- Description: The Intersector Security Ranger Corps (INTERSEC), also called the Sector Rangers, is an transgovernmental law enforcement initiative to allow affiliated nations to pursue fugitives and criminal organizations across factional borders. INTERSEC Coruscant serves as the Galactic Alliance's designated representative on behalf of the Alliance's Ministry of Justice. INTERSEC Coruscant is tasked with investigating individuals and organizations abroad who are suspected or accused of committing crimes within or toward the Galactic Alliance. Sector Rangers work closely with the federal and local law enforcement agencies of the nations they are operating within, and in strict accordance with their local laws and regulations. The INTERSEC initiative allows affiliated nations to forgo the often lengthy process of extradition, instead allowing Sector Rangers (or equivalents) to pursue fugitives across their borders in an official and documented capacity, and with accountability.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

- Headquarters: INTERSEC Coruscant HQ, Senate District, Galactic City
- Domain: INTERSEC operates within the territories of affiliated nations.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

- Hierarchy:
Commissioner: Despite having little to do with day-to-day operations, the Commissioner is the highest-ranking authority within the Galactic Alliance's Sector Rangers. The position is appointed directly by the Ministry of Justice with the express purpose of supervising the Chief of Operations and providing civilian oversight to the Ranger Corps. The civilian Commissioner ensures that the Ranger Corps adheres to the government's regulations and provides an unbiased means of accountability should it fail to abide by federal or international laws.
Chief of Operations: The highest-ranking uniformed officer of the Alliance's INTERSEC, elected internally by the Superintendents. The Chief of Operations (or Chief Ranger), as its name implies, manages the Corps' operational and performance goals. The position directly oversees the combined actions of each division.
Superintendent: The commanding officers of INTERSEC's five operational divisions. The Superintendents report to the Chief of Operations and are tasked with managing and overseeing the actions of their personnel. In addition, Superintendents are responsible for ensuring their divisions are meeting the Corps' performance expectations and adhering to both internal policies and the laws of the territories they are operating within.
Captain: The senior officers in charge of overseeing the actions of INTERSEC Rangers across entire sectors of the galaxy. As the most abundant senior officer position and the highest-ranking position outside of the Office of the Commissioner, it is common for a Captain to be the primary authority of a local INTERSEC office.
Lieutenant: A junior officer position and administrative role within INTERSEC's local offices. Lieutenants assist with day-to-day management tasks and oversee the actions of the Ranger Corps' within assigned star systems, supervising several Sergeants. From a bureaucratic standpoint, Lieutenants often have the most interaction with the local law enforcement agencies of the territories their offices operate within -- coordinating with them and local government offices to ensure their presence is noted and actions permitted.
Sergeant: As a supervisory field position, Sergeants direct the actions of the Rangers assigned to them. With the exception of unique or high-stakes circumstances, it is common for a Sergeant to be the lead authority deployed to an incident while the Lieutenant in command of the operation oversees from their task force headquarters.
Ranger: The bulk of INTERSEC's personnel. Rangers are field personnel who have graduated from the Ranger Corps Training Academy and now serve as transgovernmental law enforcement officers within the Galactic Alliance and abroad.

- Membership: As a transgovernmental organization that is trusted to maintain the reputation of the Galactic Alliance abroad, applicants for the Intersector Security Ranger Corps are generally expected to have previous experience within law enforcement, the armed forces, or a similarly disciplined environment. Should an application be accepted, a hopeful cadet is then required to undergo a series of cognitive and physical test that can be conducted by any local law enforcement office with an INTERSEC detachment. Those applicants who pass these tests are grouped into a wave -- a group of cadets who will begin training at the same time -- and sent to the INTERSEC Law Enforcement Academy in Pols Anaxes. Over the course of 6 months cadets will be put through intense physical and mental conditioning, taught and tested on the laws of the Galactic Alliance and other affiliated governments, and shaped into paragons of justice. Upon graduation, a cadet achieves the rank of Ranger and is assigned to one of the following Divisions:
Office of the Commissioner (OtC): The upper management of the Galactic Alliance's Intersector Security Ranger Corps. It is lead by the Ministry of Justice's appointed Commissioner and the agency's elected Chief of Operations (Chief Ranger), along with each of the divisional Superintendents. The Office of the Commissioner is the administrative body of the Sector Rangers, and is responsible for providing leadership, ensuring fair practices in accordance with international laws, and setting/overseeing the Corps' operational goals.
Criminal Pursuit Division (CPD): Responsible for the investigation of criminal activity and the apprehension of fugitives to the Galactic Alliance outside of federal jurisdiction. The Criminal Pursuit Division works alongside the local and federal law enforcement agencies of affiliated foreign factions to pursue warrants for individuals and groups wanted by the Alliance's Ministry of Justice. When necessary, Rangers of the CPD may also aid the Alliance Marshals Service in domestic pursuits.
Counter-Terrorism Division (CTD): The Rangers of this division are specially trained for counter-terrorism operations domestically and abroad. CTD Rangers are often deployed alongside the Marshals Service when dealing with domestic terrorism, but are directly responsible for pursuing any leads that point outside of the Galactic Alliance's borders. Additionally, CTD Ranger's can be dispatched to aid affiliated factions against the violent actions of radicals and revolutionaries.
Economic Crimes Division (ECD): While more of a support division, the ECD focus on criminal actions that threaten to corrupt or harm the economy of the Galactic Alliance. These Rangers are responsible for protecting the value of the Standard Credit and stopping foreign entities from influencing the Alliance through the use of credit fraud, perjury, counterfeiting and other economic/cybercrimes.
Drug Enforcement Division (DED): The Galactic Alliance's elite law enforcement personnel in the war against the drug empires of the Galaxy. The DED investigate drug-related crimes within the Alliance, tracking down and eliminating foreign operations and the agents they use to import illicit substances. DED Rangers tend to focus exclusively on drug manufacturers, distributors, traffickers and any criminal organization with a notable link to the illegal drug trade.
Human Trafficking Division (HTD): INTERSEC's primary force against the heinous crimes of slavery. Despite being outlawed in the Core Worlds and many other sections of the Galaxy, the trafficking of sapients is still a very real threat, with some prominent governments even condoning it's unrestricted practice. HTD Rangers work alongside affiliated government agencies to fight against the exploitation of sapient beings and prevent the suppression of rights and freedoms, rooting out those responsible for the abduction, exportation and abuse of free beings and stop these illegal practices.

- Climate: Sector Rangers put their lives at risk to pursue the criminals of the Galaxy well beyond their own borders. The job brings significant hazards with it both on and off the field, as Rangers are often stirring the proverbial hornets nest with powerful and dangerous organizations. INTERSEC Rangers must be able to rely on one another to keep eachother focused and safe, especially when operating in foreign territories. Because of this, Sector Rangers often share a strong sense of comradery.
- Reputation: Operating in foreign territory naturally brings a mixed batch of opinions. Some might show weariness toward the presence of a remote agent in their territory, or believe that their own agencies are sufficient against a threat and have no need for a 3rd party. However, others may see the collaborative efforts of the governments as a sign of unity, and believe that an overlapping of law enforcement agencies can result in increased security for everyone involved.
- Curios: INTERSEC does not have a mandated uniform. However, affiliated nations may choose to enforce one for their own Sector Rangers if desired. Rangers of the Galactic Alliance's 'INTERSEC Coruscant' are issued a holo-badge with a verifiable hash code and a gene-locked, encrypted identichip that includes limited personal information such as name, rank and faction, and their status within INTERSEC.
- Rules: INTERSEC Rangers (or equivalents) are required to obey the federal and local laws of the territories they are operating within. To ensure accountability, if a planet or government is dissatisfied with the actions taken by a foreign Sector Ranger, a request for disciplinary action may be presented to the foreign operative's INTERSEC HQ or government. Should their actions be considered a crime, a Sector Ranger may be forced to stand trial in the territory they're accused.
- Goals: The purpose of the Intersector Security Ranger Corps is to facilitate an official means for inter-factional police cooperation to assist affiliated nations in pursuing and capturing fugitives and criminal organizations outside of their borders.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

As more and more systems unite under the starbird banner, the Alliance's politicians have worked tirelessly to restore the reputation of the Core Worlds on the galactic stage.
Part of this great undertaking has included the establishment of the Intersector Security Ranger Corps (INTERSEC). Amalgamating the High Republic's Sector Rangers with divisions of the Core Alliance's Ministry of Justice, the reconstituted Galactic Alliance utilizes these Sector Rangers to protect itself and its allies from threats abroad. While the Alliance Marshals Service & countless local law enforcement agencies work to maintain law & order across the Alliance's own territory, the Ranger Corps look to the horizon to challenge enemies beyond. Working alongside the law enforcement officials of foreign governments, Sector Rangers work to serve and protect the ideals of the the Alliance across the Galaxy.
