan training would manifest as a largely passive connection to the Force; an emphasis on what the Jedi would call Sense abilities; a focus on intuition; and an ability to detect, recognize, and withstand mental influence and interference. He is capable of partially or wholly seeing through White Current applications, and has some experience perceiving flaws in photokinetic illusions. In short, he's very hard to trick.
(+) As a lightsabre combatant, he favors Forms II and III but is conversant in all the Forms, including enough Vaapad that he knows not to use Vaapad outside of training scenarios. He is no well-known virtuoso, does not strive for primacy, and attempts to approach virtually every fight as an equal.
(+) Windspeaker doesn't like to talk about himself or his past, but between the occasional anecdote and his straightforward, almost familiarized acceptance of whatever threats he faces, others have been known to speculate that Windspeaker is older and more experienced than he lets on, in one sense or another. He can't match a Force god, but he always seems to know what he's up against.
(+) Windspeaker knows he doesn't have all the answers, knows he doesn't always have to be the one to solve a given problem, knows he may not be able to measure up to the challenges of the times, and has clearly reconciled himself to the gap between aspiration and performance that characterizes himself, the Jedi, and the Republic.
(+) Windspeaker has a high pain tolerance.

APPEARANCE:
Windspeaker is an unassuming man, more than willing to fade into the sidelines. His appearance is unexceptional, the seams his clothes often contain some kind of sand or grit, his lightsabre is functional and often visible, and he could generally use a haircut, maybe even a shave. He walks like a tired man who's finally had a weight removed.

BIOGRAPHY:
Shule Windspeaker's record claims that he was a young Jedi, new to the ways of the Force, when Ben Watts and Teferi Efreet united the Jedi Order. His name appears on the Coruscant Temple's training records, and other records indicate that he at least visited other Jedi enclaves like Ruusan and Lothal. At the ancient temple on Lothal, he is believed to have earned his Jedi mastery during a long wait beside the bones of Jedi masters who died waiting for their students to complete the temple's trials. The details of his promotion have largely been forgotten, though it would likely have taken place sometime during Darron Wraith's tenure.

He is believed to have been one of the targets of repeated Sith Empire raids on the long-abandoned Jedi enclave in the Dantooine plains, a place he calls home, though Dantooine is a long, long way from Tatooine. (Dantooine Enclave: Upper Level, Lower Level) He is generally not disturbed on Dantooine or on Yavin Four, due to a rumored standing order from a Mandalorian Field Marshal of a previous generation, but he wouldn't be disturbed anyway: he has no need for attention and knows how to keep his head down. He also speaks relatively good mando'a, which helps.

Windspeaker's record is patchy, and though he strikes some Jedi as familiar, the Order is large enough that he never really runs into old friends, if he has any. He's never been very closely associated with the Order. He's open about the fact that he once struggled with the Dark Side, but the details, if there be any, have no place in the records or collective memory of the Jedi. So far as anyone can recall, he's never served on the Council or, indeed, been considered. He's generally believed to be reliable, or at least not unreliable.

I am an immense fan of the Dagoyan Masters of Bardotta. Easily my favorite part of the last Clone Wars season -- a whole other Force tradition that's completely traded powers and combat skills for insight and contemplation, with Masters that the Jedi Council considers equals.
