- Planet Name: Shimmersand
- Demonym: Shimmersandi (for offworlders/residents); Khaevor natives simply refer to themselves by species/caste, while Janni-Sultanas use their order name
- Region: Unknown Regions (originally extragalactic, far beyond the Galactic Rim; post-Planeshift relocation places it in a newly accessible fringe area near the companion galaxies)
- System Name: Shimmersand System
- System Features: One stable yellow-white sun; no moons; sparse asteroid belt rich in kyber fragments; rotational period ~26 standard hours; orbital period ~380 local days. Minimal spatial anomalies beyond faint kyber signature able to be felt by wayseeker jedi through the force.
- Location: Location
- Major Imports: Minimal — occasional offworld medicinal herbs, rare metals for tool refinement
- Major Exports: Raw and refined kyber crystals; intricate kyber-inlaid artifacts and meditative tools
- Unexploited Resources: Vast untapped kyber veins deep in planetary crust; exotic crystalline-sap hybrids in jungles; potential for rare pale-blue/white kyber variants unique to Shimmersand.
- Gravity: Standard
- Climate:
- Polar to subpolar across most latitudes. The world breathes in cold.
Surface regions are dominated by glacial plains, crystalline ice shelves, and aurora-lit skies where charged particles paint slow rivers of green and violet across the heavens. Snowfall is frequent but soft, drifting more like sifted sugar than storm.
Localized temperate microclimates exist within geothermal fissures and beneath floating landmasses where meltwater falls in perpetual cascades. These areas create mist-veiled basins of liquid rivers winding through otherwise frozen terrain.
Subterranean regions are comparatively mild. The vast crystal caverns trap geothermal warmth, producing fog-laced chambers of humming resonance rather than frost.
- Polar to subpolar across most latitudes. The world breathes in cold.
- Primary Terrain:
- Floating Cryolithic Bastions
Massive landmasses of ice-bound stone and crystal drift above the surface, anchored by gravitational anomalies or ancient, forgotten technology. From their undersides fall colossal waterfalls that plunge into mist-choked chasms below.
Glacial Highlands
Jagged ridges of translucent crystal and permafrost stretch for thousands of kilometers. The ground itself refracts starlight, turning night into a dim cathedral of shifting blues.
Aurora Basins
Lowland regions carved by ancient melt cycles. Braided rivers glow faintly beneath thin ice sheets, illuminated by bioluminescent mineral deposits.
Crystal Deserts
Expanses of powdered ice-crystal dunes. Each grain refracts light into prismatic halos, so entire horizons shimmer as if wrapped in fractured rainbows. Footprints linger like carved glass before wind erases them.
Subterranean Networks
An immense underworld of natural crystal caverns. Some chambers form towering geodes large enough to house cities.
- Floating Cryolithic Bastions
- Atmosphere: Type I
- Capital City: Aestra'Kyrr
- Planetary Features: Primarily ice and crystal — untouched jungles near geothermal vents, crystal-encrusted ruins of ancient settlements, vast networks of natural caverns carved into meditation halls and training grounds by the Janni-Sultanas.
- Major Locations:
- Aestra'Kyrr — The ancient cathedral ship of the Pius Dea, once crashed upon the world. COnverted as it froze over thousands of years prior.
- The Great Kyber Caverns — immense underground networks where Janni-Sultanas reside, carved into halls of living crystal for training and deep meditation.
- Matriarchal Groves — humid geothermal jungle clearings dominated by ancient trees and kyber-laced flora where Khaevor Iron Matriarchs hold court and oversee caste interactions.
- Berserker Frostholds — cooler surface settlements where Warrior Caste Khaevor maintain glacial climates for training, marked by territories and rune-carved ice walls.
- Umbral Sanctums — deepest cavern voids where Priestess Caste Khaevor commune with shadow and starlight.
- Fractured Enclaves — mixed-caste border zones where Stormborn/Fractured Daughters gather, blending elements of all castes.
- Celestial Jedi Temple of Secher Nbiw — The silver jedi's outaward temple, built upon the Wandering mountain and used as a repository of knowledge and meditaation.
- Crown and Spears Hall — Sasori's aid station, organizing and allowing vessels a place to restock, refuel if needed and have logistical support in the furthest reaches few others are able to reach.
- Force Nexus:
- Intent: To establish a planetary-scale Light-side influence rooted in Shimmersand's vast kyber formations and the blending of Khaevor physiology with Jedi-derived teachings, explaining the world's deep Light affinity, the Janni-Sultanas' influences.
- Nexus Name: The Living Veil
- Nexus Alignment: Light
- Size: Planetary
- Strength: Moderate (pervasive gentle thrum that aids clarity, discipline and Light-side users; can be felt galaxy-wide as a faint pull in the force)
- Accessibility: Difficult given the location, the planeshift move the world closer to the galaxy allowing it to be found to the bravest explorers.
- Effects: Enhances mental clarity, meditative focus; promotes emotional restraint and harmony; nearby flora responds positively (blooming, unfurling); prolonged exposure strengthens Light-side alignment while subtly discouraging aggression or dark impulses.
- Native Species: None significant (Janni-Sultanas are culturally native after millennia)
- Immigrated Species: Khaevor (caste-divided humanoid species with innate Force sensitivity and kyber-inlaid physiology)
- Population: Sparse
- Demographics: Predominantly Khaevor (various castes in balanced proportions); small permanent Janni-Sultanas enclaves integrated respectfully; occasional Silver Jedi guests.
- Primary Languages: Khaevor tongue; Janni-Sultanas dialect; Galactic Basic
- Culture:
- Shimmersand's inhabitants live in a deeply introspective, disciplined society shaped by millennia of isolation, kyber shaping and meditation and harmonious coexistence between the Khaevor and the Janni-Sultanas. Daily life revolves around self-mastery, communal growth and subtle communion with the force rather than outward expansion or material accumulation.
Among the Khaevor, society is matriarchal and caste-stratified, with Iron Matriarchs holding ultimate authority in matters of lineage, resource allocation, and inter-caste harmony. Life is structured around the will of the force within the jungle groves and crystal caverns: dawn meditations where kyber tattoos glow with the rising sun, mid-day training or service duties aligned to one's caste and evening gatherings where castes mingle in carefully balanced rituals. Storytelling takes the form of etched kyber carvings or holographic tales projected on floating shards, recounting ancestral migrations, the Jedi crash-landing, or visions granted by the planetary shift.
Art and adornment are highly personal and symbolic: kyber-inlaid tattoos serve as living records of life events, Force focus and caste identity; hair is bound or left wild in patterns denoting rank or partnership; clothing and armor blend utility with beauty. Music is sparse and resonant low chimes from kyber bells, breath-controlled throat singing within cavern acoustics, or paired vocalizations from Pairs that evoke shared emotion without words.
The Janni-Sultanas add an ascetic counterpoint: their enclaves emphasize lifelong dyadic bonds, where partners train, eat, meditate, and rest in near-constant proximity to refine unity. Communal child-rearing instills discipline from infancy no individualism at the expense of the pair or the order. Leisure is meditative rather than recreational: extended endurance trances, flower-arranging as focus drills, or silent observation of jungle flora responding to their warmth.

- Government: Janni-Sultanas Conclave of Khaevor Matriarchs
- Affiliation: Independent (loose ties with Silver Jedi post-contact via
Matsu Ike
) - Wealth: Medium with limited trade among the silvers that has expaanded thanks to crown and spears.
- Stability: High as their isolation and remoteness allows them to function as a smaller controlled community without maany of the outside influences.
- Freedom & Oppression: High personal discipline within castes/orders; freedom of expression through art/training; no overt oppression but rigid traditions and closed membership limit outsiders.
- Military: Minimal/defensive — Janni-Sultanas precision duels and micro-Force defense; Khaevor Warrior Caste berserkers as guardians; no standing army or navy.
- Technology: Near-Galactic Standard in some areas from reverse engineered ships; otherwise low-impact/sustainable (hand-crafted tools, no heavy industry).
Shimmersand formed eons ago around vast kyber deposits that attuned the planet to the Living Force, creating a gentle planetary hum in the force similar to other force rich worlds. The Khaevor found their way to the world, their physiology incorporating kyber tattoos and caste-based Force. They developed a bond with the planet becoming a more secured matriarchal society focused on balance and strength. It was after fleeing to survive their dying worlds seen as aa second chance. THeir old world seen as rejecting them for their violence and warlike ways. Their goddess a winged force user appearing to them in visions to guide them along the path to the world. They woudl adpat, survive and grow their society over the next several thousaand years until fires came from the sky.
During the Pius Dea era, a Jedi strike team with Republic soldiers sabotaged the hyperspace computers of the ships. A coordinated effort across the Republic to save it by many who were trying to end the Pius Dea crusades. THe ship jumped randomly without coordinaates or a destination and crashing on Shimmersand i became stranded. The survivors meeting the Khaevor and the jedi recognized what the world was. Like Ilum or Ahch-To, Tython and Ossus the world called to force users unconsciously. The Khaevor saw them as guided by their goddess a patron of the lightside of the force and they integrated them within the Khaevor, blending Jedi discipline with local philosophy to birth the Janni-Sultanas an all-female monastic order.
Over millennia, the groups coexisted peacefully: Janni-Sultanas in caverns, Khaevor in jungles/icelands. The world remained isolated, its distance a subtle guardian. Until the Planeshift displaced Shimmersand into the Unknown Regions, bringing rare contact. THey were with other worlds therre as some recognized it. THe transmissions from the old cathedral ship long since turned into a capital were able to get transmissions quicker. The Silver Jedi led by Matsu Ike approached respectfully, exchanging knowledge without disruption. THey brought knowledge of what had happened but also saw the Khaevor and Janni as what can happen for worlds bathed in the lightside of the force.
Shimmersand continues as a sanctuary of Light, disciplined, and quietly powerful its inhabitants as Matsu brought the Wandering mountain a jedi master of size and proportion who would serve to secure and hold the temple. As a repository of knowledge that would be able to function amid the constant conclaves of the various orders and calls to protect knowledge. SOmething the silver jedi had been doing but the insular nature of several orders to only rely on their own worrks kept the Silver jedi's works mostly on the fringe. The jedi masters skills though saw many more aspects as they could improve theirr understanding of crafting and imbuing kyber crystal across their developments and equipment.
