I was going to make along post about how boring it would be without invasions and influence clouds (Plus the map wouldn't be pretty colors!) but everyone basically said exactly what I was going to say.

Keep the invasions. Restrict the Force users.

Without the hordes of titanic Force users, would there really be as many complaints?

I am dead serious.
I don't think you understand how many people are Force Users.

You'd have Invasions with like... five people in them.

Most people don't write Star Wars to be Johnny McNormalson. They want to be a goddamn Jedi, or a Sith. Naturally, this means the vast majority of characters are Force Users.

And even if you did restrict Force Users, the complaints and angst simple switch gears. "My gun hit you." "No it didn't." "Yes it did." "My armor is blah-blah. I take no damage."

Again, problem's not the system. Problem is the players.

If the vote is indicative of anything, most people enjoy Invasions. It facilitates storylines reminiscent of Star Wars lore.

There's just a very loud minority sprinkled among all factions that make it seem like no one is having fun.

EDIT: I feel like the "No" option is dangerously close to a contract, though. Just making this known. >_>

The key problem with the way we fight wars is the system, not us. It relies to heavily on constantly developing new tech, blitzing across the galaxy in campaigns that and factions that swing in and out favor faster than a Rome 2 Campaign, and thats pathetic. Then we claim the problem is us, hell no. We can smile and act like everything is ok, but one does not have just look through every invasion since December to see short fuses, pissed off writers, and RPJ reports.

Its not about getting rid of clouds and invasions. Its about fix the backwards ass way we fight wars on this to something more... Not dumb in every way shape or form.

Honestly, I don't want this board to devolve into 'attack the OS'.

That's what the last couple weeks has been. The only problem is when we have multiple invasions hitting us at the same time. Individual players freaking out and trying to attack everything is okay. A whole faction attacking, both OOC and IC is bad.

For clarity, OS's invasion of Alderaan had 2 official reports. 423 replies.

OP's invasion of Coruscant had 1 official report. 382 replies.

This.

None of us are innocent either, human nature and all that.

And this. I've fought NFU vs NFU on more than one occasion. Trust me, superhuman invincible cyborgs are not an improvement over godmodding force users.

Getting rid Of Invasions on this board would be like getting rid of all combat mechanica on Skyrim. Yeah it would still be cool in some areas, but shit, its really lacking in others.

Well arguing over such matter still counts, and one official report is still one to many, if its occurring on a regular basis in invasions.

You are very right. Had a terrorist attack with five people in it that was pretty fun, actually. Except the faction leader was very rude.

I agree if you're referring to the backroom talks. There were a lot of them and not all were pleasant.

I don't agree if you're referring to official reports. 2-3 per invasion is what I refer to as "acceptable loss" and why I have 5 RPJ's on retainer.

Unfortunately the two go hand in hand, as usually backroom talks are the precursor to file of an official report. Officials reports are filed only when someone in backroom talks that won't yield.
