  • Classification: Sword
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Heavy
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Vanheim Steel
STRENGTHS
  • Vanheim Steel: Forged in the Temples of Bolnair, the Shadow Song is made from Vanheim Steel, the mythical metal used by the Danari people for their weapons. Capable of reflecting energy based projectile weapons, and fighting blow for blow against lightsabers, the Shadow Song is capable of facing most foes across the galaxy.
WEAKNESSES
  • Bulky: While strong, the Vanheim Steel used in Shadow Songs creation makes the blade nearly unwieldy. Bjorn Einarson is capable of wielding it in battle effectively, but it is not a graceful weapon. It is best used in strong, heavy strikes, and is poorly suited for quick and rapid exchanges of blows.
DESCRIPTION
In Danari society, it is customary for a child turning ten years of age, an important number in their religion, to receive their first proper weapon. A ceremony is conducted where the child puts on a robe of seeking, a simple green and white cloth, and enters the Temple of Bolnair. Inside, the black clad priests of Bolnair await the supplicant seeking their Gods gift, a Vanheim Steel weapon. They question the child, and a priestess of Eskolar is brought in. Using her gifts bestowed by her Goddess, the Force, they read the child's inner thoughts and desires. The two priests then confer, and the supplicant is sent from the Temple of Bolnair. They must wait outside the temple for two days and nights. On the third, the priests of Bolnair emerge, and gift the child a weapon forged specifically for him or her.

Bjorn Einarson went through this process, and Shadow Song was forged for him using the answers the priests of Bolnair had gathered, and the inner workings of his mind gleaned by the priestess of Eskolar. He cherished the weapon, as all Danari children do, and spent long hours each day training with his older siblings. When his family was wiped out, and he was sold into slavery, his blade was taken as a trophy by Earl Ubba. When Bjorn broke free of slavery and returned to his home, he killed Ubba and reclaimed his blade. Now, Shadow Song thirsts for new battles across the stars, and Bjorn Einarson looks eagerly to fulfill its wishes.
